Let’s get this down to daily. It is going to take thinking past our frustrations as just being frustrations and realizing they are a signal to stop and find out what is not lining up with Father’s will in heaven at this moment! It is going to take thinking past aches and pains being normal to see what needs to be addressed to bring Father’s order. It is going to take thinking past the predictions on the news to see Father’s plans in motion. It is going to take daily thinking past attitudes and moods and atmospheres that are tolerated because they are familiar, so we realize the need to clear the air for His purpose and the advancing of His Kingdom.

In our culture, when we hear the word “government,” most people think politics. However, when God says “government,” He thinks relationship. When we hear “dominion”, we think aspiring to a throne, but when God says “dominion,” He thinks obedience. Our thinking is really distorted if we think of dominion as arrogantly doing what we want, when we want. That’s not dominion, that’s just ditzy-dingy! We see why Jesus said, “Repent,” before He said “the Kingdom is in reach.” It’s going to take changing our minds and thinking past our experience and our environment and our examples and our personal agendas to reach for the order of heaven and bring it into the earth.

If you think about it even now, this long after Calvary, over 2000 years after Jesus, the Last Adam restored the breach caused by the “1st Adam-bomb,” we are still more conditioned to explain our limitations than to exceed them. I grew up in church, but I never heard anyone preach that I could reach into God’s governmental order and change things in earth. I’ve known more Fig-Leaf-Fugitives than Supermen in the church. It’s sad, but church people usually know more about condemnation than they do dominion. Maybe we haven’t been reaching into the governmental order of heaven to bring it to earth because churchianity has made us more pious than powerful. It certainly shouldn’t be an either/or, but many Christians are better church-goers than they are sons. Our firstpriority should be to focus on being a son who knows his Father and knows Him well enough to know what Father has already done, as well as what Father is presently doing, so we can be sons who take dominion and cause things on earth to line up with that.

The storm disturbed the disciples enough to wake Jesus up, and He sounded frustrated when He got up and said, “Why are you so fearful with no confidence?” After all, they were His disciples in training and they had been right beside Jesus just days before when He confronted leprosy and fever and demons and a withered hand. They saw Him face off with Pharisees and the law and they saw Jesus take dominion and prevail in every confrontation. They had heard Him say “repent,” meaning think differently and be confident that God’s Kingdom, His government order is within REACH, but He couldn’t REST because they didn’t REACH! I think we could paraphrase Him and say: “When are you going to get this? When are you going to REACH into the Kingdom and quit being paralyzed by experience, ignorance, fears, flaws and limitations and doubts and unbelief?”

In the New Testament, the Dominion Mandate is in Matthew 6:9,10— “Therefore pray this way, Father, your Kingdom come, your will be 
done on earth as it is in Heaven.” Notice that dominion is not a matter of asking God to act. Your Kingdom come, your will be done is not a petition. It is a declaration of agreement with God’s will on earth as it is in heaven. Jesus didn’t petition God to stop the storm. Neither did He petition nature to be nice. He demonstrated dominion. Jesus did not have to work up the courage to address the storm. His dominion over nature was not in question at any point. This is fairly evident since the storm didn’t even disturb His sleep.

Jesus preached “the Kingdom is at hand” meaning it is reachable. He not only demonstrated dominion over everything assigned to Adam, He demonstrated dominion over any contradiction to Kingdom order “as it is in heaven,” be it sickness, disease, devils, poverty, corruption, legalism or injustice. He exemplified a son that creation groans for.

Even after the “Adam-Bomb,” even after they disobeyed God and left the garden to live stressed and sweaty lives; and even after they raised a self-willed son who murdered his brother, God did not change His mind or His original mandate. Even after the breach and the fall of 
man, the Kingdom and the Mandate of dominion were still in effect! Even before Jesus–the Restorer of the Breach–came to fix it, evidence of the dominion mandate showed up again and again in Old Testament characters who walked in dominion. It was an Old Testament man (Elijah) who took dominion over the weather and called a 3½ year drought. It was an Old Testament man who took dominion over the natural element, iron, and made it contradict its own properties and float. It was an Old Testament man who took dominion over depletion to supply the widow’s oil. It was an Old Testament boy who took dominion over an army’s dilemma and killed a giant. It was an Old Testament man who took dominion over the sun and told it to be still for an entire day! It was an Old Testament man who took dominion over death and raised the Shunammite’s son! Even still, these are just a few of many more Old Testament examples of dominion. Then God sent His Son, the Second and the Last Adam, to be the First Born among many sons, because God intended the list to get longer and it is still increasing.

We have heard quite a lot from within Christian ranks that we should give special leeway for those of other religious viewpoints, yet 
ink is not wasted WHEN THE BIBLE SPEAKS of the necessity in honoring the Son of God–JESUS.

