Pursuing Jesus This Year
(Larry Burden) “As 2018 is now in motion, anticipate the extraordinary manifestations of the Holy Spirit as you continue to pursue the realities of our Father’s eternal kingdom. It is our year to grow in maturity, to increase in spiritual strength and to prosper in our assignments of the harvest. It is our year to expect the unexpected interventions of God in our life situations. We must not confuse our conditions with the truth of God’s character. We must expect extraordinary health, expect our prayers to be answered, and grow in our confidence in God! Remember, it is not what we think we are that stops our growth, it is what we think we are not that stops us. What we pursue, we become like. Let’s pursue Jesus with all our hearts this year!” (Larry will be speaking at Kingdom Congress 2018 March 7-9.)

Call on Him
During a time of ministry at a recent meeting a revered Prophet told me, “Read Jeremiah 33:3 everyday and watch what happens.” It’s certainly not an unfamiliar passage, but perhaps one that is easily forgotten in the midst of all the hustle, bustle and chaos. So, here you go (in 3 versions for impact):
“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jer. 33:3 KJV
“Call to Me and I will answer you, and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.” Jer. 33:3 AMP
“Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.” Jer. 33:3 MSG. (First excerpt from Melissa Gabler’s article “Call on Him”.)

Seeing the Intervener
When Marty said that the word he heard was “See the Intervener intervene,” that confirmed to me I’d had a glimpse of exactly that. At God-intersections, when He reveals His doings, we witness not only His acts but also His might and love and faithfulness. Seeing beyond the “what” to the “who” He will most certainly stir us to worship and our worship is a sound of agreement from the earth regarding who He is in Heaven! I don’t know yet all that His breakthroughs have prepped and set in motion, but I believe we will recognize them as the Intervener intervening in the weeks to come.(Last excerpt from Kathy’s article “Breakthroughs Coming”.)

A Sense of More to Come
As the people of God assemble today may His people have a sense of the more that is to come of His purposes and His outpourings. May the hope of receiving and participating fill their hearts with expectancy. “In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary–we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!” (Rom.5:5, Msg)

JESUS SAVES AND HEALS
In front of the church where my father pastored for 22 years, on Jensen Drive in North Houston, there was a lighted cross high up on a pole. The vertical portion read “JESUS”, the left arm read “SAVES” and the right arm read “HEALS”. When my father got wondrously saved in the downtown Houston area he was taught the Word of God by Mother Hudson, Dad Richey, Raymond T. Richey, Brother Gerhardt, Harry Hodge and several other men and women of God he spoke to me of over the years. The message he was taught was always JESUS and that same JESUS HEALS AND SAVES. I heard him preach that message hundreds of times and know of many people it impacted and lives that were changed. It still impacts me and my preaching. I am the 13th preacher to come out from under my father’s ministry at Jensen Drive Assembly of God. I have preached that message hundreds of times over the last 46 years and I cannot help but encourage you with it again, JESUS SAVES AND HEALS!

Being Still and Watching
A unique aspect of the experience of the storm vision was that I was not being awakened to intercede in prayer but to be aware of what God Himself was doing. It seemed He was saying, “There is a time to be still and watch for my move,”; there is a time to “Be still and know that I am God”. We can certainly participate with our Father through prayer and we can participate through receiving His answers with a grateful heart. Beyond that, we can also participate simply as a witness to what He is doing. (Fifth excerpt from Kathy’s article “Breakthroughs Coming”— First excerpt was posted on 1-15-18)

Having Influence
We cannot have any more influence with someone than they have value for us. When we refresh someone or meet a need, value is established. Friendship and loyalty are of great value. “They have refreshed my spirit and yours. You should recognize the value of people like these.” (1Cor.16:18, NCV)

