God’s Will in the Now
KATHY GABLER — His Kingdom has already been in effect, now is in effect and will be in effect always. That contradicts that silent “someday” that would keep the Kingdom of God out of reach during our lifetime, or keep “righteousness and peace and joy” in His presence only a future, someday realization (Rom 14:17). How messed up is it to think that righteousness, peace and joy are unreachable until you die? That thinking would make “Thy Kingdom come” a death request. Could we get any more perversely opposite to the heart of God than that? Could we deny His New Covenant provision any louder than that? If we think that His Kingdom (meaning His rule and His order) cannot come into earth now when we pray, is it any wonder that manifestations of His power show up piecemeal rather than bulk, or sporadically rather than continually? Standing With US
As the people of God assemble today may Holy Spirit bring conviction that He is surely standing with them and they are not in the battle by themselves. And, by the enablement of Holy Spirit, may they stand with one another in the battles that try to take the brethren down and put them out of the good fight of faith. 2Tim.4:16-18a,TPT—“At first there was no one I could count on to faithfully stand with me—they all ran off and abandoned me—but don’t hold this against them. 17 For in spite of this, my Lord himself stood with me, empowering me to complete my ministry of preaching to all the non-Jewish nations so they all could hear the message and be delivered from the mouth of the lion! 18 And my Lord will continue to deliver me…”

Awakening and Reformation
DR. GREG CRAWFORD — A few years ago the Lord told me, “Your message this week is written on the capital wall. Go to the state capital and get your message.” I went to the capital and began my search. I read everything hanging on all the walls. I read plaques and things posted on every floor and almost every public room. I was coming up with nothing. As I kept ascending to the very top floor in the rotunda, I finally found it. Written around the very top were the words, “that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” The words “a new birth of freedom” are what stood out. I would later learn this was Lincoln’s last line of the Gettysburg address. The Lord spoke to me and said, “This will become the rallying point for the awakening and reformation you seek. This will be the common sound that will unite and draw people to a common cause.” I assumed that was for my state but today I see it is for the nation.

Something Churning
MELISSA — I feel something big churning as of late. I do know that some of it is about the remainder of the decade, but more importantly I believe this discernment is about getting ready for the rest of 2023. I believe that the latter part of 2023 is very significant to how we enter the rest of the decade. As I write this I see a picture of the American flag being raised by brave Marines at Iwo Jima during World War II. In researching this battle this statement stuck out, “The battle was won by the inch-by-inch tenacity of the foot soldier”. 2023 will be won “by the inch-by-inch tenacity of the foot soldier,” right now. For those that struggle with an all-or-nothing drive, (like me) the statement “inch-by-inch tenacity” can be almost devastating. I really prefer a battle being done in a one-glorious-moment tenacity! Here’s the thing with the remainder of 2023, the inch-by-inch is going to lead to many glorious moments in the coming years.

Extraordinary Events
Consider the nation of Israel when they were murmuring about the food situation in the wilderness in Exodus Chapter 16. That whole scenario was an opportunity for every person involved to stop, look and listen to what was transpiring and conclude that these were not just a series of events that were simply to be written down in a history book somewhere. When they woke up that first morning of the manna event they discovered something so extraordinary that they didn’t know what to call it. So, they ended up calling it “what is it?” (v.15). They, however, did not adjust to the new era and did not change their thinking and old habits. They continued trying to operate by old mindsets, did not heed the instructions of Moses and ended up with a smelly, undesirable mess (v.20). A new era cannot be new and cannot be the vehicle carrying us to new results if we intend operating in the mindsets of the old era. The never-before-experienced extraordinary of the new season turned to waste and to something that was untenable because the Israelites refused to operate by the tenets of the new (v.19). A new threshold serves little or no purpose if we have no intention of operating in the new with the respective new mindset. New eras are themselves announcements of new norms.

Definitions and Disappointments
Kathy — Being quick to put our expectations and definitions on a word from God can set us up for disappointment, because we know in part. We must allow God to define terms and add parts. Through the process we more fully understand what He said up front. So, no matter how contradictory or upsetting a part might seem, we can rest assured when all the parts finally come together, God’s intent and purpose will prevail. Departure Platform or Kingdom Mandate?
As long as there are a people who feel they have their “ticket stamped” to go to a “much better place,” there will be no reform of what they deem to be merely an exit platform, rather than a Kingdom mandate (cf.Jn.20:21;Lk.9:2;Jn.16:7). If the departure platform is somewhat rickety, people will just try to stand still and hope the train out of there arrives soon. With such a view, no one reforms or rebuilds the platform; they simply grip what is available to grip and hope to be off of it as soon as possible. The emphasis today upon the sudden coming of the Lord isn’t about Him, it is about us. The religious pundits pounding their pulpits exclaiming the quick return of our Lord are getting hearty (and well financed) “Amens!” in response to their promises of sudden escape from disappointments, rudely jostled comfort zones and nerve-racking prognostication. We have been taught by pop-theology to use faith for immediate relief, not long-term endurance, not long-term results (Heb.11:13 does not figure into Esau’s demands for immediate relief). The Esau mindset of blowing off the coming generations and spending what you’ve got on relief for the present generation flies well in today’s skies. Joseph did not get immediate results (or relief) after his prophetic dream and prophetic pronouncement. He and Daniel and Esther were sent ahead to “preserve a posterity,” “continue a remnant” and “save lives.” (Gen.45:7 Amplified) Joseph stood and stood and took ground “until the Word of the Lord proved him” and he was not proven to guarantee him plenty of airtime and notoriety but for the survival of a nation (Ps.105:18). He was not dealt the luxurious right of faith for immediate relief or escape. But the result was the salvation of a nation and its being propelled into the future of its destiny for Jehovah’s purposes and Name’s sake. Do I Trust God?
(MELISSA)— As of late my meditation topic has been Trust. You know: “reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence.” (dictionary com) It should be a natural byproduct of being a believer. I thought so until God asked me if I trusted Him. Of course… wait, do I?! That’s an answer I thought was sure at this point in my life. The amazing thing is in that moment, trust made sense for the first time. All of a sudden there was a relief in my core that I’m not sure I have ever felt. Without Him saying a word, there was an understanding that actually trusting God meant to actually let go of needing to know the process of getting to an answer. A Revelatory Nugget
MELISSA— Have you ever had times when a revelatory nugget pops up, then within days you hear the same nugget from other sources? That’s been happening as of late and I’m learning to pay attention to those! Following is one such instance that has been not only ringing in my ear, but answering some of those seemingly unanswerable questions. While in conversation this was quoted to me from a book, “God hides some things for specific times so that the enemy cannot destroy them.” That stuck with me, and a couple of days later I read a quote from someone else that was expressing the exact same thought! Well, that really hit me between the eyes, especially because these came from trusted sources. It was an “Are you listening?” moment.
I began meditating on God hiding something for a specific time, and it felt like this statement began filling cracks in my understanding. If God cloaks something for a time, it is not only to hide it from the devil and his destructive minions, but it is also to hide it from our own self-sabotage. Yes, the devil and self-sabotage are two different things. However, the devil LOVES stoking the flames of self-sabotage! All we have to do is let our fears and concerns fall out of our mouths like kindling for the enemy’s threatening bonfire. So many times we make the devil’s job so easy.
