Melissa G.) “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2) That’s a Change-Agent’s life right there. We PROVE the good, acceptable and perfect will of God. How? By changing our thought habits. We meditate on God’s will, His original intent for this earth. We stop fixating on the enemy’s war around us by realizing his war has intensified because he is feeling the pressure of this never-ending Kingdom in Luke 1. We turn our thoughts toward that powerful fact. We engage in power, love, and a sound mind by dumping fear-thoughts that have wreaked havoc (2 Timothy 1:7). This is all possible in our lifetime!
As the people of God assemble today may they be assured that the present facts they are dealing with in their lives, their family and the nation do not get to dictate the future. The present facts are not the end of the story. Jer.29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Melissa — How do you know if what you are hearing is God? Well, does it line up with His word? For instance, murder and adultery… not God! Also, He trains you to hear Him. “The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made even both of them.” (Proverbs 2:12) Sometimes we train ourselves to ignore the prophetic lifestyle because we don’t want to be weird. This really is an epic life we are meant to live — not fairytale or fantasy, but epic. Why epic? Unlike fairytale or fantasy that denote magic, rainbows and butterflies, and other-worldly superhumans, “epic” denotes work, grit, fight, humans living their destiny and winning. So, don’t ignore His training. Don’t ignore that relationship.
God will take us through stages to develop in us a hearing ear and an obedient tongue. God is so faithful to His plan that He will not omit any of the stages of development. Sometimes each stage takes a different amount of time in one person as compared to another but He is faithful to take each of us through each stage until He has formed useful vessels. (Jer.18:2-4)
Kathy — Psalm 139:16 (Paraphrased): “When I had not yet existed for even one moment, I was commissioned by God’s purpose. Before I was even wrapped as an embryo in my mother’s womb I was marked and approved by God’s eternal wisdom and greatness.” As surely as we were in the womb being transformed to come forth as a living being, reflecting the likeness of our natural fathers, we are in “cocoons” in life being transformed to reflect the likeness and character of our heavenly Father. What I mean by “cocoons” in life is the tough, tight places in life, times when we are caught in a web of circumstances or conditions that have us troubled, barely able to breathe and can’t see a way out. In “cocoon times”, we can either walk in faith and keep doing what we know to do and realize God is going to utilize it for our growth and development, or we can try to run and escape . . . maybe for an entire lifetime. Or we can take a machete to the thing, pitch a fit and tear up jack! (Of course that very rarely fixes real-life situations and usually makes them worse!) The bottom line is we only do damage when we refuse to change as needed.
Melissa — Ah, life! One minute everything is cruising right along, we’re on top of the world creating Facebook pages, writing books and making T-shirts to declare our life message to the world. The next thing you know… straight down at 100mph. Stinking roller coasters! They click right along at a nice pace and there is usually a great view to behold, then all of a sudden your stomach is in your throat. There was never a promise that life would be smooth sailing and easy. “Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.” James 1:2-4 (MSG) The ebbs and flows of a God-centered life are required for God’s original intent to take form.
Kathy — Self-government keeps us from agreeing with powers of darkness that use emotions. Self-government keeps us from spiritual wickedness in high places that influences thoughts. The beginning basics are (1) we have to know right to recognize wrong and (2) we have to choose right to defeat wrong. Consistently choosing right is the pulse of self-government.
As the people of God assemble today they must beware of reaching a point where they are merely dwelling on just the present facts. “Such and such” circumstances/factors may be the present facts but they are not the conclusion of the matter. In the Bible, present facts and final conclusions always looked very different from one another. Phil.1:6 — “I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].”
What are you willing to pay for immediate relief? Israel desired to return to slavery after being freed at their own request (Ex.3:7,9). The main concern was immediate relief. Esau was hungry, so he traded his birthright for immediate relief. We may find it necessary to deal with a rumbling stomach or uncomfortable surroundings for a period of time to get to promise. Ex.3:7-9, Amp – “The Lord said, “I have in fact seen the affliction (suffering, desolation) of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters (oppressors); for I know their pain and suffering. 8 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand (power) of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a land [that is] good and spacious, to a land flowing with milk and honey [a land of plenty]—to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite. 9 Now, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me; and I have also seen how the Egyptians oppress them.”
