Kathy — Identity is knowing who you are and being confident you have purpose for being here. The first shot the devil took at Jesus in the wilderness was at His identity: “If You are God’s Son, then command these stones.” However, Jesus was so confident of His identity that Satan couldn’t tempt Him to even have to prove it. (Matt.4:3-4) Affirmation establishes our self-worth. Satan said, “Since you are God’s Son, jump.” Matt.4:6 Let’s just see how far your Father will go to prove His regard for you. Many people grow up never being affirmed. This is My beloved Son in whom I’m well pleased,” affirmed Jesus personally and publicly. Satan couldn’t make Him test His own worth because he couldn’t make Him doubt His Father’s affirmation.
Darkness, huge crashing waves and dangerous high winds were life-threatening factors pressing upon the disciples and rocketing fear and dread to heights they had never known. They were panicking because, if the present unconventional factors continued, they and their boat would go to the bottom of the lake. Initially, Jesus had told His disciples to go to the other side of the lake (Matt.14:22-27). At first, they were probably focused on their Lord’s instruction and enthused about following those instructions. They likely had a point of destination in their minds and could see it with the mind’s eye as they planned their route and even had a spot in mind to tie up their boat when they landed. But, en route, unconventional elements interjected themselves and the disciples were forced into an entirely different form of effort in which they could no longer see the conventional path or destination. They could only focus on immediate surroundings and attempts at survival. We must beware of reaching a point at which we are merely dwelling on just the facts. Focus on present circumstances and abandoning “the other side” and abandoning instructions or putting them on hold, will take the heart out of us which is a must-have factor in getting us beyond the choking grip of present factors. These may be the present facts but they are not the conclusion of the matter. In the Bible, present facts and final conclusions always looked very different from one another.
Melissa — What do I do when prophetic lifestyle things occur? Here’s where I start: TAKE THE TIME TO PAY ATTENTION. Remember, this life is meant to be EPIC. Take time to act, pray, speak it/declare it, write it down or simply agree in that moment. If it’s not obvious what to do, ask God for instruction. You may need to hold on to it for future reference. Don’t get impatient and jump into action if the action is not clear. That could lead to an unpleasant outcome. He could be training you in that moment, getting you ready. Personal Responsibility for the Prophetic Lifestyle: 1.) Read the Bible. Remember, the Bible is written FOR us, not TO us. The Word specifies who it is written TO. Reading the Bible keeps you familiar with God’s ways. God highlights and pinpoints scriptures for wisdom, action, prayer, declaration, etc. 2.) Pray… specifically in tongues. It keeps your eyes and ears open. Ephesians 3:16, 20-21- “That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” Praying in tongues charges our spirit man. The spirit (inner man) needs to be charged way more than the soul does. Praying in tongues brings that charge which in turn brings clarity. “Your soul drinks in what your ears and eyes and emotions are exposed to all day. The only way you can renew your mind and take dominion over the demonic assault on your feelings and thoughts is to be filled with the Spirit!” (L. Wallnau).

Kathy — Healthy parenting establishes three essentials in each child: 1.Identity which produces self-image; 2.Affirmation which produces self-worth; 3.Obedience which produces self-discipline–three essentials for healthy character. Mature character is essential to experience our full destiny that glorifies God. A frail self-image, lack of self-worth and lack of self-discipline can damage or destroy anyone’s future! Rom.8:14, Amp—“For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”
As the people of God assemble today may they be refreshed in the corporate presence of the Lord and may they fearlessly face the unknown factors of the challenges ahead of them. May the Word and encouragement cause their ears and eyes to be opened to discover that there are still possibilities in God for solutions that no one has ever considered. May they go out of the edifying corporate assembly toward those challenges speaking in agreement with the creative acts of God in the Bible and in the earth, imitating Abraham: (Rom.4:17, Msg) “…[Abraham] dared to trust God to do what only God could do: … with a word make something out of nothing.”
Melissa G.) “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2) That’s a Change-Agent’s life right there. We PROVE the good, acceptable and perfect will of God. How? By changing our thought habits. We meditate on God’s will, His original intent for this earth. We stop fixating on the enemy’s war around us by realizing his war has intensified because he is feeling the pressure of this never-ending Kingdom in Luke 1. We turn our thoughts toward that powerful fact. We engage in power, love, and a sound mind by dumping fear-thoughts that have wreaked havoc (2 Timothy 1:7). This is all possible in our lifetime!
Have you noticed the myriad of challenges in current events that seem to have no solution? Have you wondered if there are any answers to the dilemmas you wrestle with in your life? As you face the unknown factors of challenges ahead of you, may your ears and eyes be opened to discover that there are still possibilities in God for solutions that no one has ever considered. May you go toward those challenges speaking in agreement with the creative acts of God in the Bible and in the earth. Let’s imitate Abraham: (Rom.4:17, Msg) “…[Abraham] dared to trust God to do what only God could do: … with a word make something out of nothing.” We are praying you discover daily the possibilities and solutions in the risen Christ.
