Evil Not Hinder Kingdom

Jesus gave instructions on prayer that superceded the apocalyptists view which conceded the present age to evil. HIs instructions were to pray “deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom.” The emphasis Jesus gave His disciples says, “Thine IS the kingdom”-Matt.6:13. This phrase is not an afterthought, it is the central thought. The Kingdom does not and cannot ever belong to evil, nor can evil hinder the establishing of the Kingdom of God.

Fear-Driven Questions

Melissa — Last year was a year of getting the tools needed for the tool belt.  It was a year of starting to ask the wise, right questions instead of the fear-driven questions.  A fear-driven question already has an answer in mind and can’t hear anything but that.  A wise question is open to hear truth.  Asking those wise questions last year always got an answer.  A lot of answers were personal things that needed to be dealt with in me.  This even led me to go on a fear fast (that has not ended)!

Seeing Signs, Wonders and Miracles

Kathy Gabler — The words translated miracle or sign or wonder are, for the most part, interchangeable in the Bible. A working definition is: displays of the supernatural in this natural realm. That is encouraging in one way because that implies one reason we don’t see signs and wonders is because we don’t SEE them, even though they are on-going. How many of the 5000 plus that were eating on the hillside realized their lunch was a miracle? I’m thinking a good percentage didn’t have a clue! How many thousands of people saw the same star as the three kings, but didn’t know it was a sign and a wonder? When David saw Goliath, he wasn’t looking for a miracle! He was just looking for a rock! However, there were miracles (plural) in the mix that day, beyond the anointed impact of a rock from a sling. The whole scene was a miracle of timing, circumstance and possibly Goliath choosing the wrong helmet that day! Someone who is trained in CPR can easily fail to see the miracle of being in the right place at the right time to participate in the intervention of God in a situation. Isaiah 20:3, calls it a sign and wonder that Isaiah walked naked and barefoot for three years. I’m just not so sure his wife called that a sign and wonder!

We build definition boxes in our minds, then if supernatural interventions don’t fit in our box, we tend to miss it. I submit to you today that our thinking must change and is going to change. We cannot think as mere humans. We need Kingdom thinking as sons. Jesus said in John 14:12-13,“I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do—even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father! 13 For I will do whatever you ask me to do when you ask me in my name. And that is how the Son will show what the Father is really like and bring glory to him.

Angry Devil?

MPG Grace June2019We are reminded regularly that the devil is growing more angry as “he realizes how short his time is getting” and that, after all, he is the ruler of this age. But being the very embodiment of a philosophical self-centered viewpoint and an influential entity upon duped humanity is far different from being in charge. Ps. 24:1 The earth is the LORD’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

God has not given over the earth to the devil while He bites His nails hoping we will be able to hold on until we escape. In Matt. 6:13 “evil” means full of labors, annoyances, hardships; toils, perils; causing pain and trouble. Jn. 10:10-Jesus said that the devil’s baggage includes stealing, killing and destroying but that the Kingdom qualities of Jesus include life and that more abundantly. Jesus has outscored the devil at every turn.

Our Security

Kathy — Our security is not in having many absolutes to protect us, but in knowing Him who is absolute wisdom. Principles hold true, but they get put in priority order by the wisdom of God in every situation. Traditions can have us believing in our beliefs more than we believe in Him, and at that point His Word and counsel have no power or effect in us or for us. Our beliefs are not holy, He is. Therefore, let us give respect and follow through to the gates our holy and wise God builds specifically to get us to the fullest future He desires.

God-Ordained Doors

There are a variety of excuses for not going through God-ordained doors. Some of the doors are just beyond temptation, some just beyond ignorance and neglect and some are just beyond lethargy. Temptation can be resisted, ignorance can be displaced by willful pursuance of knowledge and wisdom. Neglect can be exchanged for responsible activity and lethargy can be handled by self-government. Matt.7:14,Amp — “But small is the gate and narrow and difficult to travel is the path that leads the way to [everlasting] life, and there are few who find it.”

Bolster the Prophetic Lifestyle

Melissa — How do we bolster the Prophetic Lifestyle? 1. Acknowledge there is an unseen realm and you were made for this because the One Who created you built the capacity in you for this lifestyle. 2. pray in tongues – Ephesians 3:16—“May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality].”  Praying in tongues strengthens your inner self/spirit so that you can decipher and see the unseen. 1 Corinthians 14:4a—“One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself.”  It takes edifying ourselves, by building up our spirit, to keep human nature from taking the driver’s seat.
Here is the current relevance for this line of thought. In this year, we are currently dealing with the epic fail of human nature/soul in our nation.  The chaos is being fueled and driven by the unseen realm and human nature is completely ignorant of it. This current status tells me we are at the climax of a lifetime.  I’m not speaking of the return of Christ, I’m talking about the Bride of Christ becoming what God planned for her to be. God’s original intent is in effect. It takes an acquaintance with the unseen to know that and to be a part of it.

