What Yahweh Will Perform

As the people of God assemble today may they be looking around, not to see who is in attendance or who is absent but to see what wondrous act Yahweh will perform next in someone’s spirit or someone’s body or someone’s soul. “Now watch as the Lord does great miracles.” (1Sam.12:16, TLB)

Going out Weeping, Coming in With Joy

May you soon arrive at destinations that you have labored months or years to reach. May you get to experience the fulfillment of the completion of a commitment or a project. May you get to effectively apply training and may it profit you. Ps.126:5-6,Amp—“So those who planted their crops in despair will shout “Yes!” at the harvest, So those who went off with heavy hearts will come home laughing, with armloads of blessing.”

Unresolved Anger Undermines Joy

KATHY—Unresolved anger can become a driving force, a passion, an energy that can seem good and productive, while it undermines like termites until the core of character, integrity, hope and joy of life is eaten away.  Unresolved anger can become depression, fear, sickness and even a pattern of failure.  I know a young lady whose anger at criticism and injustice as a child kept her grieving.  She became a prisoner of her focus.  Because she could not take her eyes off of her victimization, she remained a victim, actually positioning herself for more criticism and injustice.  Resolving her anger was the release from the pattern.

Peace That you are Redeemed

Your Home #18 – May you carry in you the deep peace and knowledge that you are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb and may everyone in your home be saved and have that same peace.  “They replied, “Have faith in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved! This is also true for everyone who lives in your home.” (Acts 16:31, CEV)

Don’t Stay on the Defense

MELISSA—The initial hit from the enemy might require you to go on the defense, but you never stay there.  I will explain this in a tactical way.  I took self-defense classes for a number of years. One of my instructors recently said, “We teach you to defend yourself one time.  We will never teach you to stay in a defensive position.  You must counter, control, and finish the fight.”  Well, my goodness.  What strategy!  After you defend yourself one time from your enemy’s attack you then strike back with the weapons and skill God has given you. You can’t stay just in the defensive position. You propel forward because He already set up your counter measures and you are well armed and able!  What are your counter measures?  Number one: Scripture. Number two: your Holy Spirit-breathed prophetic words.  Other than that, whatever God has personally set up for you.  Ask Him to show you and open your eyes to see!  Don’t get bogged down in the fear of it. Look for His provision because it is already there. Isaiah 54:17 — “no weapon formed against you shall prosper” is not an afterthought.  It is solid forethought!

When Self-Image Takes a Hit

Kathy — When our self-image takes a hit, it is tempting to feel so fragmented that we stop functioning.  If we do, then condemnation seeps in and tries to “kill” our relationship with our Father and tries to “steal” our sense of worth and tries to destroy our self-government.  Condemnation is one of the most lethal weapons the devil uses because it carries a mixture of truth and lie that is particularly toxic.  Condemnation’s first punch is usually true, like “You know you messed up. You’re guilty.”   However, it’s second punch is a poisonous lie like, “There is no way out, no healing for a messed up self-image.  There is no way to redeem value that was lost and no restoration of broken boundaries.”  Those lies should make you want to spit, grab hold of the truth of who you are in Christ and march straight at the enemy with intent to overcome.

Dissipating Changlessness

As the people of God assemble today may all impression and/or delusion of sameness and changelessness dissipate like a mist in the face of the truths and reality of the Word of God—that Word which changes not but changes people and circumstances.
“I want a walk in the country, I want a cabin in the woods.  I’m desperate for a change from rage and stormy weather.” (Ps.55:8, Msg)

The Hand of the Lord Moving

May we see the hand of the Lord moving everywhere we look today. May we see His possibilities. May we consider the supremacy and viability of His Word in each situation and declare that supremacy and viability.

What does the Kingdom on Earth Look Like?

MELISSA—I heard this question asked recently, “What does the Kingdom of God manifest on earth look like?” The answer: YOU doing your part. Hey, the Kingdom is advancing without an end in sight. We can either watch it pass by, or we can jump in the middle of the motion.

Getting out of Bounds on a Shortcut

KATHY–The third thing the devil did was offer Jesus a way to get what He came after by getting out of bounds on a shortcut.  Satan offered to not oppose Him and give Him the kingdoms of this world (Rev. 11:15).  Jesus knew the kingdoms of the world were to be His, but He knew better than to worship Satan to get them.  Jesus was a mature son of strong character, and He was so intent upon obedience and self-government, that He couldn’t be tempted by success any other way.  Adam and Eve did fall for the temptation to get out of bounds and reach beyond the will of God.  Then, evidently, they did not truly repent because they passed on the “thinking of their heart” to the next generation.  Cain reached outside God’s boundaries with a sacrifice that wasn’t acceptable.  Then his self-worth plummeted and his self-government completely toppled when he murdered his brother.

