Breaking out of old Patterns

BreakthroughwallGod is breaking us out of old patterns. He is breaking old patterns of habits, of things that defeat us, the old patterns of thoughts and attitudes that lead us into defeat. He is breaking those old patterns so that we can walk in freedom and be at peace in His purposes. “He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.” (Ps.23:3, NKJV)

God-Cloaked Answers

Have you ever had times when a revelatory nugget pops up, then within days you hear the same nugget from other sources? That’s been happening as of late and I’m learning curtainpullbackto pay attention to those! Following is one such instance that has been not only ringing in my ear, but answering some of those seemingly unanswerable questions.
While in conversation this was quoted to me from a book, “God hides some things for specific times so that the enemy cannot destroy them.” That stuck with me, and a couple of days later I read a quote from some- one else that was expressing the exact same thought! Well, that really hit me between the eyes, especially because these came from trusted sources. It was an “Are you listening?” moment.
I began meditating on God hiding something for a specific time, and it felt like this statement began filling cracks in my understanding. If God cloaks something for a time, it is not only to hide it from the devil and his destructive minions, but it is also to hide it from our own self sabotage. Yes, the devil and self-sabotage are two different things. However, the devil LOVES stoking the flames of self sabotage! All we have to do is let our fears and concerns fall out of our mouths like kindling for the enemy’s threatening bonfire. So many times we make the devil’s job so easy.

Stir up the Gift

firePaul urged Timothy, “Stir up the gift of God within you” (2Tim.1:6 KJV). There was no impassioned plea for Timothy to sit quietly by until a holy stick-bearing angel came and stirred up the fire. Actually, the imperative is to do just the opposite: “[You] Fan into flame the gift of God.” This phrase was used in the common vernacular of the time to describe the rekindling of a fire that had been allowed to die down through neglect (W.E. Vine).

We Will See With Our Own Eyes

There are blessings, signs, wonders and miracles about to happen in our lives, our eyefamilies, our churches and our nation because God was witnessing of it before you and I were ever born—for His Name’s sake. We will not fall backward from promise in our confession. We will not say as Abraham, “Since You have given no offspring to me, one born in my house is my heir.” (Gen.15:3). Because He who is Witness responds “This man will not be your heir; but one who will come forth from your own body, he shall be your heir.” (v.4) We will not see promise from afar or second-hand. We will see it with our own eyes and give Almighty God praise.

Not Preoccupied With Others Views

The thief of Jn.10:10 will get us preoccupied with other people’s views of our TalkingPointingrelationship with God or their opinion of the likelihood of God’s promise coming to pass in us. He wants us totally dismayed with the time period between promise and fulfillment. Such a spirit readily points out failed relationships and failed attempts “to be a part of” so it appears that there is now a “blemish” on our calling. His memory works overtime reminding us of failed or unheeded opportunities. Hence, the implication of our being unworthy or unreliable as participants in any divine purpose. [Therefore] My brothers and sisters, try hard [make every effort; strive] to be certain that you really are called and chosen by God [confirm your calling and election]. [For] If you do all these things, you will never fall [stumble]. (2Pe.1:10, EXB)

Father’s Hearts Affirming

As the people of God assemble today, may hearts of fathers be turned to the coming FatherArmAroundSongeneration. May fathers in our congregations discern the potential of the youth around them and let their hearts be turned to affirming them, encouraging them and enabling them on to their destiny in Christ. May this be the most memorable Father’s Day with fathers and children turned to each other in love and in honor, grasping the heavenly Father’s heart for the generations to glorify His intent. “May the Lord richly bless both you and your children.” (Ps.115:14, TLB)

Like Father, Like Son

Jesus was the Kingdom of God exposed to mankind. In Jesus, the Kingdom was FatherArmAroundSon1observed (Matt.12:28). In Jn.1:14 The Message version puts it like this:  “The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish.” Though the Father was sitting upon a throne in heaven, He could be seen in the earth in Jesus as He interacted with His environment. (Jn.20:21b) Jesus said, “…as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” There are people in our neighborhoods and at our jobs and in our families who need to see the Father through us. We are praying you discover daily that your life is reflecting Jesus.

Whose Report Will You Believe?

That dreadful dream detractor, that depreciating disparager is a thief and has come lookintodistance“only to steal and kill and destroy (Jn.10:10).” His goal is to steal away a word, a hope, a dream or a vision that God has given. He would love for you to think it has been canceled or, at the very least, that you will have to settle for something less. You end up bedraggled, talking like, “It’s not going to be what I originally expected it would be but ‘many are the trials of the righteous’ and I’m just glad to know the Lord.” The detractor spirit finds many an ear willing to listen, willing to believe and willing to act on the altered information. BUT, whose report will YOU believe?  “The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, And a good report makes the bones healthy.” (Prov.15:30, NKJV)

Live and Deliver

Anything that has to do with deliverance, anything that would bring you to possess Moses bulrushes.jpgthe land, anything that would bring you to a new chapter in your life must be nourished. If it is nourished it will overcome Pharaoh (Just like Moses was saved and nourished). God nourishes us and those dreams, hopes and promises He gives us so that they might live and deliver. “But Zion said, The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me. Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. Your sons hasten back, and those who laid you waste depart from you! (Isa.49:14-17).”