Kathy — Your salvation means you have the covenant-backing of Almighty God to help you overcome anything that opposes what you’re born to do, even in your health, relationships, finance or circumstances. Your salvation assures you of overcoming power. This salvation will even save you from yourself. It is the power of God to overcome opposition within your own heart, beliefs, mind, memories, character and emotions. 1Jn.4:4,TPT—“Little children, you can be certain that you belong to God and have conquered them, for the One who is living in you is far greater than the one who is in the world.”
Melissa — The following list is not only how the prophetic lifestyle is lived out, it is also ways in which He trains us for a prophetic lifestyle. This is not a comprehensive list. There are so many ways to hear from the Alpha and Omega. We don’t all have the same exact experiences because we each have a personal relationship with God. The way you hear has to do with this most important relationship of your life! But, as you’ll see, there are similarities in ways we all hear. 1.) Coincidences: the occurrence of events that happen at the same time by accident but seem to have some connection. (Webster’s Dictionary) Coincidences can easily be put in the I don’t want to be weird category, so they can easily be ignored. Pay attention! Remember, God is working on many levels, so why would we not experience coincidences? 2.) DeJa-Vu: a feeling that one has seen or heard something before. (Webster’s Dictionary) Nope, not spooky at all, rather a fantastic training experience! If you have one simply ask what you need to see. If you don’t get an answer, perhaps you were being trained to pay attention. 3.) Dreams: of course God speaks to us in dreams. Our conscious mind is out of the way. 4.) Visions: are like a movie in your head or right before your eyes. 5.) Double-take: is that thing which makes you look again because you thought you saw something and it ends up not being there. 6.) Feelings: are about a knowing in your gut, excitement out of nowhere, uneasiness out of nowhere. 7.) Urges: to pray, do something, call someone, go somewhere. 8.) Hearing: still small voice or loud and clear. 9.) Thoughts: came out of nowhere. You weren’t even thinking about that subject and the thought won’t go away. It just sits in your mind. 10.) The place between awake and asleep: the mind is not in the way here. From my experience these moments have been very clear. 11.) In conversation: something strikes a chord, confirms something you heard, or an idea comes “out of nowhere”. An inspirational conversation, if you will.
Before Moses was born Israel began to cry out, “Save us from Pharaoh!” Then 80 years later there was a suddenly: “Bam!” Snakes, staffs and bull frogs are flying in every direction. Before Jesus was born Israel cries, “Save us from Rome!” Then after 60 yrs. of Roman domination: suddenly, “Boom! Bam!” Wind, fire, speaking in tongues and spiritual drunkenness hit them. Then, following that, all manner of mind-blowing miracles, signs and wonders began to take place wherever the followers of Christ showed up. God’s people are once again crying, “Save us, O mighty God!” So… Get ready for something unusual, something that is unconventional! Are you ready for the unconventional? (Isa.55:8-9) We must have Something which is totally unconventional in comparison to what is already not working here. It will require to be absolutely radical in its makeup and its effect. But it is not being handed to us on a platter labeled “As Usual”, “The Good Ol’ Days”, “Return to 1950’s Revival” It is headed our way in a series of Whirlwinds called “Unconventional”! The items and agendas which make up “conventional” and “typical” are going to be flying in every direction just like Aaron’s staff and Egypt’s snakes and bull frogs. Nahum 1:3— “…the Lord hath His way in the whirlwind”
Kathy — Our names are written in the Book of Life. It’s not just a list of names. Our names are written in several chapters of God’s plans. Maybe your part is to raise a daughter who will be a godly influence in a school system or to build a moral stronghold in the business community or to encourage righteous politics in ten families by 2024. You might be an encourager that God will use in a 1000 different settings. Rev.3:5,TPT — “And the one who experiences victory will be dressed in white robes and I will never, no never erase your name from the Book of Life. I will acknowledge your name before my Father and his angels.”
As the people of God assemble today may they be assured that the present facts they are dealing with in their lives, their family and the nation do not get to dictate the future. The present facts are not the end of the story. Jer.29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Melissa — How do you know if what you are hearing is God? Well, does it line up with His word? For instance, murder and adultery… not God! Also, He trains you to hear Him. “The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made even both of them.” (Proverbs 2:12) Sometimes we train ourselves to ignore the prophetic lifestyle because we don’t want to be weird. This really is an epic life we are meant to live — not fairytale or fantasy, but epic. Why epic? Unlike fairytale or fantasy that denote magic, rainbows and butterflies, and other-worldly superhumans, “epic” denotes work, grit, fight, humans living their destiny and winning. So, don’t ignore His training. Don’t ignore that relationship.
