To Show Lovingkindness

MinisteringThis is the day the Lord has made so…  I will rejoice and be glad because, in this day, the Spirit of the Lord and His compassion are enabling me to show loving-kindness and mercy while I am plowing up ground to make way for the development and effect of good that will make a difference in someone’s life.  “Do they not err who devise evil and wander from the way of life? But loving-kindness and mercy, loyalty and faithfulness, shall be to those who devise good.” (Prov.14:22, Amp)

Message in the Aftermath of Harvey

There are so many kind and thoughtful acts going on in the midst of the anguish and aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. In scene after scene, day after day on news broadcasts the redemptive character of God Almighty can be seen flowing out of willing, even sacrificial people who give themselves, their energy and their resources without expecting anything in return. When the reporter asked a policeman from another city what made him come to Houston and put himself on the line for another city the policemen replied, “It’s my God-calling”. In the face of darkness, despair and relentless criticism that our nation has been gorging on in recent months, people are stepping up and demonstrating that there is a higher calling from a Higher Power. Many wanted a miraculous sweep of an almighty, unseen hand to sweep over Texas and solve every bit of suffering and waste. But, the answers, the miracles have come in the form of many, many seen hands that have been impassioned and enabled by that same miraculous God as they go about His Kingdom business in His authority and love. So many across the U.S. have bitterly spewed that they can’t see God or that God is hiding Himself, if, in fact, He does actually exist. Just continue watching the news from Texas and if you don’t see God, the only reason can be that you’ve got your heart closed.

Celebrating Liberty in Christ

As the people of God assemble today may their thoughts, their hearts and their actions be about freedom and liberty in Christ.  May they rejoice in the freedom He has given them and may they impart that freedom to others through their love, compassion, words and actions.  “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has chosen me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed” (Lk.4:18, GNT)

Plan A: Abundant Life

(Melissa G.) Remember: We are heirs of Plan A! God’s original intent for our lifetime and beyond! We choose to live Plan B simply because we don’t Cross roads with plan A plan B road signshave a grasp on His love and true intent for us.  However, just because it’s not God’s original intent does not mean He is not right in the midst of it.  “It is because of the Lord’s lovingkindness we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness.” Lam. 3:22-23 (AMP).  Hear me out, this verse describes where our medicines fit.  It is not God’s original intent for us to live with disease and on medication.  Jesus finished the work so we could live an abundant life quickened by the Spirit that raised Christ from the dead (Romans 8:11).  However, because He loves us so much, plan B has God’s mercy all over it, “we are not consumed – His [tender] compassions never fail – NEW EVERY MORNING – Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness.” AND because of that mercy there is ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS opportunity to live Plan A.

Leadership and Love for Family

FatherFamilyEverywhere people gather, eventually discussion will get around to talking about family and the difficulties of relationships. I remember hearing about a man who attended a seminar and upon arriving told someone that he had come there to learn how to manage his family. One of the older leaders responded saying, “Don’t try to manage your family; learn to love and serve them, then leadership in the family will come as a by-product of the loving and serving.” It has been said that the biggest favor fathers can do their children is to love their mother.
(Eph.5:25, NKJV) “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.” We are praying you discover daily that you and your family are walking in our Lord’s sacrificial love.

Meeting The Groan

HandsReachingUpAs the people of God assemble today, may they receive the invigorating, equipping Word of God that will compel them to meet the groan of creation. That groan that is for those revealed as the authorized and empowered sons who release the compassion and power of the risen Christ to assuage the groan of that which is out from under the order of the King of Kings.
“[ Present distress is temporary and negligible ] In my opinion whatever we may have to go through now is less than nothing compared with the magnificent future God has planned for us. The whole creation is on tiptoe to see the wonderful sight of the sons of God coming into their own. The world of creation cannot as yet see reality, not because it chooses to be blind, but because in God’s purpose it has been so limited—yet it has been given hope. And the hope is that in the end the whole of created life will be rescued from the tyranny of change and decay, and have its share in that magnificent liberty which can only belong to the children of God! (Rom.8:18-21, JB Phillips)
