Timing is the Key

Kathy—I encourage you not to get frustrated if a dream has to wait and open over time. There may be elements in it that are in process and not yet reachable, but the dream can still be a landmark or confirmation later.  One dream I had over 25 years ago just opened to me recently.  In the dream, Marty and I turned off a major four-lane road onto a dirt road.  It lead to an old country house.  There was an elderly lady sitting in a rocker on the porch.  No words were spoken but we knew the old home place was ours and that she had been overseeing it and waiting for us to get there.  She was a watchman (angel) guarding our destiny and heritage.

When I got out of the car, there was a wooden fence a few feet from me and a huge bull was standing on the other side of it.  He came as close to me as he could get with only two boards separating him and me.  He lowered his head and glared at me.  My legs felt weak as water.  I sensed the bull and I were facing off and I could not cower to his silent bullying.  I took a deep breath, crossed my arms to stop the trembling, and I stared into his eyes and said, “I’m not afraid of you.”  I turned my back on him, let my breath out slowly and walked away.

There was a bag that was full of seed when we got up to the house.  The bag seemed to be moving as though the seeds were active and alive within it.  Marty was suddenly urgent to get the seed planted, and I felt compelled to help him.  There was a tangible sense of sowing for a specific harvest that would be fruitful and have powerful impact in the future.  As the sun set, we ended up in the house, sleeping in a small room, like a parlor off the living room (where the lady now sat).  Melissa was also there with us then. I remember thinking she must be part of the ministry call we were realizing in this destined time and place.

The whole dream was an allegory about our family and how our calling and purpose  and heritage is pre-destined by God and already in place.  However, the dream was a loud message for me personally to keep in mind the potential danger of my strong will (the bull).  While I am not to yield in fear of its strength, neither can I ignore it.  The bull didn’t just lie down or go away because of that face-off, but neither did it break out of bounds.  I’m sure the Lord intended my will to be an asset and would not want it weak or useless, but neither should it be allowed to do damage or dominate my life if I am to walk out the destiny God has planned.

I had never forgotten the dream and often wondered why it did not open in my understanding for so many years.  Now I see that timing was the key.  Had I squared off with my will at the time of the dream, I would have been determined to conquer it in my own strength. Ironically, that would have built more muscle in the “bull” and beefed-up the problem in the process.  Instead, the Holy Spirit has been saving and sanctifying my soul (and that strong) will for 25 years, and that was the wise way to keep it within necessary boundaries.  I am grateful for this understanding now and so very grateful for His faithful tending of my soul.

I pray 2022 becomes the year of clarity and courage to walk into God intersections and see His Kingdom come on earth as in heaven.

Timing and Connections

Melissa—The prophetic lifestyle opens opportunities, timing, and connections.  Opportunities: having the ears to hear to be at the right place at the right time for yourself and others. Timing: none of us understand the timing of God because He is working on so many levels.  It takes a prophetic lifestyle to see beyond the limited vision of our normal dimensions. It can keep you sane where timing is concerned. Connection: Brings lives together for God team-ups, projects, events, etc.  We were never meant to do life alone (1 Corinthians 12:20-21).

Continue to Knock

Kathy — Continue to ask, seek and knock. With every knock there is progress. If our agenda becomes more important than obeying God and learning His ways, we get out of sync with God, with spiritual Leadership and with the Body of Christ. When we get out of sync, we are likely to usurp spiritual authority and get out of God’s blessing thereby giving the enemy a foothold in the Body of Christ. Rest in God’s TIMING. 1Sam.15:22 — “Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obedience to the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed [is better] than the fat of rams.”

TIMING

Kathy — Since God in His wisdom is never just developing a ministry, He is more importantly processing the character of His children. TIMING is both about answering prayer building relationship character in the Pray-er. TIMING is about God intricately working and making progress in people circumstances to manifest His answer. Therefore we dare not become weary in well doing fail to ask, seek knock.Gal.6:9, TPT — “And don’t allow yourselves to be weary or disheartened in planting good seeds, for the season of reaping the wonderful harvest you’ve planted is coming!”

Headed to Due Season

Kathy — The Greek word translated “due” in Gal.6:9 means a “personal and ReapingHarvestseparate” season or a time of processing unique to each person or unique to each situation. And it says that if we do not get spiritless and give up and pull away during processing, we will reap the full accomplished purpose of the time of trial. So we can understand God’s timing to be as long as it takes to complete His plans in us and for us! Gal.6:9, TPT — “And don’t allow yourselves to be weary or disheartened in planting good seeds, for the season of reaping the wonderful harvest you’ve planted is coming!

Embracing God’s Timing

TimingLookWatch.jpgKathy — We need to embrace God’s timing by realizing it is not about counting hours, it is about trusting God. So, embracing His timing includes keeping our attitude right until His processing in us is complete. Isa.49:23—”They that hope in the Lord will not be disappointed.” It does not say “they that hope in their desired time frame.” Our hope is in the Lord of the process, the Lord of timing.

