Trusting the Trustworthy

Trust is a principle that is not impossible to live.  It’s a choice.  The only things that stand in the way are experience and lies, both of which have to bow to the truth.  Sometimes we just have to start by giving up increments of concern to the faithfulness of God.  It really is okay to let go.  For some of us that is harder than it sounds, but the depth of breath experienced on the other side is extraordinary.  We are in a season of miracles, signs, and wonders.  Dare to be a part of that by trusting the Trustworthy.  “How blessed and greatly favored is the man who trusts You.” (Ps.84:12)  (This is the seventh excerpt from the article “Trustworthy” by Melissa Gabler in SEEC Magazine.)

Home: The Place of Agreement

Have you watched the news lately? There seem to be squabbles and disagreement at every level of government, between nations, races and economic strata. There must be a place where men and women, boys and girls can go and experience the opposite of the stress of such an atmosphere. May your home be a place of agreement, where squabbles and disagreement can’t find dwelling places. May it be the place of “where two or three are gathered in my Name” (Matt.18:20) becomes the place of “all things are possible” (Mk.9:23).  (Ps.128:3, GNB) “Your wife will be like a fruitful vine in your home, and your children will be like young olive trees around your table.”  We are praying you discover daily that your home is a place of productive agreement.  (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24 hours/day.) www.txpraise.com

Trust to Dwell

Trust keeps the door open to dwell in His presence.  We stay around those we trust.  Ps.84:11 “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord bestows grace and favor and honor; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” Trust is the gateway to God’s intentions for us, equipping, protection, grace, favor and all good things.  It makes sense that the summation of this Psalm is, “O Lord of hosts, How blessed and greatly favored is the man who trusts in You.” On top of being born to trust, these are compelling reasons to do so.  (This is the sixth excerpt from the article “Trustworthy” by Melissa Gabler in SEEC Magazine.)

Counsel and Wisdom

As the people of God assemble today, may they receive counsel from the Mighty Counselor as His Word is preached and as the people of God each release to the other, in their encouragement and conversation, that wisdom which is from the mind of God Almighty for the edification of His people.
”You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me to honor and glory.” (Ps.73:24, Amp)

God, Seasons and Order

The faithful God who set the seasons in undeniable order remains on His throne so that His order and purposes will be accomplished in the earth. As certainly as there is a summer that turns into fall and a fall that turns into winter there is One who sits above the machinations of unregenerate, self-serving men. People of faith will, therefore, align themselves with His order and contradict the disorder of faithlessness—step by step and day by day.  “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” (Gen.8:22, Amp)

Trust Finds Blessing

Blessing and favor follow those who trust.  Ps.84:6 “Passing through the Valley of Weeping (Baca), they make it a place of springs; The early rain also covers it with blessings.” Trust gets us through hard times so that we don’t make it our dwelling, and trust makes the hard times fruitful for not only us, but others.  Trust is not a selfish act.  Vs. 7 “They go from strength to strength [increasing in victorious power]; Each of them appears before God in Zion.”  Well, that’s a mouth full! Trust causes strength, and it removes the clouds of doubt so that we can see God.  Vs. 10 “For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]; I would rather stand [as a doorkeeper] at the threshold of the house of my God than to live [at ease] in the tents of wickedness.”  (This is the fourth excerpt from the article “Trustworthy” by Melissa Gabler in SEEC Magazine.)

The Lesser Government of Fear

Most everyone would admit, at some point, that they are fearful. Many things can drive the fears that deplete our hopes and expectancies. But, everything you fear operates on the authority of a government that is inferior to the government and King of the Kingdom of God. (Lk.2:11b, The Voice) “…He is the promised Anointed One, the Supreme Authority!”  (Matt.4:23b, Msg) “[Jesus]… taught people the truth of God. God’s kingdom was His theme—that beginning right now they were under God’s government, a good government!”  (Rom.13:1a, Msg) “All governments are under God.”  (Col.2:10, GNT) “and you have been given full life in union with Him. He is supreme over every spiritual ruler and authority.”  We are praying you discover daily that you are fearlessly living under the rule and authority of God Almighty.  (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24 hours/day.)

