Why the Gate is Narrow

The gate in Matt 7 is not narrow because God is mean and put the posts really close together so folks would have to squeeze through while holding their bellies in. The gate is narrow by virtue of the things that are about it. The gate of prosperity is wide open before us at the end of this year but shopping networks, impulse spending and high-interest-rate credit cards are standing between us and the gate of prosperity. The gate of good health and fitness is wide open for us to go through this year but easily obtained carbohydrates, sugar, flour, salt and fats are boldly, challengingly standing all around that gate. Getting to the gate is a challenge and getting through the gate is not easy because of what we must pass through to get over its threshold. There are gates of life and gates of death, gates of blessing and gates of curses. Which gates we go through, if we go through them at all, are accomplished by beginning with a choice. To go through the gate of prosperity we must now save and/or invest money while cutting back on using easy-to-get, high-interest-rate credit. To go through the gate of physical fitness we must practice self-government and resist delicious sugar-loaded and fat-loaded foods and command our soul to follow after a good exercise routine.  (Fifth excerpt from Marty’s article “Doors and Self-Government”)

August is For Seeing The Intervener

The month of AUGUST IS FOR SEEING THE INTERVENER. INTERVENE: “to come between disputing people, groups, etc.; intercede; mediate; to interfere with force or a threat of force.”  In August, we will cry out to the Lord God and (1) He will intervene for us with people we have not been able to get resolve with. (2) He will intervene and turn our health around. (3) He will intervene in our finances. (4) He will intervene in the unrighteous issues of our nation. (5) He will intervene for Israel.  (Isa.64:4, NET)  “Since ancient times no one has heard or perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who intervenes for those who wait for him.”  This is the month to see the Great Intervener, faithful God.

Deciding to Act Upon Blessing

“For wide is the gate and broad is the way” is terminology that informs us it is easy to get to destruction. Making no decision can get us to destruction as well as making the wrong decision. Not going through ordained doors can end us up in destruction as well as going through doors someone (or something, e.g., misguided sentiment or obligation) other than Father opened for us. If you simply plant a garden and leave it and never attend it by pulling weeds and watering it, it will soon come to fruitlessness, even destruction. That which is ignored or neglected will soon grow up and choke out its life. If we neglect or ignore matters of health and nutrition our bodies begin to break down and fall into destruction. We must make choices to be healthy. Destruction can easily come without it having to be worked at. There must be a choosing of, and corresponding acting upon, life and blessing. (Fourth excerpt from Marty’s article “Doors and Self-Government”)

Sing Honor and Praise!

As the people of God assemble today, may they sing out of honor, praise and worship to their God who is above all and above every name. May they proclaim to one another and into the atmosphere His greatness that is worthy of undivided worship, praising Him for Who He is, God Most High!  “Sing God a brand-new song! Earth and everyone in it, sing! Sing to God—worship God!” (Ps.96:1-2, Msg)

Paying Off Debt

Before the end of the year I am praying to see a lot of posts that start with: “Hey, you guys, we just paid off another debt!!! PTL!!!

Doors and Decisions

In the fullness of His wisdom and who He is, Father has placed opportunities and choices before us. But our Father does not leave us without guidance as to what kind of decisions that are best and fitting for us to make. Matt. 7:13  “Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it. 14  But the gate is narrow (contracted by pressure) and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it.”  Now we have, in both the Old Testament and in the New Testament, true foundation and guidelines for how we choose to go about making decisions. Whether or not we go through the many divinely-ordained opened doors God has put before us this year will depend upon how we make decisions this year. But you must know that there are many doors open before you. They are not just barely cracked open and they are certainly not locked but wide open for His Kingdom purposes, for His Name’s sake.  (Third excerpt from Marty’s article “Doors and Self-Government”)

Connected to a Higher Source

Jesus wanted His disciples connected to a higher source than the religion they had been stooped in. Jesus wanted followers whose lives showed His loving, redemptive character as a result of their relationship with Him. The legalism they had practiced could identify adherents but couldn’t produce fruit that witnessed to who the Father really is. The only thing their legalism communicated was that they were connected to a religion and its rules. Jn 15:8 “This is how my Father shows who He is–when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples.” (MSG) The fruitless things in their lives were pruned back by the word of Jesus so they might produce good fruit, good character (15:2).  We are praying you discover daily that the character of Jesus is demonstrated in your life.  (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24hrs/day.)

