As the people of God assemble today may they allow Holy Spirit to minister to them the reality of the fact that there is an active work of God going on in them. Melissa — Some of us have confused trust with diligence. By “diligence” I mean we handle, fixate on, and stay worried about a problem until it’s fixed. That is nowhere in the definition of trust. It’s not only the opposite of trust, but it is seething with dysfunction and disease. A lack of trust is one of our worst enemies. We might be blaming things on the devil that are really a lack of trust in our own lives. I’m sure the devil doesn’t mind when we blame him for such things because it makes his job easier.

There are a variety of excuses for not going through God-ordained doors. Some of the doors are just beyond temptation, some just beyond ignorance and neglect and some are just beyond lethargy. Temptation can be resisted, ignorance can be displaced by willful pursuance of knowledge and wisdom. Neglect can be exchanged for responsible activity and lethargy can be handled by self-government. Kathy — Sometimes a gate God builds is not a welcomed sight. It looks like a risk to us or a scary unknown. We feel like we have the option to decide to just stay safely within our fence and familiar boundaries. The problem is that if we ignore the gates, we are locking ourselves into tradition just like the Pharisees. We rarely see ourselves as Pharisees, but we too build personal traditions of men through the way we personally process instruction or the way we establish our own priorities or the way we come to our personal conclusions. Our thought processes and priorities and conclusions are filters that can literally keep us from hearing what God is saying and thereby keep us refusing to acknowledge the Holy Spirit’s direction in our daily life. So, “you make the word of God of none effect through your tradition, (KJV). And you ignore God’s commands in order to follow your own teaching. “(CEV) Mark 7:13

I saw people with several leeches attached to them and sucking life out of them. But the Great Physician (Mk.2:17), the Lord Jesus, is skillfully and surgically coming to remove those leeches by the ministry of His Spirit and His Word. There are people who have experienced the attaching of those “leeches” through the flooding and the flow of what is going on in culture and society and current events. There is a great deal of criticism in the atmosphere over our nation. It is spreading into every area and every kind of relationship. There are many battles and struggles between entities and interest groups in our nation. These “leeches” in the form of fear, doubt, concerns, and distress are sucking life and vitality and hope out of people. I declare that those “leeches” that have been sucking life from people, sucking enthusiasm, sucking energy and sucking hope will be removed. I declare that the great physician is skillfully removing those leeches from you. I declare that there won’t be any form of “septic reaction”, there aren’t going to be any wounds left to fester after the removal of those “leeches”. In place of those things, I speak to you life in Christ Jesus, I speak to you the life of His Word, I speak to you renewal, restoration. I want to declare over you that all of the negative stuff that has been going on for the last year and a half or so and that has been bombarding you, that which has been stolen from you, those things that have stolen peace, even stolen money, that which has stolen relationships, that which has stolen opportunities is being healed by the Great Physician as He administers His Spirit and His Word to your life. The Bible says that when the thief steals he is required to return seven times what he stole (Prov.6:31). May the Lord Jesus Christ minister to you deliverance, healing and seven times what the enemy has stolen from you.

Starting on course is a great deal easier than staying the course. The admirable intentions we begin with may fall prey to the wily snares of unexpected interruptions, self-pity and obligations to family, friends and all of human kind. Starting on course and staying the course may prove to be very costly. But the loss of that which would never be gained is inestimable. 2Tim.4:7,TPT—“I have fought an excellent fight. Chaos represents utmost impossibility to man and covers him with hopeless despair where he is willing to lay down his beliefs and former commitments so that he may gain some semblance of comfort in spite of the dreaded disorder (“Chaos”: a disorderly, confused, condition or state). Throughout history there have been perpetrators of confusion who have, for the 
purpose of control, attempted to throw the populace into confusion in order to coerce them into turning over their freedom for relief. Many to the south and east of the USA have already done that and are praying for the USA to wake up and realize that we must speak out and act now to preserve our constitution and nation. Chaos and its bold, inclusive threats will not prevail if God’s people will humble themselves and pray (2Chron.7:14) and take a stand in spite of brash attempts of darkness to limit and/ or remove freedoms. If God could create the worlds out of nothing, surely we can see and take tremendous hope of His creating righteous order out of the chaos of self-focused, power-hungry people.

Melissa — This passage is a perfect tool for this time: Proverbs 2:3-6, “make your ear attentive to wisdom and incline your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and 
search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;” Ask for insight and understanding and you will begin to awaken to the fear of the Lord. Then you will understand how to navigate through what is at hand and what is to come. Kathy — Being quick to put our expectations and definitions on a word from God can set us up for disappointment because we know in part. We must allow God to define terms and add parts. Through the process we more fully 
understand what He said up front. So, no matter how contradictory or upsetting a part might seem, we can rest assured when all the parts finally come together, God’s intent and purpose will prevail. Isa.46:10, TPT — “I declare from the beginning how it will end and foretell from the start what has not yet happened. I decree that my purpose will stand, and I will fulfill my every plan.”

Melissa — It came to me that to actually trust God meant to actually let go of needing to know the process of getting to an answer. I’ve never functioned like that. Unfortunately my M.O. has been to ask and believe for a God-outcome while all along fixating on my logic’s only conclusion as to how that could happen. That, my friends, will WEAR. YOU. OUT.
