Ready for Something Unusual

About the time of Moses Israel began to cry out, “Save us from Pharaoh!” Then suddenly, “Bam!” Snakes, staffs and bull frogs are flying in every direction. About the time of Jesus Israel cries, “Save us from Rome!” Then suddenly, “Bam!” Wind, fire, tongues and spiritual drunkenness hit them. God’s people are once again crying, “Save us!” Get ready for something unusual! Are you ready for the unconventional? (see Isa.55:8-9)   Isa.33:22, The Passion Translation — “The Lord Yahweh is our Judge, our Lawgiver, and our King; He will save us completely!”

What Gets Bigger Than God?

Kathy — Consider David. His self-government completely crashed as he committed big time sin that had big time consequences. Most people would have crawled in a hole to eat worms and die (especially after a big prophet exposed it all), but David took personal responsibility and owned his mess.  That positioned him to repent (2Sam.12:13). He didn’t act like Adam and try to hide after he sinned.  Neither did he spend the rest of his life cowering as unworthy or continually seeking reassurance that God still accepted him.  No, in fact, after he repented, he begged God to change His plan and spare the child born out of adultery.  Who would have the nerve to ask God for mercy at this point?  Even after his self-image took a big hit publicly, David didn’t allow condemnation to seep in the cracks.  It wasn’t that he was a simple-minded optimist, nor was he thinking in terms of deserving this, he  was  simply convinced God loved him.  None of David’s mess-ups ever got bigger to him than God.  He remained “a man after God’s own heart,” who continued to see himself as a son just like God did. That’s relationship.  That’s a strong family bond and some awesome sonship!

Godliness or Something Less?

The people of God already have a King and Redeemer and no politician can replace Him. Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God is our redeemer and Messiah. To quote Dale Gentry, “We have had conservative presidents but not one has called the nation to a fast. Conservativism will not replace godliness.” And while mentioning conservativism, consider a poignant measure on the future of the matter: “The weakened Republican Party will not be successful in opposing important policy shifts. It FlagBibleCrosswill be engaged in an internal ideological struggle. Its main question will be the extent to which it can continue to accommodate the ideas of its religious faction and yet expand its base to appeal to a broad coalition who sees the religious right as the albatross around the neck of the party.”(Sam Soleyn, “Shaking the Heavens and the Earth” http://www.soleyn.com) We are standing at a tipping point in this nation that we have not quite approached to date and, for the most part, are not even aware of. The Church was never meant to place itself or its hope in the hands of political parties, candidates or governing or judicial entities created by men. The Church will only function the way it was created and ordained to function, standing on the foundation of the rule of God, that is, Kingdom principles. When the king of Sodom opened his arms wide to include Abraham in the economy of his own kingdom, Abraham quickly responded: “Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have sworn to the LORD God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth, 23  that I will not take a thread or a sandal thong or anything that is yours, for fear you would say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’” (Gen.14:22-23) You become a lackey for the one who fills your pocket and they never let you forget they are the one that did it.

To Come Forth as a King

There was one grandson Athaliah did not kill. Jehoshaba saw what was coming down and hid Josia in the temple of God (2K 11:2). May God raise up many Jehoshabas in this hour with courage to protect what Athaliah wants to prevent. Josia was hidden in the temple for six years. Six is the number of man. He did not become king until the marks of man upon him had been exposed to the presence of God and the teaching of God’s word. There are some who might think it strange to keep a child hidden away in the house of God for six years. Some might think that he would be a weirdo because he had not been out in the world “living a normal life.” But when he came forth, he came forth as king.

Provided A King

3 wise menAs the people of God assemble today, may they rejoice in the God of their salvation for He has provided us a King who rules in righteousness (Isa.32:1). May they practice the wisdom of seeking Him.
“…Three wise men came from country far;
To seek for a king was their intent…”
“Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel,
Born is the King of Israel.”

“Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O Daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King comes to you; He is [uncompromisingly] just and having salvation [triumphant and victorious], patient, meek, lowly, and riding on a donkey, upon a colt, the foal of a donkey.” (Zech.9:9, Amp)

THE Super Spirit

THE Super Spirit
There is a yearning for a superhero to contradict the oppression of a downward spiral of destruction in our world. Since the powerful Holy Spirit (THE Super Spirit) is the one who links heaven and earth (Jn 16:7), it should be obvious to us that His dwelling presence within us (Lk 24:49; Acts 1:8), and His permeating presence into chaos (Gen 1:2;Jn 16:8-11;Acts 17:6) is the only way the powers of darkness can be defeated. That requires our looking beyond using Jesus as a get-out-of-hell-free card and seeing His kingship as empowered by the promised One who endues sons of God with confronting and contradicting abilities (1Co 12:4-11, 28-31). The gifts of the Spirit are not Charismatic party favors but enablements for reigning presently in this earth over everything that its systems launch against King Jesus and His present purposes.
