The Hand of the Lord

As the people of God assemble today may they pray, praise and speak of the mighty hand of Yahweh that moves in behalf of His people. May they glorify Yahweh for moving His hand to redeem and save and supply, especially in the face of opposition and lack. May they witness His hand as it stays the tide of evil coursing through the riverine agendas of unrighteousness in our land. May the redeemed know and see beyond every barrier and illusionary fog that would cause despair and fear. Job 12:9-10,NASB—“Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this, 10 In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?

What’s the Antidote to Accusation?

Melissa—What’s the antidote to accusation? The opposite of accusation is intercession.  The enemy accuses (Revelation 12:10) and Jesus intercedes (Romans 8:34).  Instead of accusing, criticizing, gossiping and leaving it there, it needs to be turned into intercession. Now, in the south we like to put “bless their heart” at the end of a good ol’ accusation… THIS IS NOT INTERCESSION. Perhaps an example of intercession would look something like this, “Open their eyes Lord, Your grace is sufficient for this issue.”

That Stillness of Heart

Kathy—When Jesus said, “My peace I give unto you,” He was not telling His disciples they would never be troubled, but He was giving them His power to be unshaken by it.  That stillness of heart and mind is not a matter of our determination but rather a matter of His faithfulness.  It’s His gift to us and it is a powerful shield in the face of opposition.  Father has not changed His mind nor His good plans because of conflicts.  So, we are watching to see a God outcome where His goodness prevails.  Luk 2:14–“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

Opposition Fall Away

As the people of God assemble today may the heavy garments of burdens and opposition fall away like the fall leaves fall away from the trees. May the Lord’s people be refreshed in His presence and the fellowship of the saints and move forward into the new year rested with the strength that only Jehovah can give.  Matt.11:28-30,TPT—“Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. 29 Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. 30 For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.”

We Have Not Arrived

When God is keeping His people on His timetable it will require constant change on the part of those people. If we take an honest look at Eph. 4:13-16, we will admit that we have not arrived. Change in the Church across the board is what we have to look forward to. Sameness is not the answer. As we hunger for the Holy Spirit’s presence in carrying out our Heavenly Father’s mandate, there will be likely human personalities who will resist. As we continue to receive prophecies that propel us forward into our destiny, there will be opposing forces that will attempt to intimidate and discourage us from doing mighty exploits. The 10 spies will cry, “Giants!” The Athaliahs will yell, “Treason!” The Michals will tauntingly proclaim, “Vile!” And the Sanballats will accusingly shout, “Rebellion!” If we check our mandate and our motivation and find them to be scriptural as David did, then let’s allow it to become our courage.

Gaps in Character

Kathy — Is it lack of training that leaves gaps in our character? Is it lack of healthy examples that weakens our character? Or does character corrupt in the breach between knowing the truth and living according to the truth we know? I think the gap in an old crumbling wooden fencelatter is the heart of the matter. It moves the emphasis from lack and circumstance to diligence. We do not have to be perfect, but diligence is a requirement. The hand of the diligent will rule, Prov 12:24. (NKJ) In business or ministry or government or family or the local garden club, we do not suffer a downfall because of other people. Neither do circumstances cause us to fall. Opposition does not cause us to fall. We build our own path to downfall. Bad choices, emotional decisions, wrong priorities and self-focused agendas can cause us to fail, but a downfall comes from a breach of character.

Intense Exertion

In spite of the angle of descent of morals and values, in spite of what the world money market looks like, in spite of what the state of the union looks like, we stand on the brink of a destiny that our forefathers never imagined (Jer.33:3)—But it will require moving from being waiters and observers to acting. It will require shifting, modifications, transitions and intense exertion:  the “violent” action of Matt.11:12 which means “intense exertion.” It is not violent in the sense of doing persons harm but in the sense of putting forth effort (i.e., intense exertion) in opposition to things that oppose purpose. We must oppose darkness like opposing a rattlesnake trying to crawl up in our bed. We must do it for our King and for a generation.