Trust is a Principle of the Kingdom

Trust is a principle of the Kingdom.  God knew what He was doing when He created it.  It’s life-bearing, abundant-life-bearing. How beautiful it is that the principles of God are set in place to provide the John 10:10 abundant life for all who live them.  He gave us a map for life.  Check this out, Psalm 84:12 (AMP) “O Lord of hosts, How blessed and greatly favored is the man who trusts in You [believing in You, relying on You, and committing himself to You with confident hope and expectation].” Yes, that is beautiful.  But check out the rest of Psalm 84. It literally lines out what a life looks like that trusts God. Vs. 4 “Blessed and greatly favored are those who dwell in Your house and Your presence; They will be singing Your praises all the day long. Selah.”

Month of May is for Counsel

The month of May is for counsel – for giving counsel and receiving counsel. Expect the Lord to set up situations for you to (1) receive counsel for living – for knowing what to do when no one else does, (2) counsel for relationships, (3) counsel for finances, (4) counsel for walking out your Kingdom purpose, (5) counsel for working through seemingly impossible circumstances. Expect the Lord to set up situations where you will be able to pass on to others what you have freely been given. ”The wise will hear and increase their learning, And the person of understanding will acquire wise counsel and the skill [to steer his course wisely and lead others to the truth],” (Prov.1:5, Amp)

One of our Worst Enemies

Some of us have confused trust with diligence.  By “diligence” I mean we handle, fixate on, and stay worried about a problem until it’s fixed.  That is nowhere in the definition of trust.  It’s not only the opposite of trust, but it is seething with dysfunction and disease.  A lack of trust is one of our worst enemies.  We might be blaming things on the devil that are really a lack of trust in our own lives.  I’m sure the devil doesn’t mind when we blame him for such things because it makes his job easier.

Miracle-working God Today

As the people of God assemble today, may they realize anew that the Lord God Jehovah, the Lord God Almighty, Elohim, He is this day, not just in the Old Testament, not just in the New Testament, but is this day, worldwide, the God of miracles. May they know without a doubt that not only is He the God of miracles of the faith healer but He is their God when they need a miracle and that opportunity is today.  ”You are famous because you worked miracles in Egypt, and you are still working them in Israel and in the rest of the world as well.” (Jer.32:20, CEV)

Defy Past Patterns

We should not be passive about patterns in our own life because of experience.  For example, Job said, (3:25)  “For what I fear comes upon me, And what I dread befalls me.”  Fear is being open for what could happen, and that is agreement that empowers it.  Experience can argue that your fears are always successful, but even if we cannot deny experience or past patterns, we can most certainly defy them and keep them from controlling the rest of our lives.–Kathy Gabler

Fixating on Logic’s Conclusion

It came to me that to actually trust God meant to actually let go of needing to know the process of getting to an answer. I’ve never functioned like that.  Unfortunately my M.O. has been to ask and believe for a God-outcome while all along fixating on my logic’s only conclusion as to how that could happen.  That, my friends, will wear. you. out.  In that moment it felt good, it felt right to let go, and something in me took a deep breath for the first time. (This is the second excerpt from the article “Trustworthy” by Melissa Gabler in SEEC Magazine.)

Why are we in This Present Mess?

“Why are we in this present mess and why is God allowing it?”  That is basically what Gideon was asking. “How soon they forget”.  Gideon was asking that question in Jud.6:13 but in verse one it plainly states, “The children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord…”.  Perhaps one reason humans let their “forgetter” work so efficiently is because we pretty much feel that we are not accountable for what we don’t remember. Yet, consequences still follow.  (2Cor.7:9b, Amp)  ”…your sorrow led to repentance [and you turned back to God]; for you felt a grief such as God meant you to feel, so that you might not suffer loss in anything…”  We are praying you discover daily that Holy Spirit is bringing things to your memory so you might not suffer loss in anything.  (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24 hours/day.) www.txpraise.com

Byproduct of a Believer

As of late my meditation topic has been Trust.  You know: “reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence.” (dictionary.com)  It should be a natural byproduct of being a believer. I thought so until God asked me if I trusted Him.  Of course… wait, do I?! That’s an answer I thought was sure at this point in my life.  The amazing thing is in that moment, trust made sense for the first time.  All of a sudden there was a relief in my core that I’m not sure I have ever felt.  Without Him saying a word, there was an understanding that actually trusting God meant to actually let go of needing to know the process of getting to an answer.  (This is the first excerpt from the article “Trustworthy” by Melissa Gabler in SEEC Magazine.)