Just as You Sent Me

In the Gospel of John17:18 Jesus was praying. He said, Holy Father, I am sending forth my disciples as You sent me, just as You sent me. You remember what Jesus did in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John? Everywhere He went, people were changed. Their circumstances were changed. Their lives were changed. People who were dying started living. People who were lame and crippled were suddenly made whole. People who were blind could see. People who were demonized and cutting their flesh and treating their bodies cruelly were suddenly at peace enjoying righteousness, peace and joy. Jesus prayed, “Father, as you sent Me, so send I my disciples—Just as you sent Me”.

No Weapon Formed

MELISSA—While thinking about recent events I had to deal with, the scripture Isaiah 54:17 “no weapon formed against you will prosper” came up again. This time, however, I saw it differently. I think a lot of times this is used as a defensive scripture when really it is an offensive scripture. God equips us for the weapon BEFORE, not after, it is formed against us. The reason the weapon doesn’t prosper is because He already set countermeasures in place prior to its launch. He already equipped you with everything necessary to walk out of this battle in tact. That, my friends, is an offensive scripture loaded for battle!

The Third Question

KATHY—The 3rd question God asked Adam was if he’d eaten of the tree.  God wasn’t looking for information of course.  He was helping Adam realize the point of origin of this earthquake that cracked his self-image and damaged his self-worth was when he defied the boundaries.  If anyone ever feels like God sets boundaries to demean or be unjust or cruel, they need some vitamin “G” as in “G”row up!  He sets boundaries wisely to set the stage for the truest expression of commitment, respect and honor in a lifetime.  It takes self-government [the practice of one governing one’s own life] to work within boundaries and that self-government develops maturity and character.  Character is a matter of righteous values and moral strength.  Character is essential to taste true fulfillment in your lifetime.  It will take character to keep you wherever purpose takes you.  I’ve known really gifted and skilled people who lost everything because they did not have the self-government and character to honor boundaries and protocol in relationships or career or finances or health.

Alert Expectancy

As the people of Father God assemble today may His people have a sense of the more that is to come of His purposes and His outpourings. May the hope of receiving and participating fill their hearts with expectancy.   “In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary–we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!” (Rom.5:5, Msg)

My King From of Old

“Yet God is my king from of old, Who works deeds of deliverance in the midst of the earth.”    (Ps.74:12, NASB)

Lose Plan B, Grab Plan A

MELISSA—This is the year to loose your grasp on plan B and take hold, with both hands, of plan A – His original intent for your life in this year. If your answer is hidden, ask God what the right question is in this moment. Ask Him what, in you, might be hindering the answer. Ask Him what you need to know today. He’s got plans for you, He is not into punishing you. His M.O. is all about forgiveness, redemption, relationship, and promotion all for His glory. Hey, if He tells you it’s simply about timing then it’s really that simple. His timing is perfect. Look at the birth and life of Samuel. Perseverance is key! It’s going to be an amazing year. Get ready for your answers.

Anger and Honesty

KATHY–How do we CHANGE and resolve anger?  The first step is HONESTY.   WARNING: our religious mindsets can set us up for defeat, if we believe that being angry is a sin.  If that is the case, the accuser of the brethren delights in keeping us on the witness stand, denying that we are angry.   He has an open and shut case against us and sues for damages.  Sometimes the suit lasts a lifetime!  But the Spirit of God lovingly bids us to get off the witness stand and calls us to the Judge’s chambers to admit the anger.  This might scare everyone in the courtroom, but it will not frighten the Judge. For in the honesty and truth of the Judge’s chambers change begins. Anger and Grief begin to let go of our emotions.

Take Hold of Plan A

MELISSA–This is the year to loose your grasp on plan B and take hold, with both hands, of plan A – His original intent for your life in this year.

The Way You Should Go

May the Lord give you the sensitivity you need for the present season you are in. May you be sensitive to where you need to be and when you need to be there and what you need to do when you get there. Ps.32:8,Amp–“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you [who are willing to learn] with My eye upon you.

Fixated on How it Will Happen

MELISSA—It came to me that to actually trust God meant to actually let go of needing to know the process of getting to an answer. I’ve never functioned like that. Unfortunately my M.O. has been to ask and believe for a God-outcome while all along fixating on my logic’s only conclusion as to how that could happen. That, my friends, will WEAR. YOU. OUT. In that moment it felt good, it felt right to let go, and something in me took a deep breath for the first time.

Broader Concept of Prayer

Kathy Gabler — While the most common understanding of prayer is an appeal or petition, I think The Lord’s Prayer illustrates a broader concept of prayer.  I see it as a prayer of alignment with God’s Word and will and character, or a declaration of agreement with God’s order and principles and intent.  If I viewed The Lord’s Prayer only as a petition, it would seem to be a formal format of how to properly ask for basic necessities.   While there is nothing wrong with that, I think there is more life in it and more relationship demonstrated in His model prayer.  This prayer takes on more dimension when it comes from a motive and priority to pray as sons/daughters who know and reflect their Father.

To Him Who Sits on the Throne

As the people of God assemble today may they consider Yeshua Whose name is above all names and Who is seated enthroned above all, and glorify Him as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. “But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”  7  “I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. 8 ‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, And the very ends of the earth as Your possession. (Ps.2:6-8, NASB)