The Scary Unknown

Kathy — Sometimes a gate God builds is not a welcomed sight.  It looks like a risk to us or a scary unknown.  We feel like we have the option to decide to just stay safely within our fence and familiar boundaries. The problem is that if we ignore the gates, we are locking ourselves into tradition just like the Pharisees.  We rarely see ourselves as Pharisees, but we too build personal traditions of men through the way we personally process instruction or the way we establish our own priorities or the way we come to our personal conclusions.  Our thought processes and priorities and conclusions are filters that can literally keep us from hearing what God is saying and thereby keep us refusing to acknowledge the Holy Spirit’s direction in our daily life.  So, “you make the word of God of none effect through your tradition, (KJV).  And you ignore God’s commands in order to follow your own teaching. “(CEV) Mark 7:13

Leeches Loosed

I saw people with several leeches attached to them and sucking life out of them. But the Great Physician (Mk.2:17), the Lord Jesus, is skillfully and surgically coming to remove those leeches by the ministry of His Spirit and His Word. There are people who have experienced the attaching of those “leeches” through the flooding and the flow of what is going on in culture and society and current events. There is a great deal of criticism in the atmosphere over our nation. It is spreading into every area and every kind of relationship. There are many battles and struggles between entities and interest groups in our nation. These “leeches” in the form of fear, doubt, concerns, and distress are sucking life and vitality and hope out of people. I declare that those “leeches” that have been sucking life from people, sucking enthusiasm, sucking energy and sucking hope will be removed. I declare that the great physician is skillfully removing those leeches from you. I declare that there won’t be any form of “septic reaction”, there aren’t going to be any wounds left to fester after the removal of those “leeches”. In place of those things, I speak to you life in Christ Jesus, I speak to you the life of His Word, I speak to you renewal, restoration. I want to declare over you that all of the negative stuff that has been going on for the last year and a half or so and that has been bombarding you, that which has been stolen from you, those things that have stolen peace, even stolen money, that which has stolen relationships, that which has stolen opportunities is being healed by the Great Physician as He administers His Spirit and His Word to your life. The Bible says that when the thief steals he is required to return seven times what he stole (Prov.6:31). May the Lord Jesus Christ minister to you deliverance, healing and seven times what the enemy has stolen from you.

The Soul and Sabotage

Melissa — Let’s look a little deeper at faith. Heb.11:1,Amp — “Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed):”   What is hoped for that is divinely guaranteed? Healing, a hope and a future, never being forsaken, His love, just to name a few.  BUT if human nature/soul is in the lead it can and probably will sabotage these in some way by needing to control. “…and the evidence {proof} of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].”  Prophetic Lifestyle, through faith, acknowledges that the unseen realm is as real as the seen.  Human nature/soul has a problem with what cannot be seen and touched.

God Gives a Gate

Kathy — God builds gates through a new thought, a new opportunity or a word of counsel.  After wearing a path around your fence lines looking for answers, a new gate is a welcomed sight.  One of my usual methods is to confront problems head-on until they are resolved.  One day I distinctly heard the Holy Spirit say, “Kathy, confrontation is not always the best method for resolve.”  That was not a  “traditional thought” for me, and it gave me new direction.  I could suddenly see the wisdom of not approaching a friend of mine and laying everything out verbally. Due to my friend’s temperament and personality, confrontation would be gas on their fire rather than water. That word from God became a gate into a whole new set of tools for resolving problems.

Looking Beyond, Around and Over

As the people of God assemble today may they look beyond, around, over and right through the threatening hindrances that seem to be screaming out their determined obstinance to the fulfillment of God’s Kingdom purposes in their lives. May they lift up their heads and see their King of kings high and lifted up and authoritatively above all opposing factors and persons. Rom.8:28,Amp—“And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.”

Goliath-Sized

When a Goliath-sized obstacle rears its head and begins to proclaim to us all the many pieces it is going to rip us into, rather than trying to remember if our insurance premiums are paid, we should try to remember God’s Word over our life. Rather than predicting the picture of desolation this monster will leave us the subject of, we best begin to proclaim the purposes and prophecies of God for us and our seed. Heb.10:23,Amp—“Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful [to His word];”

Evidence of Things not Seen

Melissa — Speaking of faith, faith is unseen.  Human nature has a hard time with faith because of this. Why wait on some unseen force when I can make something happen now? This passage of scripture on faith is basically the handbook on the Prophetic Lifestyle: “Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. 2 For by this [kind of] faith the men of old gained [divine] approval. 3 By faith [that is, with an inherent trust and enduring confidence in the power, wisdom and goodness of God] we understand that the worlds (universe, ages) were framed and created [formed, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose] by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.” Hebrews 11:1-3 AMP

Stand Firm on the Word

We must stand firm and solid upon the Word of God for we have been given a Kingdom that cannot be shaken. Heb.12:28, Amp — “Let us therefore, receiving a kingdom that is firm and stable and cannot be shaken, offer to God pleasing service and acceptable worship, with modesty and pious care and godly fear and awe;”  We must (1) pray every opportunity that arises; (2) call ourselves and others into alignment with the written Word of God and with prophecy (we mustn’t speak out disagreement with the Word and what we have prayed and declared); (3) speak the opposite of what we see. Back when the mask emphasis was being so stressed a woman left the service at Grace and went to a store. A man was not standing right on the tape square for social distancing and the woman behind him began screaming at him and he began screaming back at her. The whole atmosphere was in an uproar. The lady from Grace just began to quietly declare the peace of Jesus and the whole thing quieted down and everyone went through the line without any further disturbance. Ps.4:8, Amp — “In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord, alone make me dwell in safety and confident trust. Isa.33:22, TPT—”The Lord Yahweh is our judge, our Lawgiver, and our King; He will save us completely!”