The Lord Walks Through Barriers

As the people of God assemble today, may the Lord walk through walls of opposition, walls of impossibility, walls individuals have built between themselves and other members of the body of Christ. May He miraculously walk through every barrier into our midst today so that He might release in us and through us His peace, gifts and redemptive power. “That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be with you,” he said.” (Jn.20:19, NLT)

May Opposition Break

May the Lord grant that seasons of weariness and relentless opposition over your life break and dissipate like the morning mist.   “But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This [peace, righteousness, security, TRIUMPH OVER OPPOSITION] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord [those in whom the ideal Servant of the Lord is reproduced]; this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from Me [this is that which I impart to them as their justification], says the Lord.” (Isa.54:17, Amp)

Weapons Formed Against You

Don’t you just dread those times in life when it seems that every step you take is uphill? May the Lord grant that seasons of weariness and relentless opposition over your life break and dissipate like the morning mist.  (Isa.54:17, Amp)  “But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This [peace, righteousness, security, TRIUMPH OVER OPPOSITION] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord [those in whom the ideal Servant of the Lord is reproduced]; this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from Me [this is that which I impart to them as their justification], says the Lord.”  We are praying you discover daily that absolutely no weapon formed against you is prospering.  (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24hrs/day.)

Extreme Opposition

Opposition(Kathy G.) God has always intended to bring sons to glory, not cherubs. Father’s design is this: Father – Sons – Glory.  Satan audaciously tried to share God’s glory and he failed.  He has since been on a mission of revenge with full intent to thwart the glory by taking sons out of Father’s design equation.  This might answer questions you have about experiences where opposition continued to unexplainable extremes, perhaps to the point of people saying, “The devil must be scared of you!”  It is true.  The devil is afraid that you will BE a son of God who does what you were born to DO and thereby be one of the many sons Father brings to glory.

Glory of God in the Forefront

CloudSunBreakThruLet’s get down to some ground–level grit.  It is God that brings (leads, influences, carries, persuades) sons to glory.  The sons’ part is to overcome through the process of getting there.   Opposition is anything that contradicts the Word, will or character of God in our lives.  In John 14:30, Jesus pointed out one major source of opposition was  “the ruler of this world.”   Your adversary, the devil, will oppose you continually.  Though the glory of God may have never been in the forefront of your thinking before now, it has been number one priority with the devil all along. He is afraid you will do what you were born to do.

Are You Gummin’ It?

Toothless
Do you ever have a  day when you think, “If faith were teeth . . . right now I’d be gummin’ it”?  I don’t know about you, but I don’t wake up every day looking for new battles and greater challenges.   In fact, many mornings I wake up tired, tired of waiting on promises that still haven’t manifested; tired of praying for healing, but seeing only a little; tired of believing for miracles, but only feeling the heat get hotter; tired of looking for change, but seeing sameness; tired of watching people go two steps forward and three steps back; tired of asking for a refreshing rain, but ending up in a puddle of disappointment.  When the storms of life wear your faith down to the gums and contrary winds layer grit and grime on your windows, it can change the way you see things. But don’t give up. We are on the threshold of seeing more of the presence and plan of God manifest in our lives than ever before.

No Change Without Opposition

PushingOnWallHas anyone recently felt as though they are under attack? In the Kingdom of God there is no such thing as change without opposition. We are now in an unprecedented time of history when change is a frequent factor in the lives of those in the Kingdom of God. I have had people tell me that before they came to Christ their lives were not all that much of a struggle but since beginning to follow the Lord they have been in one spiritual battle after another. When we accept Jesus, we are inducted into the army of God. He puts a robe of righteousness on us and armor which become a conspicuous uniform identifying which army we belong to. When we receive a prophecy and begin to walk it out or when we begin to hunger for the things of God which we have never experienced, we become a nuisance to that which prefers to perpetuate the status quo. The enemy of the people of God knows that to let us go unhindered is to consent to defeat without a struggle. His most effective, time-proven weapons are intimidation and discouragement.