Possibility of Missing God’s Timing

Kathy — Remember those restless nights before an important day when you were clocksafraid you would not hear the alarm so you tossed and turned? I think we are sometimes driven to anxiousness by the possibility of missing God’s timing. But if we learn to think of His timing as a process rather than an hour, some of the anxiety subsides. Phil.4:6-7, Msg — “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”

As Silver Tried in a Furnace

HeatFurnaceKathy — There is no anxiousness in God’s timing. That makes it very different from my definition of timing. Aligning circumstances and creating opportunities is the easy part for Father. Preparing us to walk in those opportunities is the real work of His timing. Ps.12:6 “The words of the Lord are pure, as silver tried in a furnace, purified seven times.”

Take Hold of Plan A

This is the time to loose your grasp on plan B and take hold, with both hands, of Cross roads with plan A plan B road signsplan A — Father’s original intent for your life. If your answer is hidden, ask God what the right question is in this moment.  Ask Him what, in you, might be hindering the answer.  Ask Him what you need to know today.  He’s got plans for you, He is not into punishing you.  His M.O. is all about forgiveness, redemption, relationship, and promotion, all for His glory. Hey, if He tells you it’s simply about timing then it’s really that simple.  His timing is perfect.  Look at the birth and life of Samuel.  Perseverance is key!  It’s going to be an amazing time on into next year.  Get ready for your answers.  –Melissa Gabler

Times That God Moves Us

StandAtCrossroadsConsidering scriptural examples, I know I must be willing for God to move me if He sees such a necessity. Sometimes God moves us geographically or with reference to a career or status among our peers. Positioning and timing are high up on God’s list of imperatives (cf.Eph.1:9-10;Gal.4:4-5). There will, no doubt, be need for modifications in our point of reference and our understanding of God’s timing in order to bring the fulfillment of promise. God does not give gifts to be squandered but to bring the fruit forth from our lives that He desires to minister to others.

God, Seasons and Order

The faithful God who set the seasons in undeniable order remains on His throne so that His order and purposes will be accomplished in the earth. As certainly as there is a summer that turns into fall and a fall that turns into winter there is One who sits above the machinations of unregenerate, self-serving men. People of faith will, therefore, align themselves with His order and contradict the disorder of faithlessness—step by step and day by day.  “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” (Gen.8:22, Amp)

Within God’s Timing

timeclockcalendarMay the Lord cover us, rescue us and keep us from involving ourselves with those who are not intending to operate within the timing of Him who sets the times and works His plans accordingly.  May our Lord save us from those who do not desire HIS calendar and those who simply neglect concern over His times. My times are in His Hand and I will not put them in the hands of any other. We need HIM every hour. “My times are in your hand…” (Ps.31:15, NKJV)   “Desperate, I throw myself on you: you are my God! Hour by hour I place my days in your hand, safe from the hands out to get me.” (Ps.31:14-15, Msg)

Taking Plan “A” With Both Hands

HoldRopeHands(Melissa) This is the year to loose your grasp on plan B and take hold, with both hands, of plan A – His original intent for your life in 2016. If your answer is hidden, ask God what the right question is in this moment.  Ask Him what, in you, might be hindering the answer.  Ask Him what you need to know today.  He’s got plans for you, He is not into punishing you.  His M.O. is all about forgiveness, redemption, relationship, and promotion all for His glory. Hey, if He tells you it’s simply about timing then it’s really that simple.  His timing is perfect.  Look at the birth and life of Samuel.  Perseverance is key!  It’s going to be an amazing year.  Get ready for your answers.

A Timing Notice

I was telling a pastor friend about this “Let It Rain” prophetic song and her eyes lit up. That same Sunday morning, in the worship at her church, the watch faceworship leader also prophesied in song that she could see a cloud the size of a man’s hand. She told her pastor later that she saw a small cloud with a wind around it, as if it were energizing it. Even greater than what she saw was the sense of getting ready for a manifestation of the glory and blessing of God because a breakthrough was coming. Let’s note this is established in the mouth of two witnesses on the same day and neither released it as a weak-someday-somehow, but rather a now-notice. We have heard, like Elijah heard something in verse 41, and he told them to celebrate, “There is the sound of abundance of rain, there is the sound of the roar of a heavy shower, rain is on the way; I hear it coming,” but then he saw something. The tiny cloud was a timing notice because when it showed up he said, “Saddle up and get down from the mountain before the rain stops you.” The cloud meant all systems go—it was the beginning. It was time for change to begin! We too have heard it, now go look again! Melissa continued singing, “He makes all things new, let it settle over you. We are gonna go ahead and break through . . . because it’s the year of the cloud.”

The Lord Keep Us In His Timing

familyMay the Lord keep us in His timing by giving us health and prosperity so that we may be everything we need to be for our families for as long as we need to be it. May there be physical strength and mental acuity for fulfilling our responsibilities to loved ones and those the Lord has connected us to for His Kingdom purposes. May the Lord keep us from illness and disease that we may walk in His timing without faltering or coming up short of fulfillment.

“Moses was 120 years old when he died. His eyesight was sharp; he still walked with a spring in his step.” (Deut.34:7, Msg)
