Discernment

KATHY—There are five different words translated “discern or discernment” in the Old Testament. Their meanings include “to scrutinize or look intently at so as to recognize what is going on, an experienced gaze, to hear intelligently, to separate mentally (or distinguish), to be cunning, to diligently direct, to feel, to know by seeing, to perceive or to discover.”  Discernment by dictionary definition means to separate or distinguish, to see or understand the difference or to make a distinction.  In 1 Cor 12, another dimension is added to the meaning of discernment.  In this setting, discernment means “to judge the purity of something, as in to detect any mixture in its source or motive.”  When discernment comes as a gift from God, as in I Cor 12:10, it is God enabling us to separate or distinguish the difference between the human soul and the supernatural at work.  This discernment gift includes understanding the mental disposition of someone.  It also enables us to see the distinct differences between the Holy Spirit and angels or demons at work in a situation.  Discernment, whether it is a keenness developed through experience or a gift of the Spirit of God, is an awesome weapon that is both a beneficial and essential resource for the days ahead.

Heavy Laboring Cease

As the people of God assemble today, may their heavy laboring cease and may stacked-up circumstances fall to the ground as they receive good things from their merciful God Who covers them.
“For the Lord God is a sun and a safe-covering. The Lord gives favor and honor. He holds back nothing good from those who walk in the way that is right.” (Ps.84:11, NLV)

Goliath vs. God’s Purpose

Marty—When a Goliath-sized obstacle rears its head and begins to proclaim to us all the many pieces it is going to rip us into, rather than trying to remember if our insurance premiums are paid, we should try to remember God’s Word over our life. Rather than predicting the picture of desolation this “monster” will leave us the subject of, we best begin to proclaim the purposes and prophecies of God for us and our seed. Heb.10:23,Amp—“Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful [to His Word];”

Thoughts on Prayer

MELISSA–Here are some thoughts on prayer during times of war, such as we are dealing with at this time.  In Matthew 6:7 Jesus gives insight on prayer, “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.”  Vain repetitions here means: “To chatter, be long-winded, utter empty words, stammer, repeat”.  In times like these there is a tendency to just rattle off every fear and concern we have.  Jesus gave good advice here as he explained in verse 8, “Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.”  We need to come to God prepared to hear an answer and not just to throw up our worries all over Him.  This really came to life for me recently when I had just had one of those days where my concern list got filled up.  That evening I sat down to be quiet and listen when, all of a sudden, I was standing in this beautiful garden.  The trees caught my attention because they seemed lively and animated.  As I was taking in their beauty they all turned in one direction and I realized they were responding to the Lord walking through the garden.  I saw Him walking toward me when this thought hit me, “He knows”. In that moment I literally felt my shoulders and body relax.  I knew He knew about all of those things on my list.  Not only did He know, He already had an answer for each of them and my part was to simply trust.  As we navigate this time of war we don’t have to rattle off our fears to God.  He knows not only what’s manifesting but what is behind each manifestation.

Contradictions Bursting Into our Lives

KATHY—Wisdom would have us at least take note of contradictions that burst into our lives to discover or discern if they are a wake-up call from the Holy Spirit.  We must live ready to believe in God more than our beliefs if there is a show-down between the two.  I believe there will be such show-downs coming in the remainder of this decade because the Kingdom, like leaven, is spreading in the earth.  God is moving forward in the already written history of His people, building His church and maturing His sons.  When these confrontations come, we have three major resources to set and confirm our course: the Word, godly counsel and discernment.

Something Said by Others

MARTY—There are people who stopped taking medicine or started taking a medicine because an individual, who had no medical training, said they should and the result was disastrous. There are people who have brought someone into their life or expulsed someone from their life because an individual said they should and the result was disastrous. There are people who have invested in something an individual told them to invest in and the result was disastrous. We should be very wise in deciding whether to live by something said by others and decide the correctness of it by the truths evident in the Bible.  ”…the counsel of the wicked and ungodly is far from me.” (Job 22:18, Amp)

Asking the Right Questions

Melissa Gabler—The last couple of years were a time of getting the tools needed for the tool belt.  It was a time of starting to ask the wise, right questions instead of the fear-driven questions.  A fear-driven question already has an answer in mind and can’t hear anything but that.  A wise question is open to hear truth.  Asking those wise questions in the past always got an answer.  A lot of answers were personal things that needed to be dealt with in me.  This even led me to go on a fear fast (that has not ended!).