Cleaving to God and Seeing Promise
It is God’s will for us to walk in the commandments of the LORD GOD and keep His Word so that our days may be increased. God increases our days so that we, and our children, might walk in the realization of promise fulfilled. (Deut.11:21-22, Amp) “That your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give them, as long as the heavens are above the earth. 22 For if you diligently keep all this commandment which I command you to do, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, and to cleave to Him—“ We are praying you discover daily that you are cleaving to God and keeping His life-giving Word. Stirring for Breakthrough
After the second week when I was awakened to a literal storm, seven days later, I awoke at 3:00 A.M. This time there was silence. I went to the living room and sat on the sofa. I knew in the Bible that the number three marks the completion of a God-process for a God-purpose. The first week, I had heard the sounds of battle as the Lord of breakthroughs cleared a gate into the earth. In the second week, I heard His voice thunder from the first heaven, it’s creative force breaking into the earth’s atmosphere with His spoken intent. The silence of this third week seemed to be a seal of completion upon His breakthroughs. I remembered again that what I was witnessing was completely His doing like He said in John 14:14, “I myself will do for you.” A confidence settled in me that a God-momentum had been loosed in the earth that would bring God-changes in the days ahead. I knew He was breaking through for many more than just myself, but the impact on me personally stirred me to hope and to worship. Encouragement to Move Forward
As the people of God assemble today, may they report to one another and encourage one another with dreams, visions and prophetic confirmations that inspire each one to move forward in faith and hope to the horizons Almighty God has as He manifests His sons/daughters as salve and solution to the groaning of creation. (1Thess.5:11, NKJV) ”Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.”

Is it Really God’s Fault?
(Gen 1:28a) “And God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule…” Considering the definitions of God’s original (and unchanged) intention (“subdue” and “rule”), it would appear that we have a mission laid out before us with authority to get it done. Scripture offers the understanding that the Last Adam has won back all that the first Adam forfeited. It would appear that God actually is not responsible for evil happenings since He handed over the earth to Adam to “subjugate,” “prevail against,” “reign,” “tread down” and “keep under”. Life Meant to be Epic
“The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made both of them.” (Prov.20:12) We are all capable of living a prophetic lifestyle without being a Prophet. Sometimes we train ourselves to ignore the Prophetic Lifestyle because we don’t want to be weird. This really is an epic life we are meant to live. Don’t ignore it. This life is meant to be epic!—Melissa

Dreams Can Help Us
The definition of the Hebrew word dream, “chalam” (khay lem) means to strengthen, restore to health or facilitate recovery. So, these dreams can help us physically, psychologically and emotionally by getting issues up into our awareness where we can confront them and resolve them and not allow them to silently undermine us or our health.—Kathy Gabler

Thunder: “To Call Aloud”
The following week after I had the vision about the war and the storm, exactly seven days later at 3:00 A.M., I was awakened again, this time to a literal storm. Thunder rattled the windows. The thunder was loud, unnerving and unending. It seemed to be right over our house, pounding the windows and walls and it brought me fully awake. I sat up and awaited understanding and instructions to pray as the atmosphere around me seemed electric. The most unusual thing about the thunder was that it was not coming in abrupt crashes but rather in a steady drumming sound in the heavens. After what seemed half an hour or so, the thunderous vibrations slowly moved away, but I could still hear the continuous rumbling in the distance.
I looked up the Hebrew meaning of “thunder” which is “to call aloud; a voice or sound, a proclamation”. “Thunder crashes and rumbles in the skies. Listen! It’s God raising his voice! Job 26:11. And this is only the beginning, a mere whisper of His rule. Whatever would we do if He really raised his voice!” Job 26:14 “Whenever this happens, my heart stops– I’m stunned, I can’t catch my breath. Listen to it! Listen to His thunder, the rolling, rumbling thunder of His voice. He lets loose His lightnings from horizon to horizon, lighting up the earth from pole to pole. In their wake, the thunder echoes his voice, powerful and majestic. He lets out all the stops, He holds nothing back. No one can mistake that voice– His word thundering so wondrously, His mighty acts staggering our understanding.” (Job 37:1-5) The week before, I had seen Him break through second heaven to release His will into the earth. This week, I sat listening to His voice charge the earth’s atmosphere and make it tremble with anticipation. Not Doze at Time of Opportunity
May the people of God be stirred to awaken to the light of Christ who shows them the path away from fraud and error. May they awaken from all sense of slumber and not doze at time of opportunity. “Wake up from your sleep, Climb out of your coffins; Christ will show you the light!” (Eph. 5:14, Msg)

