Relationships That Build You Up

Marty Gabler—This year may you find and keep the kind of relationships that build you up and don’t tear you down.   “For I am not ashamed, even if I have boasted somewhat too much about the authority that the Lord has given us—authority to build you up, not to tear you down.” (2Cor.10:8, GNB)

Gifts Received, Gifts Given

As the people of God assemble today, may they be thankful for the gifts they were able to give to celebrate Christmas and thankful for the gifts they received. But may we also acknowledge the gifts our Lord has given us and use them to edify others in the purpose for which He gave them.  ”Each one has been blessed with one of God’s many wonderful gifts to be used in the service of others. So let us use our gift well and often. 1Pe.4:10,CEV—“Just as each one of you has received a special gift [a spiritual talent, an ability graciously given by God], employ it in serving one another as [is appropriate for] good stewards of God’s multi-faceted grace [faithfully using the diverse, varied gifts and abilities granted to Christians by God’s unmerited favor].”

Glorify and Edify

Free Church HugAs the people of God assemble today may they glorify Yahweh and may they edify the saints. May they speak words to one another that encourage and bear fruit. May praises and encouragements be overheard by the little ones so that they, in turn, speak to their peers words that encourage them to be Kingdom achievers by the grace of Almighty God. Heb.10:24-25,Amp—“And let us consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble activities,  25 Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.”

You Can Edify Others

This is the day the Lord has made so…  I will rejoice and be glad that the Holy Spirit enables me to edify others in it! 1Thess.5:11 says “So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it.” It is possible to turn someone’s day completely around. It is even possible to turn someone’s life completely around with just a few encouraging words inspired by the Holy Spirit. Edify means “to restore by building, to rebuild, repair, establish, to promote growth in Christian wisdom, affection, grace, virtue, holiness, blessedness.”  We are praying you discover daily that you are edifying others so they may realize their value in helping others.

Jesus Builds and Empowers

Kathy—The operations of traditional church simply don’t carry the power or impact that God intended for His Ekklesia/Church.  I am not suggesting that we strain or strive to not be traditional but that we yield ourselves to Jesus as He builds His Church/Ekklesia.  His building process is more than simply adding to its numbers.  Build also means “edify, mature and develop”.  So before we get determined and get a hernia trying to be the Ekklesia, or before we get zealous and start calling fire down out of heaven, or before we almost drown trying to walk on water, let’s remember it is Jesus that builds and empowers us as His Church.

In This Year Less is More

Less is more. Simple is wise. This year we have entered into is a great year to allow Holy Spirit to give weight to our words to help and edify people who are desperately looking for solace and solutions. We are going to find that the simplest things the Lord inspires us to say to someone are going to be the most powerful. You are the bearer of His Spirit, of His Living Word. Those words will be of the Lord and they will impact that person or persons and then they will walk away from us carrying something they did not have before we spoke the simple truth of God’s Word and God’s heart. Prayers and declarations do not have to be complicated. Just get out in the moment what needs to get into the atmosphere.  ”What I tell you in darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear, proclaim on the housetops.” (Matt.10:27)

Building Process

Kathy — The operations of traditional church simply don’t carry the power or impact that God intended for His Ekklesia/Church. I am not suggesting that we strain or strive to not be traditional but that we yield ourselves to
Jesus as He builds His Church/Ekklesia. His building process is more than simply adding to its numbers. Build also means “edify, mature and develop” So before we get determined and get a hernia trying to be the Ekklesia, or before we get zealous and start calling fire down out of heaven, or before we almost drown trying to walk on water, let’s remember it is Jesus that builds and empowers us as His Church.

Building up for the Future

As the people of God assemble today, may they build one another up in hope as they look to the future with expectancy for the purposes of God Almighty to be fulfilled in their lives and in their church family.  ”So then, let us pursue [with enthusiasm] the things which make for peace and the building up of one another [things which lead to spiritual growth].” (Rom.14:19, Amp)

Edify One Another

As the people of God assemble today, may they report to one another and encourage one another with dreams, visions and prophetic confirmations that inspire each one to move forward in faith and hope to the horizons Almighty God has as He manifests His sons/daughters as salve and solution to the groaning of creation.  (1Thess.5:11, NKJV) ”Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.”

Going Out Among Them

No doubt some of the distressed, heart-broken and captives will be ministered to as we gather for worship for that is when “God sits down among his people” (Ps. 22:3).  And you can count on the fact that when God Sits down among his people something will happen!  But most of those who will be ministered to by this fellowship of believers will first be ministered to by those of us who come to worship, receive encouragement from the Word, are edified and then go out among them and allow what God has done in our lives to touch their lives.

Edifying and Manifesting

As the people of God assemble today, may they report to one another and encourage one another with dreams, visions and prophetic confirmations that inspire each one to move forward in faith and hope to the horizons Almighty God has as He manifests His sons/daughters as salve and solution to the groaning of creation.  (1Thess.5:11, NKJV) ”Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.”