Conflict and Personal Beliefs

KATHY—Does God ever send us a word that conflicts with our personal beliefs?  Yes.  It’s not that God is out to upset our apple cart.  It is that He loves us too much to let us continue finding security in our beliefs that are tainted by error, warped by experience or hindered by misunderstanding.  These things will leave us at dead ends, frustrated and unfulfilled at some point in our destiny, and He loves us too much to simply allow that. But when our compassionate Father confronts those carefully guarded systems, we have three major resources to set and confirm our course: the Word, godly counsel and discernment.

Ears Hear the Word

MPG—As the people of God assemble today, may their ears hear the Word of the Lord and may their hearts receive that Word so that it may work life in them, so that they might effectively speak it to the ears and hearts of those they are appointed to this week.  Eze 3:10  “Moreover, He said to me, Son of man, all My words that I shall speak to you, receive in your heart and hear with your ears. v.11  And go, get you to the [Jewish] captives [in Babylon], to the children of your people, and speak to them and tell them, Thus says the Lord God…”

Turning to Truth

May there arise within the heart of America a dissatisfaction and weariness with unrighteousness and ungodliness and may there be a turning to the truths of God’s Word, the Bible.  “Uprightness and right standing with God (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation) elevate a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Prov.14:34, Amp)

Old Wickedness Vs. God

MELISSA GABLER—Is this the end? It is for some very old wickedness.  It has mocked God and is getting crushed to oblivion.  We have to remember this when the battle is this intense.  Hey, if those who have sown to the flesh are reaping destruction, then the other side of that coin is heaven on earth! “But the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in.” (Gal. 6:8-9 AMP) Don’t push this promise off to someday when you die. God’s original intent is for us to be heaven-on-earth during our lifetime. Heaven is invading earth right now.  This harvest is here for both sides of this coin! While the corrupt are meeting their corruption the just are receiving their promises. This is a beautiful time to be alive.  We get to see the justice and goodness of a God that will never be mocked.  You can be assured of that!  Angels, attend to the harvest!

The Ever-Unstoppable

Kathy Gabler—I can’t help but think that there has to be a greater degree of the will of God activated in this current generation than any previous just because the Kingdom is ever-increasing (Isa. 9:7).  An increase in the intensity and extremes of evil do not change that truth, in fact they testify to darkness getting more obvious because of the Light.  When we consider the hugeness of matters such as the Kingdom coming and God’s will being done in the earth and the ever unstoppable, increasing government of God, we may be tempted to step back and think that all sounds out of reach for little ole me. Yet, if a tiny glimpse of what God wants to do in the life of a cashier in Walmart or a piece of understanding concerning God’s will about the President of the United States brings me to a prayer of agreement, that moment is a touch-point between heaven and earth.

Hand of God

The hand of God is moving. Recently, as I was praying about all the predictions, estimations and concerns coming in over the internet I had a vision of a hand moving and very active. It was moving people from one location to another. It was moving money and buildings and equipment here and there. As I watched this busy hand I realized that a veil was beginning to form between the busy hand and myself. Finally I could not see anything the hand was doing. The Lord spoke to my heart that the reason so many of His people are losing heart is because their fears and despair have formed a curtain between them and what His hand is doing. His hand is still moving and working but we can’t see it because of what we have allowed in the forefront of our thoughts and considerations.

A Personal For-Instance

MELISSA—Here’s how God started breaking down a personal matter for me.  I’m going to give a very recent and personal “for instance”.  I’ve been dealing with a physical matter, not life or death, but an irritating battle that has almost caused a lock down due to the “WHAT IF this gets worse” record playing in my head… on repeat.  It’s that kind of battle that sent my emotions from one side of the spectrum to another.  After all, I’m not the only person to have dealt with this issue.  There are plenty of others living with it.  BUT I don’t see why I HAVE to live with it. So, I have been seeking God on the matter, and He has so beautifully and faithfully been giving me revelation regarding my healing all along this journey.   Throughout this journey I have known in my core that this physical issue is a done-deal.  In fact, at the beginning of this year I heard someone say that this is going to be a year of reversal! WELL, COME ON NOW (go ahead and take that for you and yours right now!).  Just another confirmation that not only am I being healed, but this thing is going to be reversed!