“Sanctify” means “separate yourself.” Get rid of the things that are extra, added weight. Get rid of the things that are not the image of Christ. Let go of attitudes that don’t fit Kingdom thinking. Elders, deacons, bishops and presbyters won’t be able to help you on this one because none of us have been this way before. (Cf. Josh 10:14 and there was no day like that before it or after it.) I heard a conference speaker say, “The Lord of life leaves enough mystery to be intrusive, disruptive and surprising in order that He might shatter our tendencies to predictability; and yes even boredom. Saints die of many things but to die of boredom is an insult to the God of an ever-expanding glory.” Though some of us desperately long for the routine of our lives to be radically changed we are disturbed and consequently resistant when confronted with the acts of God’s power which are required to change them. In order for God Almighty to radically change the present state of our lives, for Him to bring reformation to our nation we must allow Him to forcefully break in upon us. Nahum 1:3— “…the Lord hath His way in the whirlwind” (Nahum 1:3). That means that we will not escape the Whirlwind.

Kathy — The best way to teach our children is by example. As we daily learn to think like God thinks, that becomes our legacy and influence. A healthy legacy makes it essential to get the basics right. The starting place is how we think about our salvation. Many generations have been taught that salvation is just an escape from hell, but they need to think differently. Salvation is empowerment for life! Rom.1:16-17,TPT— “I refuse to be ashamed of the wonderful message of God’s liberating power unleashed in us through Christ! For I am thrilled to preach that everyone who believes is saved—the Jew first, and then people everywhere! 17 This gospel unveils a continual revelation of God’s righteousness—a perfect righteousness given to us when we believe. And it moves us from receiving life through faith, to the power of living by faith. This is what the Scripture means when it says: “We are right with God through life-giving faith!”
The Crystalaires singing “Until You’ve Known The Love of God” In 1969 Marty Gabler, Kathy Buchanan Gabler and Alice Gabler Ogilvie recorded “The Love of God” written by Rusty Goodman. It was recorded at the Nashville Sound Studio on Jensen Dr. in north Houston.

Melissa — You are a representative of heaven during your lifetime. “But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A CONSECRATED NATION, A [special] PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9, Amplified) The prophetic lifestyle opens opportunities, timing, and connections. Opportunities: having the ears to hear to be at the right place at the right time for yourself and others. Timing: none of us understand the timing of God because He is working on so many levels. It takes a prophetic lifestyle to see beyond the limited vision of our normal dimensions. It can keep you sane where timing is concerned. Connection: Brings lives together for God team-ups, projects, events, etc. We were never meant to do life alone (1 Corinthians 12:20-21). In this day and age, this way of life is a total necessity for the body of Christ.
Isa.66:8 — “Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things?
Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be
born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.”
On May 14, 1948 Britain withdrew their mandate over Palestine and David
Ben-Gurion announced the formation of the new state of Israel, much to
the chagrin of the Arabs and other enemies of Israel, for a nation was
born in a day in spite of disappointments and delays and misinterpretations
of events for hundreds of years. After the prophecy was given millions of
people went to their graves never seeing Israel become a nation. But you
and I have seen it. Keep holding on to the word of the Lord. It does not fail.
Hab.2:3, Amp — “For the vision is yet for the appointed [future] time It
hurries toward the goal [of fulfillment]; it will not fail. Even though it delays,
wait [patiently] for it, Because it will certainly come; it will not delay.”
Kathy — Recently a friend told me of an open vision she had. Sitting at a red light she saw a thick cloud that was low to the ground. Suddenly, the air was sucked out of her body as she saw into the cloud to see it was filled with angels, warring angels, armed and mounted on horses. The horses were jumping with nostrils flaring as they anxiously waited to charge into battle. Overwhelmed by what she was seeing, she cried out and shouted to God, “It’s BIG! God, it’s so BIG!” Another friend while praying for the nation also saw an angel army on horseback getting ready to be released. The vision impacted her, convincing her that God is answering the cries for our nation and what He is doing is far BIGGER than we knew to ask. There is no telling how many have seen God’s angelic forces positioned for assignment in our behalf, and each of these moments of awareness are prompts for the ekklesia to say, “YES” to God’s agenda!
As the people of God assemble today may they sing about, testify about, hear about and encourage one another about their confidence in their heavenly Father to be and do what He has promised in His never-failing Word. May they decide that they will not move from off of that firm foundation of His Word that will find them confident in the face of any storm or threat knowing that “no matter what the case may be, I know He’s gonna fix it for me.”
Heb.13:6,TPT—“So we can say with great confidence:‘I know the Lord is for me and I will never be afraid of what people may do to me!’”.
The Crystalaires singing “I’ve Got Confidence” The Crystalaires: Marty Gabler, Kathy Buchanan Gabler and Alice Gabler Ogilvie recorded “I’ve Got Confidence” (written by Andre Crouch) in 1969. Kathy is singing the lead and playing piano. The Crystalaires opened for Andre on one occasion when he sang in Houston. Marty and Alice’s father pastored Jensen Drive Assembly of God and they sang there every Sunday morning that they were not traveling as a trio and preacher.
