Confronting and Declaring
I’ve told you about Hermana Cruz who had a robber put a gun to her head in front of her daughter’s house. A few weeks later, this same lady was in the teller’s line at the bank and noticed hooded men at the head of the line trying to commit robbery. She stepped out of line and went to face off with the robbers and declared to them they wouldn’t get out of that bank with more than a dollar! While she confronted them, it seemed they were blinded and didn’t even see the teller contacting the police. The robbers ended up grabbing the cash on the counter and running out of the bank with about $0.80! The next day the headlines read: “Old Lady Stops Bank Robbery!” (Seventh excerpt from Kathy Gabler’s SEEC Magazine article “Sons Must Get It”.)

Marty’s Book “Prophecy-Strengthen Encourage Comfort”
PROPHECY — STRENGTHEN ENCOURAGE COMFORT – by Marty Gabler

This book is presented as the result of much research and observation over many years of relating to those in the prophetic movement. It is this writer’s hope that persons who read this study will be inspired to see more prophetic possibilities and make themselves more available than ever before to be used more fully by the Holy Spirit in expressing the “testimony of Jesus”, the resurrected Jesus, in a dark and hopeless world. The objective of doubtlessly evidencing a risen Jesus would, I think, include each and every believer. A good place to start would be to begin a journey of understanding what makes the “prophetic” the prophetic.

Anticipation is Inevitable
Anticipation is inevitable. The coming generation will anticipate something whether positive or negative. But what will they anticipate? One of the
biggest favors we can do the coming generation is to build anticipation into them: anticipation for the intervention of God in their lives and in our nation. We must see beyond and we must help them to see beyond that which has been the norm. Let’s help them to anticipate something no previous generation has seen, to be what no generation has been. Mic.7:7- “But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.” We are praying you discover daily that you are looking beyond the ordinary and you are helping the coming generation to anticipate new possibilities. Father Showing Up
Now, considering the Father bringing his possessed son to Jesus, let’s factor in something: anticipating Kingdom Power and participating in Father’s
business is not always going to be a marathon like Mark Chapter 9, nor will it always be a testimony of biblical proportion. It may center around what seems ordinary or unspiritual because Father’s business includes showing up in the everyday life of His sons. Here’s a real-life example of that: A friend, Hermana Cruz, from Venezuela was walking on the street to her daughter’s door. A man on a motorcycle rushed up and put a gun in her chest to rob her. In reaction, she formed a gun with her hand and touched his temple and said, “Who’s going to shoot first?” (That’s anticipating the POWER and government of God to prevail in the moment.) He fell over the bike while scrambling to escape, and he ran away yelling, “You’re crazy! You’re crazy!” (Sixth excerpt from Kathy Gabler’s SEEC Magazine article “Sons Must Get It”.)

The Life of Christ on Display
Benjamin Franklin said, “A good example is the best sermon”. Growing up, I heard a lady tell her children on several occasions, “Do as I say, not as I
do.” She required her children to be good people but gave herself extra latitude of conduct. But how many know that her saying one thing and doing another was about as effective as a screen door in a submarine? Jesus speaking to the Father: (Jn.17:6, Msg) “I spelled out your character in detail to the men and women you gave me. (v.9) I pray for them. (v.10) And my life is on display in them. They’ll continue in the world.” We are praying you discover daily that you are finding the list of people growing who watch you and speak well of you. September is for Tuning In
The month of SEPTEMBER IS FOR TUNING IN. We will be tuning in to Holy Spirit’s frequency to pray more efficiently and to discern and to release words of knowledge and words of wisdom and counsel. We will be able to tune in because storms of life are passing that have, heretofore, interrupted communication from Father’s heart to ours. We will discover that Father is always attempting to redemptively communicate with us and that we are most welcome to tune in to His frequency of peace and wisdom. (Prov.4:20, Msg) ”…listen well to my words; tune your ears to my voice.”

Suffering Relieved
As the people of God assemble today, may they be mindful of those who have suffered during the storm and flood. May they pray for those who are hurting and those who have lost so much. And may they be thankful for the mercies of the Lord that are new every morning, for great is His faithfulness. ”For He has not despised nor detested the suffering of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from him; But when he cried to Him for help, He listened.” (Ps.22:24, Amp)

Practical is not Always Adequate
In the middle of the storm, right on top of the troubled water Jesus said, “It is I”. The sufficiency of the boat was doubtful, the only practical thing that
was available was less than adequate. It is Jesus who has given the promise and it is Jesus who will make good on it and it is Jesus that the storm cannot drive away! The storm cannot displace Jesus. Just look at Who has given the promise. Jesus had far better transportation than a leaky old boat. The safest place on this occasion was not in the boat but on the water! Faith is for the purpose of getting out of the boat, not for asking Jesus to get into the boat (Matt. 14:28). Wishing a storm would have never come, asking why storms come, trying to lay blame for the storm are all distractions. Now is the time to look up from the threatening waters and walk with Jesus day by day “to the other side” (Matt.14:22). The safest place is with the Master of the storm.