Adam’s failure to take dominion over that serpent, creeping creature, was a disobedience that caused a direct disconnect in relationship with the Father Creator, and it caused a breach in Adam and Eve’s domain. That whisper from the tongue of that creeper, opened a can of stink and his bad breath filled the garden. It opened the earth to a realm of opposition and contradiction to heaven’s order. This first “ADAM-BOMB” mushroomed over the garden and Adam and Eve were smothering in the smell of failure; so they hid and became fugitives in fig leaves.

We first see the connection between Kingdom and dominion in the garden. God’s creation was reflecting His governmental order as in heaven and God created Adam to be His earthly-dominion-agent. (Gen 1:28) Adam was to rule over: all God had created in earth: fish, fowl, animals and all creepers in it. There was no opposition to hinder God’s order in the garden. Communion between God and Adam was unobstructed. (The essential Father/son relationship was alive and well.) So in Gen. 3, when the voice or sound of the Lord came walking in the garden, that was nothing unusual except that, earlier that day, there was another voice or sound in the garden, a hiss, a whisper of the serpent. (The root word for serpent in Hebrew is “hiss” which means “whisper, enchant or prognosticate.”) He slithered into the garden with a whisper, and he slithered out with a stolen taste of dominion. Under the influence of that trespasser’s sound, man gave the devil a seat on his board of dominion.

Dominion is a noun the same as “faith” is a noun. Dominion, like Faith, is one of those nouns that requires action. Dominion, like faith, is a posture, a means, a response to truth and the character of God. Dominion, like faith, starts with a God-focus. We can think of dominion as a son’s part on earth to see that things here reflect Father’s government order and plan. So, the anthem of dominion is “on earth as it is in heaven.”

Let’s get this down to daily. It is going to take thinking past our frustrations as just being frustrations and realizing they are a signal to stop and find out what is not lining up with Father’s will in heaven at this moment! It is going to take thinking past aches and pains being normal to see what needs to be addressed to bring Father’s order. It is going to take thinking past the predictions on the news to see Father’s plans in motion. It is going to take daily thinking past attitudes and moods and atmospheres that are tolerated because they are familiar, so we realize the need to clear the air for His purpose and the advancing of His Kingdom.
If you think about it even now, this long after Calvary, over 2000 years after Jesus, the Last Adam restored the breach caused by the “1st Adam-bomb,” we are still more conditioned to explain our limitations than to exceed them. I grew up in church, but I never heard anyone preach that I could reach into God’s governmental order and change things in earth. I’ve known more Fig-Leaf-Fugitives than Supermen in the church. It’s sad, but church people usually know more about condemnation than they do dominion. Maybe we haven’t been reaching into the governmental order of heaven to bring it to earth because churchianity has made us more pious than powerful. It certainly shouldn’t be an either/or, but many Christians are better church-goers than they are sons. Our firstpriority should be to focus on being a son who knows his Father and knows Him well enough to know what Father has already done, as well as what Father is presently doing, so we can be sons who take dominion and cause things on earth to line up with that.

The storm disturbed the disciples enough to wake Jesus up, and He sounded frustrated when He got up and said, “Why are you so fearful with no confidence?” After all, they were His disciples in training and they had been right beside Jesus just days before when He confronted leprosy and fever and demons and a withered hand. They saw Him face off with Pharisees and the law and they saw Jesus take dominion and prevail in every confrontation. They had heard Him say “repent,” meaning think differently and be confident that God’s Kingdom, His government order is within REACH, but He couldn’t REST because they didn’t REACH! I think we could paraphrase Him and say: “When are you going to get this? When are you going to REACH into the Kingdom and quit being paralyzed by experience, ignorance, fears, flaws and limitations and doubts and unbelief?”

It is a declaration of agreement with God’s will on earth as it is in heaven. Jesus didn’t petition God to stop the storm. Neither did He petition nature to be nice. He demonstrated dominion. Jesus did not have to work up the courage to address the storm. His dominion over nature was not in question at any point. This is fairly evident since the storm didn’t even disturb His sleep. 
Jesus preached “the Kingdom is at hand” meaning it is reachable. He not only demonstrated dominion over everything assigned to Adam, He demonstrated dominion over any contradiction to Kingdom order “as it is in heaven,” be it sickness, disease, devils, poverty, corruption, legalism or injustice. He exemplified a son that creation groans for.

Dominion, like faith, is a posture, a means, a response to truth and the character of God. Dominion, like faith, starts with a God-focus. We can think of dominion as a son’s part on earth to see that things here reflect Father’s government order and plan. So, the anthem of dominion is “on earth as it is in heaven.”