OUR SECURITY

KATHY — Our security is not in having many absolutes to protect us, but in knowing Him who is absolute wisdom. Principles hold true, but they get put in priority order by the wisdom of God in every situation. Traditions can have us believing in our beliefs more than we believe in Him, and at that point His Word and counsel have no power or effect in us or for us. Our beliefs are not holy, He is. Therefore, let us give respect and follow through to the gates our holy and wise God builds specifically to get us to the fullest future He desires.

Thoughts of Freedom in Christ

As the people of God assemble today may their thoughts, their hearts and their actions be about freedom and liberty in Christ. May they rejoice in the freedom He has given them and may they impart that freedom to others through their love, compassion, words and actions.“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has chosen me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed” (Lk.4:18, GNT)

Not Governed by Physical Circumstances

There are things happening in the spirit realm that are governed by the throne of God. They are not governed by physical circumstances, not governed by politicians nor parliaments (Ps.2:4). God is in charge but that does not mean that we are to just sit back and take everything that comes along and say, “Well, that must be what is supposed to happen to our wicked nation now.” We sometimes get so caught up with current events and possibilities and what seems like is the inevitable that we tend to forget about God and His mandate upon our lives (Ps.71:6; Isa.14:24; 51:1). What God is doing in the spirit realm is having an effect in this earth. He is not finished with earth, with this nation nor with us so there is still a great need to get into alignment with the purposes of God in His ever-expanding Kingdom.

SPEAKING OF FREEDOM

KATHY—Speaking of FREEDOM…   John 8:32  “You will know the truth, and THE TRUTH WILL MAKE YOU FREE.”  We need truth that sets us free to be, free to be what we were born to be so that our lives glorify our God.  We must come to freedom that gets us past some old limitations, dead ends and road blocks and cycles in our lives.

KEEP STANDING IN FREEDOM

If it were not possible to keep standing in freedom, our Lord would not have commanded us in His Word to do just that. He does not want us to be captive to any degree of slavery. We have been set free to enjoy freedom within the auspices of His character and redemptive purposes. Living our lives under the wisdom and direction of the Word of God leads us in the liberty of sons/daughters who know their Father desires nothing less than the richness of that purchased freedom. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ Who has brought us to liberty that we may glorify Him who purchased it.  ”Plant your feet firmly therefore within the freedom that Christ has won for us, and do not let yourselves be caught again in the shackles of slavery.” (Gal.5:1, Phillips)

Bolster the Prophetic Lifstyle

Melissa — How do we bolster the Prophetic Lifestyle? 1. Acknowledge there is an unseen realm and you were made for this because the One Who created you built the capacity in you for this lifestyle. 2. pray in tongues – Ephesians 3:16—“May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality].”  Praying in tongues strengthens your inner self/spirit so that you can decipher and see the unseen. 1 Corinthians 14:4a—“One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself.”  It takes edifying ourselves, by building up our spirit, to keep human nature from taking the driver’s seat. Here is the current relevance for this line of thought. In this year, we are currently dealing with the epic fail of human nature/soul in our nation.  The chaos is being fueled and driven by the unseen realm and human nature is completely ignorant of it. This current status tells me we are at the climax of a lifetime.  I’m not speaking of the return of Christ, I’m talking about the Bride of Christ becoming what God planned for her to be. God’s original intent is in effect. It takes an acquaintance with the unseen to know that and to be a part of it.

God and Gates

KATHY — Sometimes a gate God builds is not a welcomed sight.  It looks like a risk to us or a scary unknown.  We feel like we have the option to decide to just stay safely within our fence and familiar boundaries. The problem is that if we ignore the gates, we are locking ourselves into tradition just like the Pharisees.  We rarely see ourselves as Pharisees, but we too build personal traditions of men through the way we personally process instruction or the way we establish our own priorities or the way we come to our personal conclusions.  Our thought processes and priorities and conclusions are filters that can literally keep us from hearing what God is saying and thereby keep us refusing to acknowledge the Holy Spirit’s direction in our daily life.  So, “you make the word of God of none effect through your tradition, (KJV).  And you ignore God’s commands in order to follow your own teaching. “(CEV) Mark 7:13

What Yahweh Will Perform

As the people of God assemble today may they be looking around, not to see who is in attendance or who is absent but to see what wondrous act Yahweh will perform next in someone’s spirit or someone’s body or someone’s soul. “Now watch as the Lord does great miracles.” (1Sam.12:16, TLB)