Fear and Point of Reference
Concerning Hurricane Harvey we, on the Texas Gulf Coast, have just come through a series of unprecedented events and are now facing challenges that are unprecedented. In Matthew, the disciples were terrified because they had no point of reference for what was happening. When the disciples saw Jesus
walking on the lake, that terrified them as much or more than the storm. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear (Mt 14:26). They did not see the circumstances allowing anyone, including Jesus, to walk on water. They considered these circumstances as those that take you down and never let you up. These men of God had heard the heart-wrenching stories of fishermen suffering disaster at sea. Each of them could vividly tell a story of a relative or a friend who had not been able to attain the goal of “the other side” (Matt.14:22) Nerve-testing reports of failure to “reach the other side” had settled upon their ears and they had used them as foundation stones to build a point of reference which, at this point, filled their hearts with terror.
Victory was not on their minds. There was absolutely no thought of, nor any faith for, victory over this situation. Perseverance was no more than an idealistic point made by preachers on land, in the safety of storm-free weather. They hunkered down and just got ready for anything this set of circumstances wanted to throw at them. That is not how we make it. That is not how we persevere. That is not how we receive the promise. The prophetic gift always, annoyingly refuses to let us simply “grab a root and grunt.” Prophet Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” (Matt.14:27) Our focus is on Him Who is not bound by circumstances.

Message in the Aftermath of Harvey
There are so many kind and thoughtful acts going on in the midst of the anguish and aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. In scene after scene, day after day on news broadcasts the redemptive character of God Almighty can be seen flowing out of willing, even sacrificial people who give themselves, their
energy and their resources without expecting anything in return. When the reporter asked a policeman from another city what made him come to Houston and put himself on the line for another city the policemen replied, “It’s my God-calling”. In the face of darkness, despair and relentless criticism that our nation has been gorging on in recent months, people are stepping up and demonstrating that there is a higher calling from a Higher Power. Many wanted a miraculous sweep of an almighty, unseen hand to sweep over Texas and solve every bit of suffering and waste. But, the answers, the miracles have come in the form of many, many seen hands that have been impassioned and enabled by that same miraculous God as they go about His Kingdom business in His authority and love. So many across the U.S. have bitterly spewed that they can’t see God or that God is hiding Himself, if, in fact, He does actually exist. Just continue watching the news from Texas and if you don’t see God, the only reason can be that you’ve got your heart closed.

Unusual Repercussions
A father, in Mark 9, brought his possessed son to Jesus. After the spirit was kicked out, the boy was pale as a corpse, so people started saying, “He’s dead.” Here’s another equipping insight in this scenario: sometimes participation in a Kingdom Power exploit may set off unusual repercussions or seemingly unending ripples around you! After all the clashes and outbursts and kicking and screaming already, the aftermath continued. Most of the people there were fearful and mouthing as if Jesus had just failed and ended up with a dead child. However, like Jesus, the important thing is to stay on task. He took the boy by the hand and raised him and he got up. The anticipation was fulfilled and the participation was complete and Father’s business was finished. (Fifth excerpt from Kathy Gabler’s SEEC Magazine article “Sons Must Get It”.)

An Extraordinary Savior
The disciples were not expecting anything out of the ordinary from Jesus when He entreated them to row to the other side of the lake (while dealing
with the throes of a violent storm). Ps. 50:21 “These things you have done, and I kept silence; you thought that I was just like you; I will reprove you, and state {the case} in order before your eyes.” (NAS) They may have been thinking that He was like them, being subject to the same limitations they were subject to. They were expecting ordinary things from an extraordinary Savior. If only they could have grasped the concept that He is THE MASTER OF THE STORM. After Jesus had calmed the storm in Mk 4:41, they asked one another, “What manner of man is this?” (KJV). In other translations it reads “Who is this?” Not fully knowing who He was, and was therefore capable of, little did they know that He would be coming to join them walking on the water. “The Master of the Storm” is the answer to the question, “What manner of man is this?” When the Master is called on and relied on it is possible to get results that are out of the ordinary, for He has power over the power that threatens, even over the storm.

No Gouging in the Storm
We are praying and declaring that people in the storm who have to pay for products or services will not be gouged or cheated in any way. We pray that con men who try to take advantage of people will be shown for what they really are before people are duped. We pray that people will not be sold any product or repair that they don’t truly need. We also pray that people will discover that damage is not as extensive as originally thought and that products and services end up costing less than estimated. “The Lord wants all scales and balances to be right; he wants all business agreements to be fair.” (Prov.16:11, ERV)

Refuge From Stormy Weather
As the people of God assemble today may there be people who discover that the people of God care about them and the circumstances they feel they are about to drown in. May there be assurances that each is staying in the boat and standing with the other to get to the other side of the lake in spite of the storm. (Ps.55:8, Msg) “I want a walk in the country, I want a cabin in the woods. I’m desperate for a change from rage and stormy weather.”

