As the people of God assemble today may they realize afresh that Pharaoh’s snakes 
and their handlers were handled quite effectively by Aaron’s rod (Yahweh’s authority). Yahweh’s heavenly authority exercised through his representatives on earth swallowed up the instruments of threat and intimidation from darkness. Yahweh’s Kingdom is ever-increasing and He still desires His authority to be displayed in the earth to the glory of His name and the advancing of His purposes. ”Pharaoh called in his wise men and sorcerers. The magicians of Egypt did the same thing by their incantations: each man threw down his staff and they all turned into snakes. But then Aaron’s staff swallowed their staffs.” (Ex.7:11-12, Msg)

The ugly, less-than-desirable offensiveness of darkness must be revealed so that the authoritative, superior government of Jahweh may deal with it. That which is 
hidden in individuals and power structures must be manifested (yes, even in all its ugliness and vile expressions-Mk.4:22). The reason some celebrities and politicians are so opposed to the present administration (and even appear demonized in their reactions) is because the truth of their vileness is being exposed and they know there is more exposure coming. While some in the religious community are loudly voicing the evilness and, therefore, “shortness of the days” we are living in, and while brazen opposition is ferociously attacking all that is sacred, it might behoove the people of the Kingdom of Light to realize that the “nasties” and the “uglies” are being manifest so that, through the sons of God, they may be dealt with (Jn.18:37; 20:21; 1Jn.3:8). We would do well to replace our cries of escapism with declarations of the authority of the risen Christ. Rather than cursing the vileness that is cancerously spreading in the nation, we could declare the known will of God which is life and redemption (Jn.10:10). The superior, authoritative instrument of Jahweh (Aaron’s rod = authority, Ex.7:12) swallowed up the instruments of threat and intimidation from darkness (magicians rods=magicians authority).

Contend for the word the Lord has given you.
1. CONTEND: “to excite oneself against a foe; to wage war.”
“…I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land. BEGIN TO POSSESS IT, and engage him in battle.” (Deut.2:24, NKJV)
2. WAGE WARFARE: “expedition; campaign”
“This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare,” (1Tim.1:18, NKJV)
Hint: The words “expedition” and “campaign” should be sufficient terminology to help us understand that contending for our word isn’t going to be just a day excursion. You’re going to have to take more than just your lunch.
3. HEED: “to attach oneself to; be given to or addicted to; to devote thought and effort to”
“And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;” (2Pe.1:19, NKJV)
CONTEND + WAGE WARFARE + HEED = keeping plenty busy!

By appointment of God Almighty (Ex.7:8-12), Moses and Aaron (leaders of one of the smallest nations on earth, which happened to be in covenant with Yaweh) 
courageously walked into the most powerful throne room on earth and demanded the freedom of the enslaved Israelites. The truth of Jahweh’s covenant (Ex.2:23-24) was that Israel was free and when confronted with that divine truth, Pharaoh called upon his wizards and thinkers and advisers to oppose that truth and its representatives. That confrontation of divine truth brought out the snakes! Things got real ugly real quick. There came forth rapidly spit incantations, the bellowing of ominous sounding chants and nasty snakes hissing and slithering, all with accompanying bells and metallic clanking of cultic accoutrements. It all appeared and sounded as though the pit of hell had regurgitated its evil confusion in the middle of regal opulence. When the truth is put forth and someone takes a stand on it in any generation, “the snakes” and their “handlers” will puff up and threateningly hiss their protests. Nevertheless, there will always be those prepared by God who will stand unmovable upon the truth though it be in the face of “snakes”.

The truth will come out and that will draw out the “snakes”. The “snakes” will come 
out of hiding. It is a law that God built into the universe. (Matt.10:26, Amp) “So have no fear of them; for nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, or kept secret that will not become known.” (Lk.12:2-3, Amp) ”Nothing is [so closely] covered up that it will not be revealed, or hidden that it will not be known. Two notable factors may be found in the authoritative words of our Lord: 1) everything hidden will be revealed and 2) have no fear of those who operate in darkness and do not fear the things they do in darkness. (Also, Isa.5:20; Isa.58:10; Micah 7:8; Matt.4:16; Lk.1:79; Jn.3:19; 8:12; 12:46; Acts 26:18; Rom.13:12; 1Cor.4:5; 2Cor.4:6; 1Pe.2:9)

We have an unshakeable Kingdom that is ever-increasing and that is why 
“Pharaoh’s snakes” are manifesting and making a show of themselves with their threatenings and attempting to intimidate. Those of the Light stand up, confront and contradict opposition like the disciples did in Acts 4:29 — “And now they’re at it again! Take care of their threats and give your servants fearless confidence in preaching your Message.” God’s Word, standards and truth will never be drug upon the auction block. I heard it said recently, “Truth sounds like hate to those who hate the truth”. One of my old professors Dr. Anthony Palma wrote a book entitled, “Truth: Antidote for Error”. Truth will contradict darkness and darkness will, in its humanistic determination, defensively and vehemently respond.

