Forgiveness is not About Deserving
Forgiveness is not about deserving but rather unbinding. “Forgive us as we forgive those who trespass against us” is not a request for forgiveness so God won’t be mad at us. It is a request that God free us from sin that stops us short of His glory, free us of the things that cause us to detour or delay or destroy His original intent for us; free us from issues that keep us from getting where we were born to go. —Kathy Gabler
