Acts 2:41 — “Then those who gladly received his word were baptized [were changing governments]. And the same day there were added about three thousand souls. 42 And they were continuing steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine.” The Apostles’ doctrine has two main themes, Christ and His government. That includes Christ’s birth, His earthly ministry, His death, burial and resurrection, His ascending and sitting on a throne and His sending the Holy Spirit. All that can be summed up in Christ and His government. As the apostolic grace is being restored back to the Body of Christ, the message we hear all over the land is “The Kingdom of God”. Ten years ago people would not let us talk about the Kingdom of God. (I’ve got the scars to prove it.) People don’t mind others going to church or singing songs or doing good works or talking of going to heaven, but changing government is radical. When men stand before judgment, they will not be judged for their sins. They will be judged for what they did with Christ. —Simon Purvis (Simon will be speaking at Kingdom Congress Mar.5 at 10:30am.)
Repentance is not just a call to confess sin so you will miss hell. It is to change your mind and see things as God sees them. It is to look at life with the power of God factored into the picture. It means change your thinking wherever necessary so you are empowered to do all that God intended in your lifetime and in eternity as well. It takes the Holy Spirit to open our minds and see things differently. (Acts 2:38) —Kathy
As the people of God assemble today may the order of the Lord Most High prevail over the order of religion. May He truly be able to take His liberty in spite of the agendas of the western mindset in order that we may know, experience and emulate Him who birthed, invaded and empowered the church in the upper room–the church that “turned the world upside down.” May our Lord’s version of “decently and in order” prevail as freely as it did in Acts 2 for the purposes of our Lord getting the results of Acts 2. “And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:2-4, NKJV)
God Almighty is the God of the moment. He acts in a moment’s time. Things the Lord declared suddenly came to pass (Isa.48:3, Amp); Sodom was overthrown in a moment (Lam.4:6, Amp); in a moment, the dead in Christ shall be raised imperishable (1Cor.15:52, Amp); enemies turned back in a moment (Ps.6:10, ESV); a nation can be born in a moment (Isa.66:8, LEB); Israel went out of Egypt suddenly (Deut.16:3, WYC); God enabled Joshua to come upon the enemy suddenly (Josh.10:9;11:7, Amp); the house of God was suddenly filled with a cloud (2Chron.5:13, WYC); the service of the house of the Lord was restored suddenly (2Chron.29:36, Amp); after instructing the Israelites to dig trenches in a dry valley so they and their animals could drink while under attack from the enemy, rain water that had fallen three days journey away suddenly filled them (2K.3:20, Amp); suddenly, a man dressed in bright, dazzling clothing stood before Cornelius (Acts 10:30, Amp);suddenly a sound came from heaven like a rushing violent wind (Acts 2:2, Amp). One of the benefits of the church trampling on destructive serpents and exercising the King’s redemptive power is healing and deliverance. People get healed without anyone laying hands on them. People walk up after a meeting and tell me they were healed of something that was not even mentioned in a word of knowledge. People with cancer are healed without anyone laying hands on them. We heard a report of severe Parkinson’s being healed. An alcoholic was completely delivered during a ministry time of word of knowledge and prophecy but no form of dependency was even mentioned in the word. He was delivered right where he was seated. His wife reported that she knew the moment he was delivered. A very angry, rebellious 16 year old whose father had abandoned him attended one of our meetings recently after having refused to attend with his mother for months. At the end of the service his mother asked him if he would let me pray for him. He came forward with her and I prayed for them and prophesied to him. The word of the Lord so impacted him that his life was transformed. He was totally different from that moment. On his own accord he went to the pastor and apologized and asked him to be his father and volunteered for any work needing done. We are already seeing the power of the new era. For God to get something transitioned from His heart into the earth, He must find someone or several someones to cooperate. In order to cooperate, those someones must be willing to add to their present experiences. They must be courageous enough, hungry enough to accept new experiences from God! Some people have nailed down the lid on their “experience box”. Others have closed the file on further experiences from with God. Some have closed the books to any more entries. Jesus commanded 500 of His followers, “Tarry in Jerusalem until….” Yet only 120 went to Jerusalem and “waited until”. Why should 380 people who have the attitude “Been there, done it, got a T-shirt” “wait until”? The Promise of the Father came. A group of people still received power from heaven. But the point is: 380 people didn’t get over their bewilderment and receive. 380 people ended up merely reading about what happened to 120!