Breakthroughs Coming
I went to bed with a sense of a storm gathering and I fell asleep praying. I stirred once or twice with a definite awareness of war in the heavenlies. A little after 3:00 A.M., I awoke to the sounds of battle, swords clashing and noisy chaos. In a vision, I watched silhouettes in battle and knew I was seeing war in second heaven. I thought of the archangel Michael warring to get the answer to Daniel’s prayer to him and I realized this war was getting God’s will to earth again. I did not have the pulse of what God was doing or what prayers He was answering, so I knelt on the bed and asked Him, “How do I pray? What do I do?” But His answer was surprising, “Just watch what I’m doing.” So, I silently watched and waited for God’s outcome. Lightning flashed and thunder crashed so loudly in the vision that it seemed to be a real storm inside the hotel room until 3:45 A.M. When the battle sounds subsided, I could only hear the sound of rain, heavy rain. The vision continued. I saw the sides of a river being torn away by the force of gushing flood waters. I knew I was seeing a breakthrough that night that would bring changes as surely as the gushing waters were changing the course of that river. I was reminded of 2Sam.5:20, and Baal-perazim, which means “the Lord of breakthroughs” or the “Owner of breakthroughs”. I fell into a deep sleep, confident God was doing something awesome and had broken through opposition to get things from Heaven to earth. (First excerpt from Kathy’s article “Breakthroughs Coming”)

Keep Moving Forward
As the people of God assemble today, may they not look back at the failures and things not completed in the past year but look forward to what the Lord has prepared for them to receive and participate in throughout the coming days. May they look into His Word and may they take Him at His Word, endure and look forward and keep moving forward. ”…He always provides a way of escape so that you will be able to endure and keep moving forward.” (1Cor.10:13b, Voice)

I am Healed
“I AM healed” is a great statement with several notable pieces of information in it. It is a double decree. It is (1) proclaiming what is already done and (2) it is also proclaiming the fact that I am agreeing with it.—Melissa Gabler

No Hope is too Small
The sound of hope is never insignificant. Hope is the sound of heaven moved into the earth through songs, preaching of the Word of God, prophecy, conversation, teaching and testimonies. No hope is too small. “…the mere sound of his name will signal hope, even among far-off unbelievers.” (Matt.12:21, Msg)

Truth as Counterforce
If we just talk about what we sense or what is going on, that is like laying a ticking bomb in the laps of others instead of diffusing it! Anything that is contradictory to God’s will should be confronted with God’s Truth. The Truth is Jesus. The truth is His Word and character and purpose in earth as in heaven, and we can speak it and release it as a counterforce to contradictions, and it will make a difference. As believers and sons of God we cannot be more focused on conditions than the Truth. If we intend to pray in faith, we must think according to His Word and principles and character, instead of falling into upset over circumstances. —Kathy Gabler

May Opposition Break
May the Lord grant that seasons of weariness and relentless opposition over your life break and dissipate like the morning mist. “But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This [peace, righteousness, security, TRIUMPH OVER OPPOSITION] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord [those in whom the ideal Servant of the Lord is reproduced]; this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from Me [this is that which I impart to them as their justification], says the Lord.” (Isa.54:17, Amp)

Sensitive and Faithful
2018 Declaration #4—OUR HEARTS AND MINDS WILL BE SENSITIVE AND FAITHFUL—Kids: Holy Spirit will be our guide!
We will set our hearts and minds to be faithful in our sensitivity toward the Holy Spirit and the Word of God so that we do not simply involve ourselves or embrace just anything that comes along or that the rest of society believes is acceptable.
“…he continuously exhorted (warned, urged, and encouraged) them all to cleave unto and remain faithful to and devoted to the Lord with [resolute and steady] purpose of heart.” (Acts 11:23, AMPC)

Standing on the Promises
As the people of God assemble today, may they, as one, reach forward into the year with expectancy, with commitment and with their faith firmly planted in Christ Jesus and His unfailing Word. May they stand on His promises and proclaim them to one another and for one another. “Yet, looking to the promise of God, he didn’t waver through unbelief, but grew strong through faith, giving glory to God.” (Rom.4:20,WEB)
