What we need more than better politicians is an awakening (at least) move of God… in the Church, then the nation. God will never share, with mere political parties, the power He has designed to be exercised through the Church. In “God and Politics” Dennis Lindsey says, “Politicians are not to be looked to for complete social reform… The Church has been losing influence in America because it has been relying on politics to stop the moral and spiritual decay in society. Politics will not catalyze the change; it is simply a reflection of the environment. If the environment is rooted in Christian values, the politics of America will be rooted in Christian values… The spiritual revival and renewal of Christian faith needed in America will never originate from Washington. Once the spiritual climate changes, Washington will be changed. If the American Church thinks her salvation […] comes from Washington and a God-fearing president, then her hope is rooted in a counterfeit… God’s Church is not dependent on elections; it is dependent upon His Word, which declares, ‘… I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.’” (Matt 16:18)1 If we are not careful, we can just get to looking around and saying, “‘Such and such’ is what’s going on” and forget that God is at work.

Kathy — Our Father . . . The first emphasis in Jesus’ instruction was to start prayer from the “Our Father” position of a son to his father. This places priority on relationship rather than protocol and on heritage rather than hierarchy. Relationship assures us we can be confident of acceptance when we approach Him personally, face to face. Lack of relationship (1) leaves us unsure and at a distance, (2) a questionable guest in the throne room or (3) a needy outsider having to beg. Coming face to face is about knowing our Father well enough to see as He sees. If we don’t come face to face, we position ourselves on the peripheral where we are susceptible prey for misbeliefs about God. When men are too far away to really know Him as a son, they are more apt to lean to their own understanding and create images from their own imagination and experience, like the ancient Greeks did. The gods they created had so many human flaws that their supernatural powers over men were distorted to extremes by emotion and whim. If misbelief misrepresents God, it corrupts the potential and purpose of relationship and the motivation of the heart. Then there is no sonship and no “Our Father” entrance into the dimension of prayer Jesus taught.

Melissa—Trust keeps the door open to dwell in His presence. We stay around those we trust. Ps.84:11 “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord bestows grace and favor and honor; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” Trust is the gateway to God’s intentions for us, equipping, protection, grace, favor and all good things. It makes sense that the summation of this Psalm is, “O Lord of hosts, How blessed and greatly favored is the man who trusts in You.” On top of being born to trust, these are compelling reasons to do so.

As the people of God assemble today may the people of God yield to the Kingdom purposes of their Lord in this new era He is leading us into. May we yield to the adjustments and updates in our spiritual vision so that it may be broadened and more aware. May all hindrances and opposition be readily realized as challenges to overcome so that we may win the race. We declare that our present limitations are only present and not the future because we are being enlarged. Isa.54:2,TPT—““Increase is coming, so enlarge your tent and add extensions to your dwelling. Hold nothing back! Make the tent ropes longer and the pegs stronger.”

The people of God are His instruments that He is recalibrating to function effectively in a new era. When you have a rifle calibrated to hit a bull’s eye at 100 yards, you must recalibrate it if you are to enter an era of hunting at 200 yards. Entering this era, we will not wait until something happens to merely react, we shall see it at a distance and prepare. We have greater challenges ahead of us in the era that Holy Spirit has opened to us. We must lengthen our tent cords and stretch our curtains (Isa.54:2). Our satisfaction with the present view of limited horizons must give way to be broadened.

Kathy Gabler — While the most common understanding of prayer is an appeal or petition, I think The Lord’s Prayer illustrates a broader concept of prayer. I see it as a prayer of alignment with God’s Word and will and character, or a declaration of agreement with God’s order and principles and intent. If I viewed The Lord’s Prayer only as a petition, it would seem to be a formal format of how to properly ask for basic necessities. While there is nothing wrong with that, I think there is more life in it and more relationship demonstrated in His model prayer. This prayer takes on more dimension when it comes from a motive and priority to pray as sons/daughters who know and reflect their Father.

Melissa — Blessing and favor follow those who trust. Ps.84:6 “Passing through the Valley of Weeping (Baca), they make it a place of springs; The early rain also covers it with blessings.” Trust gets us through hard times so that we don’t make it our dwelling, and trust makes the hard times fruitful for not only us, but others. Trust is not a selfish act. Vs. 7 “They go from strength to strength [increasing in victorious power]; Each of them appears before God in Zion.” Well, that’s a mouth full! Trust causes strength, and it removes the clouds of doubt so that we can see God. Vs. 10 “For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]; I would rather stand [as a doorkeeper] at the threshold of the house of my God than to live [at ease] in the tents of wickedness.”

An essential principle of God is that “two are better than one” (Eccl.4:9). In the remainder of 2021 and right into 2022, there will be places scattered across nations where people of God will partner for effect. One shall set a 1000 to flight but two shall set 10,000 to flight. “If two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it shall be done for them…” (Matt.18:19). Melissa — Trust is a principle of the Kingdom. God knew what He was doing when He created it. It’s life-bearing, abundant-life-bearing. How beautiful it is that the principles of God are set in place to provide the John 10:10 abundant life for all who live them. He gave us a map for life. Check this out, Psalm 84:12 (AMP) “O Lord of hosts, How blessed and greatly favored is the man who trusts in You [believing in You, relying on You, and committing himself to You with confident hope and expectation].” Yes, that is beautiful. But check out the rest of Psalm 84. It literally lines out what a life looks like that trusts God. Vs. 4 “Blessed and greatly favored are those who dwell in Your house and Your presence; They will be singing Your praises all the day long. Selah.”

