Melissa — How do you know if what you are hearing is God? Well, does it line up with His word? For instance, murder and adultery… not God! Also, He trains you to hear Him. “The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made even both of them.” (Proverbs 2:12) Sometimes we train ourselves to ignore the prophetic lifestyle because we don’t want to be weird. This really is an epic life we are meant to live — not fairytale or fantasy, but epic. Why epic? Unlike fairytale or fantasy that denote magic, rainbows and butterflies, and other-worldly superhumans, “epic” denotes work, grit, fight, humans living their destiny and winning. So, don’t ignore His training. Don’t ignore that relationship.
Melissa — This passage is a perfect tool for this time: Proverbs 2:3-6, “make your ear attentive to wisdom and incline your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;” Ask for insight and understanding and you will begin to awaken to the fear of the Lord. Then you will understand how to navigate through what is at hand and what is to come. This is our opportunity to demonstrate the Kingdom of God and leave an effectual legacy centered in the fear of the Lord. I’ve heard so many times over the last couple of years that revival is coming. Yes, revival is coming, and it will come through awakened people bowing their knee to the Almighty God. Melissa — Here is a key for being awake, “If you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.” (Prov. 2:3-6) When we wake up we have to have insight and understanding to be able to navigate what God is doing in this earth. How thrilling is it that we get to be alive for this? We just need to accept the invitation to be a part of what Father is doing. Gotta say, I accept even though I don’t even know what all is next. I’m just waking up to a whole new world, waiting for my eyes to clear up so I can see it!
WE WILL BE MORE AWARE THIS YEAR. Kid’s Version: We will believe God’s truth over everything else. The Lord will enable His people to be aware because there will be people attempting to dupe them, con them, use them. This coming year we will not just slough off “feelings” or a “sense of uneasiness”. We won’t do some religiously or politically correct thing and chide ourselves for “judging”. But we will weigh and measure people and circumstances against the unfailing truth of the Bible. 1Cor. 2:15–But the spiritual man tries all things [he examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], Prov.2:7-8, NLT –7 He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity 8 He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him. (From 2019 Declarations-Read them: martygabler.com/2019-declarations)