To Show Lovingkindness

MinisteringThis is the day the Lord has made so…  I will rejoice and be glad because, in this day, the Spirit of the Lord and His compassion are enabling me to show loving-kindness and mercy while I am plowing up ground to make way for the development and effect of good that will make a difference in someone’s life.  “Do they not err who devise evil and wander from the way of life? But loving-kindness and mercy, loyalty and faithfulness, shall be to those who devise good.” (Prov.14:22, Amp)

Wind and Confidence

If the detractor cannot knock you completely out of the race, he wants the wind and CARFAX 250confidence knocked out of you so that your performance is hindered. It would be somewhat like a high performance racecar driver pulling in for a pit stop and saying, “Don’t put much gas in the tank and don’t put on any new tires because I don’t deserve it the way I’ve been driving.” Cf.”For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through Him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ (2Co.1:20).” Never stop saying “Amen” to what God has said.

The How of God’s Promises Not Our Concern

PathLightWalkNothing is birthed and the flames of gifting fade away when we take our focus off “God said” and place it on our inner doubts and struggles. Those doubts are fed by the detractor and those he enlists. What God promises, He also performs. The “how” of it is not our concern. It is God’s and it is no problem (cf.Heb.11:3). Cf.”Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart (Ps.37:3-4).”

Be Concerned for One Another

As the people of God assemble today may they look to their all-sufficient, beneficent Pray one anotherGod and may they then look upon one another and consider the other’s concerns. May there be interest in the well-being of one’s brothers and sisters in Christ and may there be prayers, encouragements, words of knowledge and prophecies to strengthen the saints. “Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others. Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:]” (Phil.2:4-5, Amp)

Forgiveness is not About Deserving

Forgiveness is not about deserving but rather unbinding. “Forgive us as we forgive TwoPeopleTalkingthose who trespass against us” is not a request for forgiveness so God won’t be mad at us. It is a request that God free us from sin that stops us short of His glory, free us of the things that cause us to detour or delay or destroy His original intent for us; free us from issues that keep us from getting where we were born to go. —Kathy Gabler

The Detractor Steals

The enemy of your promise does not have to completely destroy that promise. If he can’t get it all he’ll be satisfied with stealing a vital piece of it. That is the job of the ThiefRunningdetractor spirit. A detractor is something that takes away. It steals away pieces and takes away value from the whole making it incomplete, not fully functional, not fully serving its purpose. A detractor takes a spray can and paints smudges on a beautiful statue and vulgarities on a clean wall. A detractor draws a mustache on an exquisite painting. If someone notices a lady and says, “Isn’t she beautiful?” the detractor responds, “Yes, but her nose is too big.”
That spirit has a way of making things or people look and sound unattractive, unworthy or unuseful even though they may have legitimately been at one time. It devastates or, at the least, depreciates. It loves to make the promise of God appear difficult or unattainable. We just need to realize though, that if God promises, He is the One who brings it to pass. Beware all detractors that get in the way of God’s moving toward fulfillment. He performs that which He promises (Rom.4:21). “…and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.” (Rom.4:21)

Resolve Tired

If we are tired and ignore tired and do not resolve tired, we can slide into weariness. Then our attitude is affected. Like in an airplane, the wrong attitude will Tiredrunnerchange the final outcome.  Attitude that is off a few degrees will influence our decisions and choices, causing them to miss the mark by a few degrees.  That can lead to disappointment, despair and even desperateness.  Recognize the first signs of tiredness and take a break for rest.  It is during those times the Holy Spirit can redefine “well doing” if necessary. If you get to the “weary” phase you can miss the harvest, you can miss the good results simply because you have lost focus and are not looking.  “And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.” (Gal.6:9, Amp) — Kathy Gabler

Would You Buy a Bird Without a Song?

Would you buy a bird without a song or a dog without a bark? Then don’t “buy” bird singinganything from the devil or this world system that is less than what God has promised. If you went to a hospital to have a baby and they brought out a large doll and said, “This is your baby,” would you just simply accept it “because that’s the way things are, that’s just the way things worked out this time?” Would you accept just a picture of your paycheck because your boss talked you into believing that it is a reasonable facsimile thereof? No you wouldn’t because you know very well that it would not be the real thing and you could not spend it. Therefore, don’t settle for anything less than the full promise of God which you know full well (cf.Rom.4:18).

Speaking and not Striking

God will faithfully modify our thinking with reference to philosophy of life, big rockconvictions and basic views of Himself. He is ALWAYS bigger than the “box” we put Him in. God is both capable and willing to modify the expression of one’s personality. (Now that’s the untouchable one.) Moses was supposed to lead Israel out of Egypt, not choke all the Egyptians one by one. He was supposed to speak to the rock, not strike it. The end result is not the only thing important to God. If we yield, God will modify everything necessary so that we will speak and not strike when He says, “Speak.” Cf.”Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive…(Js.1:12).”

Available to be Equipped to go Beyond

As the people of God assemble today may they put their hearts upon their Lord but CrowdWalkingbe aware of and available to be equipped for the great need beyond the four walls of the church building. May we see and embrace the desire of our Father’s creative heart for the advancement and benefit of His Kingdom in government, religion, arts and entertainment, family, education, science and technology, business and finance — and take His love, wisdom and solutions into those settings.

What Prayer is Not

BibleHandsPrayBefore Jesus taught the disciples to pray in Matthew 6, He told them what prayer was not:  prayer is not practicing your righteousness before men, prayer is not using surplus words trying to cover your bases and prayer is not from any motive that would manipulate God or man. –Kathy Gabler

Joseph’s Greater Dimension

LookingAheadLadderIt is doubtful that Joseph’s dream had been completely forgotten or buried under the ashes of unfulfilled years. He had a dream from God and it kept him alive and kept him going in the pit, in prison and in pressed service in a foreign land. The vision did not die but actually came to greater dimension than he had originally imagined!