Choosing Life or Death

While there are open doors before us, there is, however, a process of decision-making that we must give ourselves to.  Jehovah’s instruction to prophet Jeremiah has embodied within it the matter of choosing. Jer. 21:8  “You shall also say to this people, ‘Thus says the LORD, “Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.”  Deut. 30:19 plainly shows us that our God puts His power of command to us in hopes that we will choose life instead of death and choose blessing instead of a curse. We are not simply those who observe and experience the coming and the passing of days and calendar events. We have choices to make as to how those days, events and people affect us; we must make choices as to how we will affect those days, events and people. We can be bearers of life or of death, bearers of blessing or curses.  (Second excerpt from Marty’s article “Doors and Self-Government”)

Make a Fresh Start

Occasionally in life, we tend to put ourselves in relationships and situations that effectively serve to block any progress which we have thought we should have made by this point in life. The impassible wall our decisions make seems to just reach up and block the wind that would fill our sails and move us to a much more desirable haven. Now, today, is the time to call on God and move with God.  (Ps.51:10)  “God, make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life… 12 Bring me back from gray exile, put a fresh wind in my sails!”  We are praying you discover daily that your sails are full of the wind of the Spirit of God and you are by-passing old stopping points. Doors and Self-Government

Many times the future is depicted by a picture of an open door. The way to the future, to fulfillment, to victories, to glorifying the Name of the Most High God is open before us now—wide open. There are open doors before us to take us where we have never been before. We will go through those doors and be successful because the Kingdom purposes of God for us in our generation will propel us there to glorify His Name. (First excerpt from Marty’s article “Doors and Self-Government”)

To Him That Believes

As the people of God assemble today, may they encourage one another to look beyond the limits of their own experiences and disappointments to see what none of their eyes have seen and what none of their ears have heard and what none of their minds have imagined (1Cor.2:9). May they see and hear and wrap their minds around all that is possible to him that believeth. (Mk.9:23) “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”
_________________________________________________________________________________

Eyes to See the Non-typical

1Cor.2:9 does say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined.”  I wonder if when we see that, we should say to ourselves, “Up until now.” It does NOT say that we will not see—it’s just that we haven’t before now. Don’t feel like you are out in left field, unknowing, ignorant or unspiritual. Paul says that NO eye, NO ear, NO mind has imagined—not even the big name Christian celebrities on Christian TV. Every single one of us must open up our hearts and minds and let the King of glory come in with His plans and possibilities so we can come into agreement with those things “God has prepared for those who love Him.” (No matter how foreign they are to our typical way of thinking.)

Anticipate the Inevitable, Supernatural

A bit more strategy.  In 2017 we will realize we have massive amounts of help from a God-created angelic company.  It’s time to be aware that God has created an angelic army doing His will on this earth right now.  It’s time we realized we are intended to network with them because they know our destiny and it is their job to help us get there.  Just like Elisha’s servant in 2 Kings 6, it is time for our eyes to be opened to this partnership God intended.  At the end of 2017 we will look back in amazement at what He has done and where we are. So, go ahead and ANTICIPATE the inevitable, supernatural intervention of God!  (Last excerpt from Melissa Gabler’s article “A Drawing Salve Kind of Season”)

Today is a Good Day

Today is a good day. May this be your good day in realizing and embracing the blessings and protection of Jehovah God. Circumstances for the people of God turned completely around, from evil trying to wipe out the Jewish people, to everyone wanting to become Jews and partake in their favor and blessings. Attempts to destroy the people of God, end up increasing them.  (Esther 8:17, Jubilee Bible) “…in each city wherever the king’s commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a banquet and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews, for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.” We are praying you discover daily that you are having a good day in spite of what has tried to take you out.  (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24hrs/day.)

A Bit of Strategy

Here is a bit of strategy.  At the beginning of the year the Lord told me to take this year week by week.  That has been an absolute life saver.  There have been several weeks that have ended on a rough note, but the Holy Spirit reminds me of the instruction and it brings hope because I don’t know what God has planned for next week.  Next week does not have to look like this week, and won’t.  Two days after hearing the “week by week“ strategy I heard the Lord say, “You are tiptoeing into something big”.  Tiptoeing? What an interesting word choice.  It simply means stealth/cautious.  So, we have to take this year week by week because we are tiptoeing into position! The Lord is carefully putting us into a place He created us to fill.  This is the year of placement and revealing.  (Fourth excerpt from Melissa Gabler’s article “A Drawing Salve Kind of Season”)

Transition and the Unveiling Process

As the people of God assemble today, may they realize that we are not through transitioning. In fact biblical principle, according to Phil 1:6, proclaims that as long as we are in this present age the transitioning to His Image will continue. “{For I am} confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” (NAS) If God is going to complete the work He has begun in us that means transition, it means process; it means a proceeding word from God that takes an unveiling process. May the people of God encourage one another that the fruit and the benefit are worth the process.