Rowing Against The Wind

When God gives a promise He gives a witness of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. “He… put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come” (2Co rowing in storm1:22). We allow pressures and delay to smother the witness, of the Holy Spirit, to promise. When we are on our way to the fulfillment of promise and the wind is not at our backs, the tendency is to turn around and go back so that we are not opposed by the wind. Rowing with the wind is much easier than rowing against the wind. But winds of opposition will come from the enemy because he does not want the promise of God to be fulfilled in us. If it is fulfilled in us it will not only revolutionize our lives but it will also bless those around us. It will advance the Kingdom of God. The wind will resist our shifting into a new season.

Confronted By Counterforces

oppositesI was confident that the winds (that I mentioned in Friday’s post) were being confronted by counterforces of God and the outcome would be a halt to the lethal influences invading lives and business and government, especially in the church  mountain of culture in that region.  “Be still and know that I Am God”  was the prevailing, activated directive as I watched the war in the air.  I saw dark powers vying for positions like communication companies contending for key antennae placement.  The powers of darkness were looking for effective perches for the most intense signal and dominating communication advantage to keep the atmosphere inundated with their whispers, but the sounds were muted.

What We Give Over

A farmer we know had a new Doberman puppy. One morning the puppy was in the barn with the horse. The farmer’s wife heard the horse stomping around and then heard a desperate yelp from the puppy! She ran into the barn and found the tiny puppy limp and lifeless. She could see no wound, but the small pet lay in the puddle of released bowels she knew to be a sign of sudden death. She rushed the unresponsive puppy to Dobe N Horsethe vet. The vet took one look at the dog and said, “The dog is dead. There is nothing I can do.”

When the farmer returned, his wife broke the news that his new puppy was on the back porch dead. The farmer knelt beside the stiff little body and studied the once shiny eyes now glazed in a dead stare. He called her name, “Princess.” He watched the motionless pup intently. Moments later, she moved her tail slightly. He called her name again, “Princess,” and began to stroke her. The tiny tail broke into a full swing, lifting her rear off the ground into a full wag! When he called her name, she suddenly agreed with her identity and purpose and future instead of what might have been. We will never know if the horse actually kicked her or just came close. Either way, the dog who thought she was dead overcame the trauma of the giant in the barn and lived to fulfill her purpose, becoming the best watch dog the farmer ever had.

Sometimes all our enemy has to do is show up. We give up because of OPPOSITION. Sometimes all he has to do is be taller. We give up because of INTIMIDATION. Sometimes all he has to do is cast a shadow over us. We give up because of DOUBTS. Sometimes all he has to do is be louder than hope. We give up because of IMPOSSIBILITIES. Sometimes all he has to do is out last us. We give up because of LACK of PERSEVERANCE. Sometimes all our enemy has to do is scare us with what might have been. If in shock we AGREE, he is successful. It is not what the enemy takes, it is what we give over! Some things were given over in past generations, but we can even take those things back through agreeing with our Redeemer!

Profitable To Family, Tribe And Nation

Profitable To Family, Tribe And Nation
The sons of Issachar understood the times in which they lived, understood what was being said by the rulers and cultures of the times. Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do… (1Ch 12:32). They were able to speak more than just their tribal, colloquial tongue. They both understood and spoke the understandings of culture, politics and science. They were then able to articulate those matters to their tribe (v.32) so that action could be taken upon their wisdom. Their knowledge made them profitable to their families, their tribe and their nation.

Two Are Better Than One

An essential principle of God is that “two are better than one” (Eccl.4:9). In 2012 people of God will partner for effect. One shall set a 1000 to flight but two shall set 10,000 to flight.”If two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it shall be done for them…”(Mt18:19).God is going to use small groups to defeat mighty opposition. We will commit to defeat together what we cannot overcome alone. It’s God’s Word. (seecministries.org)
