MELISSA — Let’s look at “Call to me and I will answer you” through a modern American paradigm: I call on the Lord and He will answer – I will tell Him what I need and He will give it to me because He is a loving God. You know, kind of like curbside grocery delivery. I took the time to get my list together and I took the time to call about this list. Now, it’s on Him to deliver!I’m afraid we North Americans operate out of an entitled mindset not only in our relationship with earthlings, but also in our relationship with God. If I call on Him then ________ (insert pre-determined answer here). The problem with an entitled relationship with God is where the entitlement is rooted. If it is rooted in the Spirit, according to the covenant, then it will put you in a posture of dominion. If, however, it is rooted in the soul then it will hold you in a victimized defensive posture. The soul will keep you chained out of reach of God’s original intent which is indeed dominion. Or said another way, the soul will keep you from being heaven on earth.
MELISSA — During a time of ministry at a meeting a revered Prophet told me, “Read Jeremiah 33:3 everyday and watch what happens.” It’s certainly not an unfamiliar passage, but perhaps one that is easily forgotten in the midst of all the hustle, bustle and chaos. So, here you go (in 3 versions for impact): “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jer. 33:3 KJV “Call to Me and I will answer you, and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.” Jer. 33:3 AMP “Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.” Jer. 33:3 MSG.
”Call to Me and I will answer you” (Jer.33:3). This is a covenant God speaking. I can look back at these Old Testament scriptures and I can stand on them today, right here, right now today I can cry out, “Restore God!” Restore my finances, restore my health, restore my relationships, restore my hope because I also am a covenant man. The book of Hebrews says I have a better covenant than Old Testament Israel had (Heb.8:6). That is what you and I are standing in today, right now and I am urging you to cry out today, to cry restore! Don’t just cry out for your finances but your mental health, your physical health, your family’s relationship. Cry out for your hope for the nation, your hope for the body of Christ. Ps.34:17,Amp—”When the righteous cry [for help], the Lord hears And rescues them from all their distress and troubles.”
The Lord God Almighty is the One who actually commands us to call upon Him. Jer.33:3,Amp—”Call to Me and I will answer you, and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.’” That “call to me” is in, what linguists actually call, the command voice.The Hebrew word for “cry out”, tsa’aq, means to cry out or call out for help unto God under great distress. It also means to cry out in great desperation to Jehovah while in great need. It is the cry that calls out to Jehovah to display His power to glorify His name.

Holy Spirit, come and breathe upon the Word of God in our hearts that we may call upon Him so that He may show us great and mighty things. Come and witness to us today what shall be and what you shall grant by your power from your throne.