No More Cheap Fix

A builder told me that at one time houses were built to last 50 years but now they are only built to last for 30. Many of us are trying to get things to last longer so that we don’t have to invest all over again. We don’t have to settle for just trying to make something work. You can only drive just so far on a used tire, no matter how good a deal it was. I suggest a new confession: No more stop-gap measures.  No more cheap fixes.  (Phil.4:19, The Voice)  “Know this: my God will also fill every need you have according to His glorious riches in Jesus the Anointed, our Liberating King.”  We are praying you discover daily that God is meeting your every need according to His riches in Jesus.

The God of Miracles

The Lord God Jehovah, the Lord God Almighty, Elohim, He is this day, not just in the Old Testament, not just in the New Testament, not just in moves in Europe hundreds of years ago, but is this day, worldwide, the God of miracles. Not only is He the God of miracles of the faith healer but He is the God of you when you need a miracle. You can take all of your needs, every one of them no matter how severe and you can pile them up in one pile and they will not even be a molehill compared to the power of your miracle-working God Who spoke worlds into existence, Who parted the Red Sea when a Hebrew stretched a stick over the waters. It was not the Hebrew who parted the waters, it was your miracle-working God. You can take all of the stresses of all of the complex personalities involved in your situation and you can put them in the pile and they won’t even be a speck compared to the power of your miracle-working God. The Lord your God would even note to you that you can stack up all of the stresses that are known this day in international news around the globe and they will still only be a speck compared to your all-wise, loving, beneficent, heavenly Father. So load me up today, says your God. Try me and see if I cannot fulfill my Word, for I can fulfill my Word. This is a day of reckoning for the powers of darkness and I would have my people call upon me to do great and mighty things that they have not yet seen me do. (Marty gave this word 4-23-17 at Grace International Church in Willis,TX)

Be Consoled

As the people of God assemble today, may they be consoled and assured of the compassion and promises of God being greater than obstacles that have attempted to deter them.  “…with everlasting love I have consoled you, says your redeemer, the Lord.” (Isa.54:8b, CEB)

A Sense of Belonging

People need to have a sense of belonging. They need an environment where they feel loved and accepted. We each have the opportunity to work at making such a valuable environment that is a steady constant in the lives of our loved ones. May your home be a place of affirmation where loving and encouraging words are spoken and where loving acts are given and received. May there be many hugs and kisses and may the warmth of being received as valuable fill your being. May you be a caring person and may you have caring persons in your life to support your purpose.   (2Sam.6:20a, CEV) “David went home so he could ask the Lord to bless his family…” We are praying you discover daily that you have a safe, loving environment to flourish in.  (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24 hours/day.) www.txpraise.com

Overlook or Confront?

Do we overlook destructive behavior and negative emotional patterns that may sabotage a loved one or confront them?  There is no pat answer.  The place to start is prayer.  One prayer I have seen God answer many times is, “Lord, please change them or change me so your peace can cover this relationship.”  We can trust His wisdom and His faithfulness to address the problems in wise timing.  What we cannot do with behavior or personality issues is fight fire with fire.  Fighting negative behavior with negative behavior is using a carnal weapon that does not pull down strongholds.  Nor will any good fruit come from confronting others out of frustration rather than love.  While we should not presume to confront without God’s instruction, neither should we be too cowardly to talk it out if He so directs.  We can be confident that the place to start is prayer.  Then we follow God’s instructions and timing to a God-outcome of healthy and meaningful and fulfilling relationships.

Power of God Demonstrated

May your heart be filled with desire and expectancy to show forth the power of God as well as His words and principles of truth, doctrine and theology. May the naysayers that oppose and argue against the Spirit of Christ be speechless as they hear of and witness the powerful Word of God in action as lives are redeemed, bodies healed and signs and wonders loosed that point back to Jesus the risen Christ.  (1Cor.2:4-5, KJV)  “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:  5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” We are praying you discover daily the power of God is demonstrated through your life.

The Fog of Moods

If we get lost in the fog of “moods,” the most dangerous thing we can do is justify our fears and angers or justify our right to keep them. Choosing life requires that we walk the opposite direction so that we do not become emotionally crippled.  The emotionally crippled person needs a crutch.  Just as the alcoholic finds relief in alcohol and the addict finds release in drugs, the “moody” feed on feelings while their negative emotions and behavior patterns continue to draw more fire.
