Melissa—While thinking about recent events I had to deal with, the scripture Isaiah 54:17 “no weapon formed against you will prosper” came up again. This time, however, I saw it differently. I think a lot of times this is used as a defensive scripture when really it is an offensive scripture. God equips us for the weapon BEFORE, not after, it is formed against us. The reason the weapon doesn’t prosper is because He already set countermeasures in place prior to its launch. He already equipped you with everything necessary to walk out of this battle in tact. That, my friends, is an offensive scripture loaded for battle!

Distorted by Darkness
Kathy—Many of the battles we are seeing erupt in our nation are starting from the wars within people because hatred or deception or pride or greed or fear or lust or revenge has divided their heart and conscience. Here again is the divide and fall principle. A conscience that is divided has a tainted sense of right and wrong and cannot stand as a moral guide. Just consider corrupt politicians and fake news media that have divided themselves from truth and accuracy to boldly lie and mouth a weaponized script. Their consciences have been so distorted by darkness that they call evil good and good evil. Isaiah 5:20 spells out the results of such subversion: “Woe (pain or grief) to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! You accept bribes to let the guilty go free, and you cheat the innocent out of a fair trial. You will go up in flames like straw and hay.”

Spread Contagious Hope
As the people of God assemble today may they experience assurance that they have a mandate from Jehovah God to be filled with the Holy Spirit so they can go forth and be witnesses of the resurrection power of Jesus. May they be filled with hope and purpose and go into the coming week with a contagious hope of seeing the display of the mighty hand of Yahweh in the future of their lives and the future of this nation. Acts 1:8—“…you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and you shall be…”

Mandate Still in Place
OUR MANDATE FROM GOD HAS NOT CHANGED. The mandate is still in place. It has not changed just because there is political turmoil throughout the nation and throughout the world or because there is a natural disaster in several nations at one time. We don’t have to look for a new mandate because it is the same one we have had for a long time (Mt.28:18-20); we just need to begin to give ourselves, our effort and our money to it. We are still supporting missions and investing in our spiritual sons/daughters, still making plans for the future and increasing efforts for the Kingdom. There are people talking about changing their plans and goals for their church because the coming of the Lord is so near. What we best be planning is planning to live like we have never lived for the purposes of God. Perhaps we should put less emphasis on talking about a Savior and begin to live like we have a Lord Who has left us with a mandate and display that Savior.

On a New Page
Melissa—You are no longer under subjugation of fear, diagnosis, lack, delay, the past, oppression, depression, or even snares in your bloodline. You’re on a new page of your life. Just know that things are about to get amazing and shift in ways we cannot imagine. This may seem like a crazy thing to say in the middle of a year that is so chaotic but the truth is far more powerful than the lie. You are free and about to see great and mighty things on a much larger scale.

Things Within Causing Reactions
Kathy—Faults and slips and offenses are issues of the heart that affect how we think and therefore affect how we pray. The insight here is that since our heart-thinking can be tainted or wrong at times, so can our prayers. For example, I hate injustice. That sounds noble and right in itself, but if I am offended by unfairness it is possible that my prayers could stem from hatred of injustice instead of a God-view to resolve injustice. Although an injustice is outside of me, the hatred of it is within and sometimes things that are within us cause a reaction instead of a godly response. With an inner flareup of thoughts and impulses I could easily find myself cursing those involved instead of discerning the root of the matter to confront with effectual prayer. And hatred could thrust me into war within that damages my health and never even affects the problem. Prayer from the wrong perspective or wrong attitude is not effectual because it simply does not align with God, and it will not bring a powerful God-result.

STAGING AND SUDDENLIES
There is a staging going on in the spirit realm. God is processing and placing people and things in proper order so that His purposes are fulfilled by the moving of His hand. What will seem like suddenlies will come into being because of God’s careful staging of the events long before they manifested. Some of the frustration people are dealing with is the lack of their knowledge of what God is doing behind the veil which is beyond their comprehension and beyond their preoccupying worries. Just because we cannot comprehend the actions of an all-wise God while many voices of judgment and despair are speaking, doesn’t mean that this God is inactive or withholding His actions. The whole world was in turmoil while Noah was able to hear God’s preparation plan for his family.

Awake at the Wheel
Melissa—No longer subjugated, deliverance, out from under life-long oppression, finally turning a page—this is all part of the awakening we have been hearing about for a decade. Spiritual War and Effectual Prayer
Kathy—Spiritual war requires effectual prayer. Before James 5:16 talks about effectual prayer and its powerful results, it first says: “Confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed.” In the previous verse 15, it said the prayer of faith heals the sick. Verse 16 says prayer after confession of your faults heals. Evidently, verse 15 is healing of the body and verse 16 is healing of the heart (soul). Verse 16 goes on to say: “The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.” (NASB) “Very strong is a righteous petition, being made effective.” (LITV) That tells us that effectual prayer that gets powerful results is prayer from a healed heart able to pray from a right motive and perspective.