Kathy — Since God in His wisdom is never just developing a ministry, He is more importantly processing the character of His children. TIMING is both about answering prayer building relationship character in the Pray-er. TIMING is about God intricately working and making progress in people circumstances to manifest His answer. Therefore we dare not become weary in well doing fail to ask, seek knock.Gal.6:9, TPT — “And don’t allow yourselves to be weary or disheartened in planting good seeds, for the season of reaping the wonderful harvest you’ve planted is coming!”
Kathy — While intercessors should not sweat the small things, neither should we ignore them. The Word tells us to consider the impact of small things like the small rudder that directs a huge ship. Again in Zech. 4:10, we are admonished not to despise small beginnings because their impact will be big in future. Many times intercessory dreams and visions and impressions seem faint or small, yet they actually carry insights that prove crucial or huge down the road. Many people would not have any difficulty in believing the Lord might speak to them in a prayer meeting, in the auditorium, down around the front with soaking music playing at just the right volume. Most of us likely picture Father speaking to us in a quiet voice or a brief, breathy whisper. While those are wonderful experiences, we can also “hear” Father through an urge or a thought or even an impression, a hunch, a sense about a matter, about dreams or visions, or prophecies. We can even “hear” through timely statements by a brother or sister in Christ during the course of a seemingly normal conversation. You were made to hear God. You can hear God, receive direction from God and receive confirmations and warnings from God. Matt.11:15, NKJV — “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

It is not enough to simply confront the “giants” of this season of history. They must be contradicted. Jesus contradicted the powers of darkness. In Matt.17 a man has an epileptic son who falls into fire and water. He takes the son to Jesus’ disciples but they only confront the demon. The man appeals to Jesus. He not only confronted the demon but He contradicted it. The boy was completely whole from that moment. Jn.14:12, Amp — “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, anyone who believes in Me [as Savior] will also do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these [in extent and outreach], because I am going to the Father.”
There are mountains for the people of God to rule in. There are seven mountains or mind-molders of culture: 1) religion 2) family 3) education 4) government 5) media 6) arts 7) finance. Every believer is to have some degree of influence at some level in one (or more) of those mountains. According to the mandate of God upon his people as far back as the Book of Genesis, we are to rule in those mountains. (Gen.1:26) There are “giants” in those valleys between the 7 mountains. They oppose the advancement of the Kingdom of God. As long as there is a Kingdom of Light and a kingdom of darkness, there will be opposition. The kingdom of darkness must be confronted and contradicted in each of its expressions. Jesus called us “light” (Mt.5:14). The Holy Spirit-energized church is the only entity on this earth to keep darkness in check.
Kathy — God said to Cain: “If you do well, will you not be accepted?” In other words, “Cain, you realize you can change, right?” Then He said, “Cain, sin is crouching at your door; its desire is for you, but you must master it.” (Gen.4:6-7) Let me put that another way: “Cain, a life habit of missing the mark and being offended is crouching outside your door. It’s waiting to control you, but you can and you must master it.” God told Cain there was a foe at his door (Gen.4:7). That indicates a personal issue that is too close to leave unconfronted. Cain was being called to think differently but he did not overcome the life habit of offence and anger. His rage resulted in his brother’s murder. If we do not overcome our destructive hang-ups (e.g., habits, emotions, attitudes, judgments, fears, etc.), what we do not master will master us.
May the Lord give you the sensitivity you need for the present season you are in. May you be sensitive to where you need to be and when you need to be there and what you need to do when you get there. Ps.32:8, NLT — “The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.”
Those trying/challenging circumstances that made a pronounced entrance into the history books in the early part of the 20th Century drove some to excel. They also enabled some who had certain knowledge, skill-sets, personality wiring, and creativity to get traction in spite of the slippery pavement of uncertainty. For those who will stand on tiptoe and stretch their neck to look beyond fears, immediate obstacles and predictions based on limited knowledge, there will always be solutions and vision waiting that can be applied to present challenges.
An essential principle of God is that “two are better than one” (Ecc.l4:9). In the remainder of 2020 people of God will partner for effect. One shall set a 1000 to flight but two shall set 10,000 to flight. “If two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it shall be done for them…”(Matt.18:19). God is going to use small groups to defeat mighty opposition. We will commit to defeat together what we cannot overcome alone. It’s God’s Word.