God’s Word in Heb 4:12 is not “penetrating to the dividing line of the soul and the 
spirit, and of joints and marrow, exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart” so that we can feel condemnation, but so we can get into agreement with the Word of His power. Getting into agreement with the Word is our living in such a way that the principles and values of the Word are evident in our lives. It will result in our living like we have a Lord and Savior.

When the prognosticators proclaim that powers, pressures and intimidation from “this quarter” and “that quarter” are pressing the church to conform to the demands of culture, and consequences will not be desirable if they do not bow, the people of the Kingdom of Light declare, “It does not matter what powers and pressures are applied. What God has started cannot be stopped!” (Isa.9:7). With that declaration on their lips stands a people who will not forfeit His covenant.

We are concerned for our children today, Holy Father. We pray that, where earthly fathers have failed, You reach out Your protecting Hand and speak with Your 
guiding Voice to the children and Youth of our nation. We pray that Your Presence would be known on our school campuses through the believers that are on site and that Your Holy Spirit would strengthen and give wisdom to the teachers and school officials for the appropriate education and safety of our children. We declare that the hand of the Lord is moving in behalf of our children and that no spirit or enemy that has designs on harming or destroying them shall succeed. We declare that no weapon formed against this generation will prosper. We declare an awakening of the righteous purpose of Almighty God in this generation that they might live righteously, courageously, and effectively to Your glory. “I do not ask that You will take them out of the world, but that You will keep and protect them from the evil one.” (Jn.17:15, Amp)

The Lord is challenging those who have been caught up in the spirit of breaking 
covenants and ignoring covenants; And those who have been robbed of the value and benefits of covenant will regard covenant as a must, will cling to people and opportunities, will repent, will rethink and will rebuild the walls that have been broken down.

One giant step in the direction of saving the “house” (Matt.7-built on rock) is to 
recognize that there is a vast difference between the kingdom of darkness and the Kingdom of Light, and the impossibility of bridging that disparity through any form of compromise or tolerance. before disappointing experiences, hurts, delay of time, and weariness jaded your expectancies. May the Lord bring back to you, in full bloom, the dreams of innocent, hopeful childhood–the hopes that He longed to facilitate when you were born. May we return our hearts to His longings and purposes that do not disappoint but that take us beyond our limited expectations by His grace and giftings. Repentance will not, in a wholesale flash, sweep a land in a few hours time. That repentance must begin in individuals and families. A few righteous legislators and 
justices will not, by themselves, produce a reformation. There must be a value base embraced by many in the land that will be the ripe field for the seeds of repentance and, hence, reformation. There have been a number across the grid of Christianity who have espoused an opinion that just getting “the right people” into the “right positions” would somehow open a grand dam of reformation that would flood the land. Right people in right places is a key factor but not the full recipe. When a nation has multiple churchmen and multiple churches making news headlines on a regular basis because of values that were traded for a ready-to-eat bowl of soup (Esau, Gen.25:29-34) in a moment of carnal passion or a moment of greed, a message has been sent to that nation (and to regional spiritual entities) that the values and basis of reformation (Holy Scripture) are held as less than supreme. What house has ever stood that divided itself from its foundation? We must fashion ourselves after the wise man of Matt.7:24-27 who built his house upon a rock so that the opposition of rains, floods and winds could not destroy it. There are those who have had doubt concerning the same issue over a long period 
of time. That doubt has become solidified through time and what seems to be irrefutable evidence. But the Lord is breaking up that solid doubt. Just as water becomes solidified, turning to ice, over time in cold weather–even so, the Lord is breaking up that doubt. Listen for the pressure on the “ice” of your doubt. It is beginning to crack and break up so that hope can surface fresh and new! “He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy,And will break in pieces the oppressor.” (Ps.72:4, NKJV)

A two-edged sword was so desirable in ancient battle because it cut coming and 
going and it cut right and left. The Word cuts like a two-edged sword to divide between the dominance of the soul and the spirit of a person. That continual drive of soulishness that feeds on carnal tendencies is brought into check by the power of the Word. At the time the Word precisely cuts and divides, we have an opportunity to respond to the Word and comply with it. Our responding and complying pushes down the dominating soul and allows our spirit to rise and grow with the Word. As the Word increases in our lives, sin’s ability to dominate decreases for sin shall not have dominion over you. (Rom 6:14)

Righteousness is not wrought in a nation because of the existence of acceptable political candidates. Righteousness cannot reign in a land until there is repentance (a change of mind and turning from unrighteousness) so that reformation may be the bone and the constant in the various limbs and avenues of societal function.
