”Through faith we understand that the ages were framed (arranged, completed) by the word of God”(Heb.11:3). It would appear that God is not looking for people to attempt to “overcome the reluctance of God” but He is looking for those who will hear His heartbeat for the ages and get into alignment with that purpose. Then we would actually be praying God’s prayer requests, not our own.
Kathy — Unfortunately, people are used to their atmosphere being violated and manipulated by media which usually has the last say on the 6:00 or 10:00 news every night. So our culture has developed a tolerance for evil being called good and good being called evil and chaos being called the New World Order. This is both ludicrous and infuriating! The Word says NOT to CONFORM to this-age thinking. News: We don’t have to bow to the machinations of the prince of the power of the air. His dictatorship only continues if we keep adapting to the ways of the present age and keep “drinking the Kool-Aid” and allowing culture and norms to dictate our thinking. Instead, let’s agree that The Church will not just sit back in Sunday meetings and wait for the world to end. Sons of God will participate with Father in displacing and dispossessing darkness. We will overcome incrementally, one choice at a time, one prayer at a time, one victory at a time and see situations on earth become as in heaven in our nation.
Kathy — It can be difficult to remember there is a future when we’re dodging bullets and bombs and tornados and trying to remember social distancing in grocery stores and can’t think past getting through today, but it can be done. Jesus did it, “for the joy set before Him, He endured.” By example He taught us to remember the future OUTCOME to find strength to OVERCOME today.
As the people of God assemble today, may the Lord walk through walls of opposition, walls of impossibility, walls individuals have built between themselves and other members of the body of Christ. May He miraculously walk through every barrier into our midst today so that He might release in us and through us His peace, gifts and redemptive power.
“That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be with you,” he said.” (Jn.20:19, NLT)
As we have seen in Hag.1:5-9, Judah was set-up to cower under pressure. We can understand why they shrunk back. They had been captives for generations. We can live under hereditary curses and generational outlooks on life that “set us up” to suffer loss financially or physically or relationally simply because that is the only experience we have known. We can be programmed for defeat and have mindsets that keep us prisoner to the same beliefs, appetites, reactions and choices of prior generations. If that is the case, we are likely to spend our lives merely surviving, not winning, not increasing, not taking any spoils. If we examine our lives, we might discover that is why we survive instead of advance. Have we like Judah been conditioned by our experiences instead of the Truth?
