Christ and His Government

Acts 2:41 — “Then those who gladly received his word were baptized [were changing governments]. And the same day there were added about three thousand souls.  42  And they were continuing steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine.”  The Apostles’ doctrine has two main themes, Christ and His government. That includes Christ’s ManBowingCross.jpgbirth, His earthly ministry, His death, burial and resurrection, His ascending and sitting on a throne and His sending the Holy Spirit. All that can be summed up in Christ and His government. As the apostolic grace is being restored back to the Body of Christ, the message we hear all over the land is “The Kingdom of God”. Ten years ago people would not let us talk about the Kingdom of God. (I’ve got the scars to prove it.) People don’t mind others going to church or singing songs or doing good works or talking of going to heaven, but changing government is radical. When men stand before judgment, they will not be judged for their sins. They will be judged for what they did with Christ. —Simon Purvis (Simon will be speaking at Kingdom Congress Mar.5 at 10:30am.)

What is Going On?

A question I have heard asked repeatedly over the last few months is: “What is going on?” There is a sudden dawning upon people and nations that manshouldersshrugthings are not the way they used to be while there is an underlying desire within the breast of the typical person for things to go back to the way they were in spite of the ever-present fear that they won’t. Even if you could get back to “the good old days” you would find them woefully inadequate in their revelation and application for today. Current events are not just the result of bad politics or bad politicians. They were not left in charge. An apostolic order for accommodating and advancing the Kingdom of God in the earth was the design when Jesus ascended to the right hand of Majesty on High (Acts 1:3). Things, therefore, must shake and adjust so that the nations might come into correct order.

Preferred Government

Preferred Government—Nebuchanezar was in office for an unlimited term. Nebuchanezar is the one who took the choicest of Israel’s future threehebrewsand enslaved them for the purpose of culturizing them to the values of Babylon. In spite of that fact the Hebrews Daniel, Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego triumphed and impacted the culture of Babylon with the precepts of Jehovah. (Let us not forget that much prayer was the habit of Daniel.) Saul was in office for an unlimited term. Saul is the one who attempted to murder the future of Israel’s government. In spite of that fact David triumphed. Saul was actually used as a catalyst to join the tribes of the nation to David and see that he was seated on the throne. (Remember: David is an OT type of the NT Christ) After being under Saul’s government, Israel much preferred the government of David (NT Christ) over the government of Saul (Heb.: “desired”). He who was so desired became so undesired. (Let us not forget that much worship was the habit of David.)

Mountains To Hills To Victory

Mountains To Hills To Victory (by Kathy Gabler)

While focused on circumstances, the Holy Spirit instructed me to speak to the “mountain” within. In a matter of seconds the Lord made me to understand that outward circumstances were not the real problem.  God could, in seconds, remove every hindrance and pull every devil off my back and, if that were best for me, He would.  So as good as that sounds, there is obviously something better. One of God’s principles is that He looks at the heart, not the outward appearance.  He deals with the root rather than just the fruit.  If my problem went away but could return and cause the same reaction in me, then the mountain is not really gone, it has just become a hill temporarily . . . until floods of life’s circumstances cause it to swell again. (Mt17:20)

Enablements That Communicate

Enablements That Communicate

As we go into the future, Holy Spirit will impart to us enablements that communicate in language that reaches people where they are. In one meeting I spoke of the greatness of God and the many dimensions in the universe. Afterward, a scientist who had helped develop the Apollo rocket walked up and engaged me in conversation about dimensions. I ended up ministering to him about his purpose and counseling him concerning his marriage. On several occasions, people working in the government of our nation have contacted Kathy for help interpreting their dreams and she was able to prophesy to them concerning God’s purposes in their future. In a meeting, I spoke of righteous legislation for our nation. A man who is running for the U. S. Senate was in that meeting. One of his aides contacted me and told me that the gentleman wept openly in the meeting because of what the Lord spoke to him concerning legislation for our nation. In the play Julius Ceasar Mark Antony cries out, “Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears.” I believe that today our Lord’s cry is, “Sons, daughters, believers, lend me your capacities to communicate.” Believers have not yet seen everything our Lord will do to us and through us for His Kingdom purposes but…. we are available.