Battle of the Mind

If a war breaks out within your mind, because you are sick yourself, when someone asks you to pray for them, that is a (behind the scenes) battle over sonship.  Even if we don’t voice it, as children of God we know our Father doesn’t withhold any good thing like healing, right?  So, when I am not healed, my sonship easily comes under fire, until I repent (which means I catch what I’m thinking and change it).  We change our thinking by remembering the Truth.  In this case, the truth is that infirmity cannot de-son nor de-daughter anyone because sonship is a covenant, not a condition.  Sons anticipate, meaning they already have a realization of the power of Father’s faithfulness to His Word and His Covenant, so they pray out of that confidence, even if their tooth is aching while they pray for someone’s fever. We don’t have to forego anticipation and participation in God-exploits, even while we are under attack or winning sonship wars. (Last excerpt from Kathy’s article “Anticipating the Power of the Kingdom”)

Speak Encouraging Words

This is the day the Lord has made so…  I will rejoice and be glad that the Holy Spirit enables me to edify others in it! 1Thess.5:11 says “So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it.” It is possible to turn someone’s day completely around. It is even possible to turn someone’s life completely around with just a few encouraging words inspired by the Holy Spirit. Edify means “to restore by building, to rebuild, repair, establish, to promote growth in Christian wisdom, affection, grace, virtue, holiness, blessedness.”  We are praying you discover daily that you are edifying others so they may realize their value in helping others.  (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24hrs/day.)

Anticipation is Key

What Jesus was attempting to communicate after going down from the Mount of Transfiguration is: “The things I’ve done were not just for historical records, they’re your calling, the template for your mandate and your future.  I’m not here to provide you a fleeting encounter with a super-Hero!  I’m here to inaugurate the sonship of powerful, effectual sons! When . . . are . . . you . . . gonna . . . get it?” An Equipping insight at this point is that Practice and Training to Anticipate the Power of the Kingdom of God is a major KEY for taking care of Father’s business on earth in our lifetime.  (Seventh excerpt from Kathy’s article “Anticipating the Power of the Kingdom”)

Mouth Hanging Open

Peter then said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; let us make three tabernacles, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”  The next verse says that Peter blurted this out without thinking, simply because they were all so stunned by what they were seeing.  I don’t blame Peter for that outburst.  Those three disciples were experiencing Kingdom Power that broke barriers in logic, time and history.  And, by the way, HOW would the disciples  have recognized Moses & Elijah?  There were no history books with photos, no name-tags . . . Perhaps Jesus introduced them . . . and can you picture that? How would you be able to look eye-to-eye with Moses and smile or nod? Or how would you shake Elijah’s hand without your legs falling off? Maybe they weren’t introduced, but they knew them because they were intently eavesdropping, while frozen in a dead stare with their mouths hanging open!  (The third excerpt from Kathy’s article “Anticipating the Power of the Kingdom”)

Anticipating the Power of the Kingdom

Considering anticipating the power of the Kingdom, I set out to find some equipping insights or basics to walk out that anticipation in real life.  I started by finding a definition of anticipation is “an impression in advance,” so it is an impression of Kingdom Power in advance of experiencing it. Anticipation is a realization before it happens, so it is a realization of Kingdom Power before it happens. Anticipation is a foretaste, so it is tasting Kingdom Power before it’s time to eat! For three-plus years, Jesus demonstrated the Power of the Kingdom and that produced ANTICIPATION, an impression, a realization and a foretaste.  He did this through healing and deliverance and powerful gifts of the Spirit and through taking dominion over weather, fish, fig trees, death and demons.  (The first excerpt from Kathy’s article “Anticipating the Power of the Kingdom”)

Stay the Course

The divine plan has been devised, the divine plan has been implemented and those who determine to stay the course will enjoy the benefits of the divine conclusion. In the face of unyielding, defying and threatening circumstances a trusting Bible-reading son/daughter of God must stand on their Father’s report and proclaim, “I anticipate the inevitable, supernatural intervention of God”.  (The last excerpt from Marty’s article “Anticipation Nation”)

Reach for What’s in Reach

We are being equipped so that the Kingdom of our God can advance in us and through us. It’s going to involve taking dominion and bringing God’s order into all the mountains of culture and into individual lives and into circumstances and into history.   Not every act of dominion is going to be as quick as stopping the wind and waves because changing the powers-that-be may take a while in some cases, but let’s do this.  Let’s be sons that reach for what’s in reach. Let’s be the sons that bring the order that creation is groaning for.  It starts with crying out, “Bid me Come, Lord.” (Kathy)
