A Deposit of Wisdom

(Kathy Gabler)—Coming into the new year we would be wise to make decisions based in the Word of God, the wisdom of God. If we go to God for a deposit of His peace and wisdom, we can make a choice that contradicts our feelings.  That doesn’t mean you are giving up strategy and resolve, it means you’re just choosing not to stay UPSET while it comes.  To stay upset is to CHOOSE death because your body will suffer, relationships will suffer and “emotional reactions” will become KING in the house and set an atmosphere that draws more upset.

Taking Ground

StandwithswordIf marriage statistics are stalking yours or if your finances are boiling down to coins in a can or if you have been hit with an undeniable diagnosis, lift your head and CHOOSE LIFE, no matter how difficult it is because the Word says: it is not too difficult for you, (Deut 30:11), it isn’t too much for you, it’s not out of your reach.  The word is very near you, in your mouth, in your mind and in your heart.  You can do this.  Deut 30:20 says to CHOOSE LIFE by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice and by holding fast to Him.  That same verse tells us why, so that we and our descendants may live long in the land which we possess.  Choosing life is taking ground.  We take acreage out of every cocoon of circumstances that we overcome.  We gather real-estate that becomes inheritance for at least four generations as well as inspiration for all those that feel the ripple of our life!

Choice and Resolve

Choices
We can have strong muscles like abs, quads and biceps, but the biggest muscle we need is trust in our God.  We use the trust muscle every time we choose life.  When Job said, “Though He slay me, yet I’ll trust Him,” he wasn’t accusing God of being behind all His suffering.  He was saying, “Even if God were trying to kill me,  I would still choose to trust Him!” That is CHOOSING  LIFE.  Job’s choice broke through the cocoon he was in (which were extremely overwhelming, tough circumstances) and his choice brought him to resolve and restoration.

Continuing to Choose Life

Chooselife(By Kathy G.) Some cocoons (entrapped, tough times in life) are common for many people, but we also have our customized cocoons, those tough times that are unique to us.  These come from matters that need resolve in our soul, like you may be having to work on a relationship that was damaged by jealousy or fear or anger.  Or you may be having to deal with problems you inherited, ongoing battles from choices made four generations ago.  Perhaps your forerunners  didn’t choose life and blessings and it caused  them to end up with a view of marriage that’s bound to fail.  So the next generation has to work through the trickle-down issues of divorce.  Or a generation made wrong career choices and bankrupted the whole family causing  poverty  conditions and limitations for decades.  Or a generation chose death and curses, deciding to be lawless, and the ripple effect undermined character to the point that a family or community or culture is cocooned in corruption. Can our struggles really be related to our purpose and our future when we can’t see any connection to either? We need to CHOOSE LIFE and bring CHANGE in our lifetime, and even expect change to ripple back to the previous generation.

Upset Not Rule

When you CHOOSE LIFE you are choosing what you will agree with.  Your agreement is what opens doors in your life and the cocoon.  Your agreement aligns you with either a God-outcome or the plans of self or plans of others, or the plans of Hell . . . or possibly some combination of the last three!  For dv1954035example, if you’re caught up in an emotional web and surrounded by hurt feelings or offense or disappointment or despair, your soul is likely to choose to wallow in “UPSET.”  That choice is agreeing with current conditions, but your spirit calls for a vote, knowing nothing good comes out of coddling and rehearsing UPSET. There’s no ground taken by staying UPSET.  Let’s put it in graphic terms.  When your stomach gets UPSET, you throw up.  There’s no need to save the VOMIT.  Choose to FLUSH it and move on, thereby agreeing that you are not staying a prisoner of the UPSET.  Why do people ever choose to stay in the chaos of UPSET?   Most often, it is because they don’t feel or believe they can help it and they have no awareness that there is a choice to react differently.  Sometimes people get in a habit of staying upset because it brings attention or pity.  Others stay upset as a campaign for justice or vengeance. We can, however, train ourselves to use the weapon  called CHOICE and practice until we are skilled enough to choose not to allow UPSET to rule our lives.
