Melissa—The more we wake up the more we live as a son. I had a recent revelation about prayer. You know how sometimes you pray and pray and pray for something to change or manifest in your life and it seems like the prayer falls on deaf ears? The Lord showed me a picture of me just standing in one spot praying my repetitive prayer and nothing happening. Then He showed me a picture of me doing the same thing but instead of standing still I was moving forward, putting one foot in front of the other, continually moving ahead and reaching the answer. Then He broke it down for me. The first picture of standing still was a victim posture, staying in the same posture, waiting on a “magical moment” to change my circumstances. The second picture of moving forward was the posture of a son walking onward knowing there is good in God’s intention for my life which is ahead of me. So, let me say it this way, a victim waits for magic but a son walks in inheritance. I am waking up. Thank God. Awakening is upon us. Get ready. Being awake is a whole new state of existence. “For this reason He says, ‘Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine [as dawn] upon you and give you light’.” (Ephesians 5:14 AMP) [Final segment of “Waking Up”]
Melissa—This time of year, especially when considering, “How are things progressing and what will the progression be like in months to come?”, the norm is to start looking ahead. There’s an anticipation of what is coming and what could be. And on the spiritual side of things there is a buzz with indications of new and unconventional opportunities within our reach. We have plenty to be excited and anticipatory about but, due to the nature of what is ahead in the next half, I believe we need to press in to Holy Spirit’s leading and stay focused on present tasks to finish it well.
Nothing of the purposes of God has been recalled or changed no matter what current events threaten or what predictions are being made. We are still supporting missions, buying equipment and investing in lives and planning for the future. If there are new problems to deal with now, that must mean that there are new solutions. It is not time to stop. “Speak to Israel that they go forward” (Ex 14:15).
There are many experiences which we have in life that have altered our behavior. Sometimes we have learned from them but in some cases we have allowed certain experiences to dictate changes to us which have, in turn, affected progress to our destiny. Some of those effects will not be immediate but they hold long-term results for us. Some of us have had experiences where we have trusted God in certain matters and, when expected results did not take place, we stopped believing God in those areas. There have been instances when we trusted in fellow Christians and in ministers who let us down and we adjusted our behavior for future reference and self-preservation. There are people who were once convinced that they had a true prophecy from God or that they had received a burden or a vision from God that was their life’s call and nothing ever materialized on the matter. When that happens we determinedly embrace a “paradigm shift” and woe be to anyone who tries to talk us out of it. Once we were convinced that God’s intentions toward us were large but because we experienced a repeated hindrance, we can end up believing we never did hear from God. Then we wind up believing in our disappointing experience more than we believe the Word of the Lord. But, let us lift up our heads and trust to Father God who desires our fulfilled destiny more than we do, for ”I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].” (Phil.1:6, Amp)
May you reach the next horizon with strength to spare and may you rocket into the heart of the God-ordained participation that awaits you beyond that horizon. May you realize the knowing and joy and fulfillment of participating with our Lord and His purposed-people over that horizon. ”Jesus said, “You’re tied down to the mundane; I’m in touch with what is beyond your horizons. You live in terms of what you see and touch. I’m living on other terms.” (Jn.8:23, Msg) Today, even now, we can lift our eyes beyond the limitations and doubts of our environment and our immediate circumstances. Today, we can hear the voice of Him Who calls us to open up our considerations for His possibilities. We are praying you discover daily Almighty God’s horizons and His desire to get you there. May that which stagnates stagnate no longer. May the Lord put doors in obstacles for
you to go through or else, remove them. May you move forward with markable progress.
“The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes
my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk]
AND MAKE [spiritual] PROGRESS upon my high places [of trouble, suffering,
or responsibility]!” (Hab.3:19, Amp)

“Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for
it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward. For
you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that
you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and
thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is
promised.” (Heb.10:35-36, Amp)
May the Lord keep you from circumstances, events and people that would hold you back from any form of progress that would cause you to be blessed and to be a proper representative of His purposes. May the hand that reaches out to clutch you, detain you and taint you with undesirable identity, lose its grip. And may the Lord delightfully set you up for profitable progress.
“From one disaster after another he delivers you; no matter what the calamity, the evil can’t touch you—”Job 5:19 (Msg)