See From God’s Perspective
There is a lively element to prophecy that cannot leave us like we are. That God-thing on the inside of us begins to get into agreement with His Word and makes room for His Word to come alive in us and work in us what otherwise was impossible before. The reason I like to use the eagle as a symbol of the prophetic is because of what the eagle represents to us: the ability to rise above; the ability to soar high and see from God’s perspective. The prophetic word enables us to rise up and see what we were not able to see from our circumstances. (From Marty’s book “Prophecy-Strengthen, Encourage, Comfort”. It has been revised and will be re-released at DVP2017.)

Nasty Opposition Can Ruin Participation
A father, in Mark 9, explained to Jesus that his son was possessed with a spirit which made him mute and seized him and slammed him to the ground while causing him to foam at the mouth and grind his teeth and stiffen out. So Jesus proceeded to rebuke the unclean spirit saying to it, “You deaf and mute spirit, I command you, come out of him and do not enter him again.” That power blast targeted the past, present and future of that family and that spirit. In verse 26, after crying out and throwing the boy into terrible convulsions, it came out. This kind of nasty, tenacious opposition is probably not going to be detailed in your up-front-briefing that you get for a mission like this, because you can see how it might dampen your anticipation if not make you faint at the thought of participation! (Fourth excerpt from Kathy Gabler’s SEEC Magazine article “Sons Must Get It”.)

Discovering You Are The Good
I found good in a hospital Intensive Care Unit. Last week I visited a friend in ICU who had kidney failure and was on a ventilator. When I walked in, a lady we know was wiping her face with a cool cloth. That lady prayed softly for her and told her she was going to be OK. This week the doctor removed the tube and our friend is sitting up and eating and gaining strength. The lady who took the time and concern and went to the ICU did a lot of good. (Heb.10:24, Amp) ”…let us consider [thoughtfully] how we may encourage one another to love and to do good deeds,” We are praying you discover daily that you are the good that people are discovering in their daily life. (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24hrs/day.)

Help My Doubts
Jesus said, “If you are able to believe, all things are possible to the ones believing.” (Mk.9:23) No sooner were tThe words out of His mouth than the father cried, “Then I believe. Help me with my doubts!” That may sound weak in terms of faith, but that was the beginning of repentance as the man’s thinking was changing. Repentance brings Kingdom power and provision into reach. “Repent, for the Kingdom is at hand.” (Matt. 4:17). So, when the power and provision of the Kingdom of God seems beyond our reach, it is time to rethink something. (Third excerpt from Kathy Gabler’s SEEC Magazine article “Sons Must Get It”.)

A Vital Necessity
We will determinedly go after the things that we believe are absolute necessity. There is One necessity, however, we must absolutely go after at all costs. (Jer.29:11-13, Amp) “For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you. Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a VITAL NECESSITY] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” We are praying you discover daily that you are seeking God and requiring Him as a vital necessity. (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24hrs/day.)

For The Future
Jesus said, “If you are able to believe, all things are possible to the ones believing.” (Mk.9:23) He was telling him, “Sir, the ‘IF’ is in your court
both now and in the future.” The way Jesus handled this situation shows us the Power of the Kingdom was being released for more than that boy. The deliverance was for the whole family.
An equipping insight here is that anticipating and participating in a Kingdom power moment may be more involved than we perceived in the very beginning. It may include prepping people to receive as well as equipping them to hold steady for the future. Some of the healing evangelists in the last sixty years would require people to be in three meetings before they got in the prayer line. I have to wonder if they too were trying to affect the thinking of people so they could align with God to keep their healing in the future. (Third excerpt from Kathy Gabler’s SEEC Magazine article “Sons Must Get It”.)

Who is Like Thee?
As the people of God assemble today, may their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be the focus of every heart and mind. May His praises be made glorious and may the Spirit of Christ flood each and every one with His enabling power to the glory of the Name that is above every name, JESUS. ”Who is like unto Thee, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like Thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?” (Ex.15:11, KJ21)

Father Will Finish What He Started in You
There are many experiences which we have in life that have altered our behavior. Sometimes we have learned from them but in some cases we have allowed certain experiences to dictate changes to us which have, in turn, affected progress to our destiny. Some of those effects will not be
immediate but they hold long-term results for us. Some of us have had experiences where we have trusted God in certain matters and, when expected results did not take place, we stopped believing God in those areas. There have been instances when we trusted in fellow Christians and in ministers who let us down and we adjusted our behavior for future reference and self-preservation. There are people who were once convinced that they had a true prophecy from God or that they had received a burden or a vision from God that was their life’s call and nothing ever materialized on the matter. When that happens we determinedly embrace a “paradigm shift” and woe be to anyone who tries to talk us out of it. Once we were convinced that God’s intentions toward us were large but because we experienced a repeated hindrance, we can end up believing we never did hear from God. Then we wind up believing in our disappointing experience more than we believe the Word of the Lord. But, let us lift up our heads and trust to Father God who desires our fulfilled destiny more than we do, for ”I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].” (Phil.1:6, Amp)
