Watching, Listening, Heeding

Melissa Gabler—As the people of God, what do we need to be watching, listening for and heeding? Watch for creativity and ideas being unleashed that will produce finances, answers, healing, refuge and change in hearts. Deut.28 sounds like we won’t miss creativity and ideas “if” we listen diligently to the voice of the Lord our God, being watchful to do all His commandments.

Hearing a Word

As the people of God assemble today may they prepare their hearts to hear the voice of God Most High giving them wisdom to make decisions to live by. May they hear His written Word today and let it be their guideline by which they measure what they hear in days to come. Isa.30:21,Amp—“And your ears will hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way; walk in it, when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.”

Attentive to the Voice

As the people of God assemble today may they be attentive to the voice of the Holy listenSpirit concerning future appointments in the purposes of the Lord God. May the worship and the Word prepare us, and as needed, adjust us so that we adequately respond to the assignments that we were born and fitted to meet.  “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jer.29:11, NKJV)

Issues and Hearing

As the people of God assemble today, may the Lord enable them to step beyond issues that would otherwise hinder their hearing the truths of His Word. May issues not be considered or guarded as the Word of God is spoken. May those issues not be a screen that the Word has to get through before the Word can be considered for repentance and/or growth. May personal issues, and issues with others who are present in the meeting, take a back seat to the life and delivering power of the Word of God.  Psa 81:13 — “Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways!   14  Speedily then I would subdue their enemies and turn My hand against their adversaries.” (Amp)

War in Song

We wage war in prophetic praise and song and dance. We are commissioned to fight and our weapons are of divine origin, not of man. That is why we are so bold, because we have divine commission and divine weapons that have divine power to demolish strongholds (2Co.10:4). Our weapon is primarily the written Word of God and then the encouragements He gives which are based on scripture. They may include a song in the night, a teaching, a prophecy or a praise song. The fact remains that the prophetic church is ever doing battle by being the voice of God on the earth.

Thunder: “To Call Aloud”

The following week after I had the vision about the war and the storm, exactly seven days later at 3:00 A.M., I was awakened again, this time to a literal storm. Thunder rattled the windows. The thunder was loud, unnerving and unending.  It seemed to be right over our house, pounding the windows and walls and it brought me fully awake. I sat up and awaited understanding and instructions to pray as the atmosphere around me seemed electric.  The most unusual thing about the thunder was that it was not coming in abrupt crashes but rather in a steady drumming sound in the heavens.  After what seemed half an hour or so, the thunderous vibrations slowly moved away, but I could still hear the continuous rumbling in the distance.

I looked up the Hebrew meaning of “thunder” which is “to call aloud; a voice or sound, a proclamation”. “Thunder crashes and rumbles in the skies. Listen! It’s God raising his voice! Job 26:11.  And this is only the beginning, a mere whisper of His rule. Whatever would we do if He really raised his voice!” Job 26:14  “Whenever this happens, my heart stops– I’m stunned, I can’t catch my breath.  Listen to it! Listen to His thunder, the rolling, rumbling thunder of His voice.  He lets loose His lightnings from horizon to horizon, lighting up the earth from pole to pole. In their wake, the thunder echoes his voice, powerful and majestic. He lets out all the stops, He holds nothing back. No one can mistake that voice–  His word thundering so wondrously, His mighty acts staggering our understanding.” (Job 37:1-5)  The week before, I had seen Him break through second heaven to release His will into the earth.  This week, I sat listening to His voice charge the earth’s atmosphere and make it tremble with anticipation.   (Second excerpt from Kathy’s article “Breakthroughs Coming”— First excerpt was posted on 1-15-18)

September is for Tuning In

The month of SEPTEMBER IS FOR TUNING IN. We will be tuning in to Holy Spirit’s frequency to pray more efficiently and to discern and to release words of knowledge and words of wisdom and counsel. We will be able to tune in because storms of life are passing that have, heretofore, interrupted communication from Father’s heart to ours. We will discover that Father is always attempting to redemptively communicate with us and that we are most welcome to tune in to His frequency of peace and wisdom.  (Prov.4:20, Msg) ”…listen well to my words; tune your ears to my voice.”

Active Voice Of God On Earth

The active voice of the Kingdom of God on earth is the ecclesia (Gk. “ekklesia” pronounced ek-klay-seé-ah). We use this particular word for “church” when actually in the Greek it means “called-out ones.” One source has it that ekklesia was the name given to the governmental assembly of the city of Athens, duly called out by proper officers and possessing all political power including the Constitution02administration of justice—and that is with reference to actions of a judge. The word was in use before the New Testament was written and, when inspiring the writers of Holy Scripture, was chosen by Holy Spirit who was attempting to show believers what they were to be about when they were assembled. If we go merely by the religious/cultural view today, we would understand the voice of “the church” to be one of continual petition for things that would maintain us in our comfort zones. But if we forsake a modern, western mindset and get into the thinking of first century believers who understood the pure meaning of “ekklesia” in their times, we would realize that the voice of heaven on earth is a governmental one either allowing or disallowing, which would be sufficient to stay the malevolent powers of darkness which are vehemently attempting to thwart the advancement and practice of redemptive, divine government in culture. The called-out, authorized, righteous-character citizens of heaven must continually contradict darkness by verbal affront and command. Put simply, we must lift our voices in declarations of the known will of God and pray imprecatory prayers (e.g., Ps.5, Ps.35, Ps.56, Ps.69, Ps.83) against institutional evil that the Light of God’s Kingdom may break in upon the dark minds of lost humanity, That they may know that You alone, whose name is the LORD, Are the Most High over all the earth.(Ps.83:18)
