It’s going to take loving the Truth (which is a Person—THE Person) to see great and mighty things for which an earth is groaning (Romans 8:17-19). It’s going to take some calling on that Person which requires relationship, not curbside pickup. And relationship takes time, time out of your day. This does not mean you have to set aside hours and hours every day. That is not a bad thing if that’s where you are currently, or a season you are headed into. Other than that, a relationship is all day everyday. (Fifth excerpt from Melissa Gabler’s article “Call on Him”.) Melissa is speaking and leading worship at Kingdom Congress 2018 – March 7-9. KINGDOM CONGRESS INFORMATION
News services are using their valuable air time and print space reporting on Christians declaring the end of the world. Christians have said time and time again throughout my lifetime that no generation has seen things worse than they are now, and it is now the end of the world and the coming of the Lord. They have looked up into the sky and sought all manner of natural signs to confirm their suspicions (Gal.4:10). Yet, I find it interesting that not one time have I heard anyone say that no generation of Christians has ever been more like Jesus than this generation (even after all these years and all these centuries of church attendance and observing the stars and dispensational charts). Amos has a great suggestion: “SEEK HIM that maketh the seven stars and Orion… THE LORD IS HIS NAME:” (Amos 5:8) Could it be that Amos would rather have us take valuable time and effort we are using to seek signs and actually use it to SEEK The LORD?
Apostle Paul’s great concern was not to get Christians off the planet but to, somehow, labor and strive until they were conformed to the image of Christ (Gal.4:19). Hopefully there will come a time when we become weary with following signs and we turn around and look behind us to see if there are any signs following us. (Mark 16:17) “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;” It’s not time for the end. It’s time for the sons of God to be manifest (have signs follow them) as the answer to the groaning of creation (Rom.8:19,22). Then maybe news services will have something really worthwhile to report about what Christians are saying AND doing.

Sons of the Kingdom become the answer to the groaning of creation which we read about in the book of Romans (8:19,22). In the original language, groaning creation is pictured in such a way that it is expectantly stretching the neck to glimpse that which is beyond itself and beyond its present plight. That which creation is stretching its neck to see, or those who it is stretching its neck to see, are their hope of lifting them out of their plight.

Listening to some Christians talk at church, in the marketplace and in social media, at the end of the day, it sounds like they have decided they “want off the program”. Their terminology accompanied by accents of fear leaves the impression that they have completely forgotten the mandate of our LORD, “Go ye into all the world” (i.e., all seven mountains of influence in culture to establish the government and culture of Jehovah) and have opted for “get off the program—get off the planet”. One thing western Christianity must continually contend with is the desire to get off the planet every time our comfort zones appear to be threatened. A couple of Walmart closures had some Christians so upset that they believed most of what misguided and mischievous people on the internet were attempting to perpetrate about the closures and were ready to go to heaven. While they were ready to go to heaven, creation continued to groan for manifestation of the sons of God (Rom.8:19, 22) rather than the departure of God’s sons for some place more comfortable. Since when is fear, of any kind, to be the rule upon which the decision to opt in or opt out of Christ’s mandate tolerable? Somehow, it is very difficult to imagine Apostle Paul having a nervous breakdown over a colorful moon or the inability to purchase kosher food right in one’s own neighborhood. Until the mandate of The Lord is fulfilled (Ps.110:1), there is no option offered to “get off this program”, regardless the moon. There is no scripture that says, “Be ye slackers and fearful so things can get worse quicker so the coming of the Lord can happen sooner.” (Compare: Gen.15:1; Deut.20:3;31:6; Josh.1:7; 2Chron.32:7; Lk.12:7; 12:32; Rev.1:17) Jesus said, “Go ye” (Matt.28:19) and He never said, “Come back”.

(Kathy Gabler) What “used to be” is not the witness that will impact a community or a region for the Kingdom. I AM is being misrepresented if He is not present tense and awesome. If we refuse to allow pride or fear to keep us from fresh and timely obedience, sons of God will be redefined and repositioned as needed and we will flow into a momentum that causes the good plans of God to manifest. The groaning (Rom.8:19) communities and regions will reel with the supernatural results and exponential harvest that He has planned.

We are instructed by our Lord to pray, “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” It goes without saying that (1) we are to expect that Kingdom to come as we pray and (2) we are the ones through whom that Kingdom is demonstrated. Creation is groaning for the manifestation of the sons of God who have given themselves over to the redemptive rule of God and allow that rule to be extended through them.

The whole Story is about JESUS. Since the whole Story is about Him, how can it all be winding down for the Church? “But Jesus answered them, My Father has worked [even] until now, [He has never ceased working; He is still working] and I, too, must be at [divine] work.” (Jn 5:17) When does the Father or the Son ever stop working? And… if They are working, is Their work any less than perfection of purpose no matter what the view from our angle? How could the Church Jesus is building be one generation away from extinction? How could the Bride that Jesus will marry go to her wedding in shame and defeat? How can the Head have a body that is defunct? Eph 5:27 shows us that His Church is a “glorious Church” and in Heb 12:27 it is the instrument of the Kingdom that cannot be shaken: 27 “The phrase ‘one last shaking’ means a thorough housecleaning, getting rid of all the historical and religious junk so that the unshakable essentials stand clear and uncluttered. 28 Do you see what we’ve got? An unshakable kingdom! And do you see how thankful we must be? Not only thankful, but brimming with worship, deeply reverent before God. For God is not an indifferent bystander.” (The Message) His Kingdom is an ever-increasing Kingdom, not an unwinding Kingdom. (Isa 9:7; Dan 2:35; Mt.13:33) God is wound up about His Son’s destiny and the destiny of JESUS is realized in the sons of the Kingdom and we will not stop short of the glory of God. “For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship].” (Rom 8:19, Amp)