A Grievous Pang of Body

Kathy — As I considered the prayer of David in Ps.139:23, I noticed the definition of “wicked” even included: “a grievous pang of body.”  Many people are distracted or diverted from their destiny by physical distress.  I believe this prayer could be the catalyst for change in our physical bodies as well.  I pray, “Lord, reveal any sorrow or offense that is the root of disease or dysfunction in my body.  Don’t let me hold to any issue or belief that hinders my soul or body.  Let neither soul nor body distract me or defeat me as I follow your lead in the ordained path you have for me.  I am confident that with your answer will come the grace to make any changes necessary and remove mountains WITHIN in the remainder of this year.”  Amen.

Strength of Prophetic Lifestyle

Melissa — The strength of human nature comes from being in charge, having control, trust in self and the tangible. The strength of the Prophetic Lifestyle comes from faith, knowing the Great I Am exists and trusting His love and plan.

Search me, O God

Kathy — As he prayed “Search me, O God, and know my heart,” (Ps. 139:23) David wasn’t just praying for an examination and a test score. He was positioned to repent. He submitted to God knowing God’s answer or instructions would bring change in his thinking and his opinions, perhaps in his relationships and daily lifestyle. David knew he must release fear or grief or offense as God pointed them out so that those things would not block his view of God.

Avert the Curse

As the people of God assemble today may they look to their heavenly Father, trust in Him as their loving Father and emulate Him in this hour so that the hearts of the children will be turned to them and to God and avert the curse. Mal.4:6,Amp—“He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers [a reconciliation produced by repentance], so that I will not come and strike the land with a curse [of complete destruction].”

God in Response to Prayers

I received the longest text I have ever received with a testimony from a woman we have known for decades. About a month before, she was dying from several life-threatening issues and required immediate surgery. She lives by herself and was unable to work and was physically wasting away (90#). Let me share with you the high spots: She says, “I had stopped praying. I had basically given up. But thanks to you and Kathy and Melissa not giving up on me and praying for me, I have truly come out of illness, a dark place. My mind is clear. I’m back on my knees praying. God has blessed me so much since my surgery. I am working out again, eating again, doing things for my elderly mother and praying nonstop for my family.”  Blessed be the name of the Lord forever! Don’t stop praying for people. God is moving in response to your prayers, even in the midst of national crisis.

More Than Meets the Eye

Melissa — Let’s break it down. The Prophetic lifestyle (spiritually minded) is based on realizing there is more going on than meets the eye. There is an unseen realm always present and in action in the midst of the seen realm.  “For ever since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through His workmanship [all His creation, the wonderful things that He has made], so that they [who fail to believe and trust in Him] are without excuse and without defense.” (Romans 1:20, AMP)
Human nature/soul (carnally minded) is largely based on the seen realm without much thought or regard for the unseen.  “Now the mind of the flesh is death [both now and forever—because it pursues sin]; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace [the spiritual well-being that comes from walking with God—both now and forever]; the mind of the flesh [with its sinful pursuits] is actively hostile to God. It does not submit itself to God’s law, since it cannot,” (Romans 8:6-7)The word ‘carnal’ in vs. 6 – sarx (Greek) – literally means “human nature”To be “human nature” minded is deadly? How so? Because human nature wants to be in charge — reasonable, logical and do it ourselves.
Human nature is carnally minded and operates in the seen realm which is based on man’s power, wisdom and experience. The Prophetic Lifestyle is spiritually minded and operates in the unseen and seen realm based on the wisdom and power of God for every situation. “If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5, AMP)

The Mountains Within David

Kathy — May we be like David as he prayed for the mountains within himself to be revealed in Ps.139:23,24. “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” (NKJV) A paraphrased word study reveals this in his prayer: “O God, examine me and reveal my mind, my knowledge, my thinking, my memories, my inclinations, my determinations, my conscience, my moral character, my appetites, my emotions and my passions.  Scrutinize me and reveal my disturbing thoughts and opinions.”  When David asked God to search him for wicked ways he was NOT on a guilt-driven search for evil and moral decay in himself.  The word translated “wicked” here is used only two other times in the Old Testament and both times it was translated “sorrow.”  So David was asking God to see if there were any high places of idolatry in him that had been built on wounds or offense or sorrow or hardship or bitter memories.  He was asking God to see if there  was any experience or threat bigger or more important to him than God.  David knew those things could distort God’s counsel and instructions and even block him from God’s presence.  Every soulish mountain-stronghold becomes a blind spot that blocks us from seeing God’s truth and purpose, thereby keeping us from God’s presence and plans in some part of our life.