Melissa — Some of us have confused trust with diligence. By “diligence” I mean we handle, fixate on, and stay worried about a problem until it’s fixed. That is nowhere in the definition of trust. It’s not only the opposite of trust, but it is seething with dysfunction and disease. A lack of trust is one of our worst enemies. We might be blaming things on the devil that are really a lack of trust in our own lives. I’m sure the devil doesn’t mind when we blame him for such things because it makes his job easier.

Kathy — Sometimes a gate God builds is not a welcomed sight. It looks like a risk to us or a scary unknown. We feel like we have the option to decide to just stay safely within our fence and familiar boundaries. The problem is that if we ignore the gates, we are locking ourselves into tradition just like the Pharisees. We rarely see ourselves as Pharisees, but we too build personal traditions of men through the way we personally process instruction or the way we establish our own priorities or the way we come to our personal conclusions. Our thought processes and priorities and conclusions are filters that can literally keep us from hearing what God is saying and thereby keep us refusing to acknowledge the Holy Spirit’s direction in our daily life. So, “you make the word of God of none effect through your tradition, (KJV). And you ignore God’s commands in order to follow your own teaching. “(CEV) Mark 7:13

I saw people with several leeches attached to them and sucking life out of them. But the Great Physician (Mk.2:17), the Lord Jesus, is skillfully and surgically coming to remove those leeches by the ministry of His Spirit and His Word. There are people who have experienced the attaching of those “leeches” through the flooding and the flow of what is going on in culture and society and current events. There is a great deal of criticism in the atmosphere over our nation. It is spreading into every area and every kind of relationship. There are many battles and struggles between entities and interest groups in our nation. These “leeches” in the form of fear, doubt, concerns, and distress are sucking life and vitality and hope out of people. I declare that those “leeches” that have been sucking life from people, sucking enthusiasm, sucking energy and sucking hope will be removed. I declare that the great physician is skillfully removing those leeches from you. I declare that there won’t be any form of “septic reaction”, there aren’t going to be any wounds left to fester after the removal of those “leeches”. In place of those things, I speak to you life in Christ Jesus, I speak to you the life of His Word, I speak to you renewal, restoration. I want to declare over you that all of the negative stuff that has been going on for the last year and a half or so and that has been bombarding you, that which has been stolen from you, those things that have stolen peace, even stolen money, that which has stolen relationships, that which has stolen opportunities is being healed by the Great Physician as He administers His Spirit and His Word to your life. The Bible says that when the thief steals he is required to return seven times what he stole (Prov.6:31). May the Lord Jesus Christ minister to you deliverance, healing and seven times what the enemy has stolen from you.

As the people of God assemble today may they look beyond, around, over and right through the threatening hindrances that seem to be screaming out their determined obstinance to the fulfillment of God’s Kingdom purposes in their lives. May they lift up their heads and see their King of kings high and lifted up and authoritatively above all opposing factors and persons. Rom.8:28,Amp—“And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.”

Chaos represents utmost impossibility to man and covers him with hopeless despair where he is willing to lay down his beliefs and former commitments so that he may gain some semblance of comfort in spite of the dreaded disorder (“Chaos”: a disorderly, confused, condition or state). Throughout history there have been perpetrators of confusion who have, for the 
purpose of control, attempted to throw the populace into confusion in order to coerce them into turning over their freedom for relief. Many to the south and east of the USA have already done that and are praying for the USA to wake up and realize that we must speak out and act now to preserve our constitution and nation. Chaos and its bold, inclusive threats will not prevail if God’s people will humble themselves and pray (2Chron.7:14) and take a stand in spite of brash attempts of darkness to limit and/ or remove freedoms. If God could create the worlds out of nothing, surely we can see and take tremendous hope of His creating righteous order out of the chaos of self-focused, power-hungry people.

Melissa — Many have been controlled by fear instead of the true intention of God which is freedom from fear that comes through the fear of the Lord. God is waking us up to what He intends for us. He is waking us up to freedom like we’ve 
never experienced in our nation or world. This explains so much. How can we live in the abundant life John 10:10 talks about if we have a knee bowed in fear of everything at our doorstep? How can we see miracles when we are bowing our knee to the impossibilities mounted against us? How can we leave a winning legacy when we count ourselves among the doomed statistics of disease and age and depletion and debt? It’s really starting to make sense why we have only seen glimpses of effectualness. Many have been under the control of the enemy who planted subtle deposits of fear for years through platforms to which we’ve given our trust and they didn’t work. But now it’s our time. We get to be alive for this! We get to be alive for the awakening and to bring the Kingdom to earth in ways we’ve never seen before.
