You are a Placeholder
In your daily faithfulness to God, you might just be a placeholder for someone else. You may be standing between someone and their destruction and, were you not there, they might just move into that thing or that relationship or that distress that prevents their getting to destiny. Moses was a placeholder for Joshua. Elijah was a placeholder for Elisha and Paul was a placeholder for Timothy. It is like being the shoulders that someone else gets to stand on and start out on. Our ceiling is their floor. You are a placeholder for your children and very possibly even for others. 1Cor.16:13 ”Be alert, stand firm in the faith, be brave, be strong.” We are praying you discover daily that you are standing firm in the faith so that others may stand in their place of purpose. It’s Your Choice
(Melissa G.) Could Arthritis – Heart Disease – Osteoporosis – Alzheimer’s – Diabetes – Cataracts – etc. come from: bitterness, unforgiveness, stress, hatred, an orphan spirit, self-hatred, fear of abandonment, anger, rage, resentment, envy, double mindedness, doubt and unbelief, oppression, heaviness, fear of rejection, rebellion, guilt , etc.? Another side note regarding family genetics. Genetics are not a definite. You are simply pre-disposed to them. It’s your choice whether it becomes a part of your identity or not. (Dr. Caroline Leaf) These things just might be the root of what we are dealing with rather than just an unlucky recipient of the after effects of free radicals, or bad blood. Also, let me say this right here, the devil can only play with what’s already at play.

Mutual Care for one Another
As the people of God assemble today may there be people who discover that the people of God care about them and what they are going through. May there be assurances that each is standing with the other to get to the other side of the lake in spite of the storm.
“So that there should be no division or discord or lack of adaptation [of the parts of the body to each other], but the members all alike should have a mutual interest in and care for one another.” (1Cor.12:25, Amp)

Power in the Name of Jesus
In the next few days and weeks I believe you will find the name of Jesus to be very powerful in your life and your environment — if you will call upon His name, “Jesus”, see Him heal, watch as He delivers others out of impossible strongholds of bondage and fear. Say His name and see how marvelously He delivers you from the threat of harm, even from bullies. The children’s ministers at our church have taught them to say, “The name of Jesus is my super power”. In Acts 3:16 Peter declared: ”And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man…” (Acts 3:16, Amp) We are praying you discover daily more of the power of the name of Jesus in your life. Get rid of the Fear

(Melissa G.) Side note regarding age: Could age related disease and dysfunction be the product of issues that are not dealt with, therefore we have allowed them to become a part of our life (through fearful agreement) to the point that they manifest? If we don’t get rid of the fear, we are in agreement with it!

God’s Goodness Where we Live
Ps.33:5 informs us “the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.” The earth IS full of the
goodness of the LORD, so it IS possible for each of us to discover His works, His truth and His goodness where we live and move about, and it is possible to join with it in spreading it, being instruments of it, giving opportunity for the LORD’s goodness to impact our environment. “For the Word of the Lord is right; and all His works are done in truth. He loveth righteousness and judgment; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.” (Ps.33:4-5, KJV) You and I are the instruments of the goodness of the Lord in the earth today. We are praying you discover daily God’s goodness in and through your life.

TO VOTE OR NOT TO VOTE
by Jim Hodges
According to some recent research by George Barna, fewer evangelicals will vote in this presidential election than in 2012. Many citizens, including Christians, are disgruntled with the two candidates seeking the highest office in the land. Christians especially feel let down since there were several candidates running this election cycle who shared their values (for example: Huckabee, Walker, Carson, Cruz, Fiorina). The projection is many Christians will sit this one out and stay home on November 8.
With respect to those who claim that voting this time would be a violation of their conscience, I offer a perspective for their consideration. First of all, in most elections, our choice is to select the “lesser of two evils.” There are no perfect candidates. It seems there are few if any candidates in both political parties who put America first and their careers second.
Let me share a scenario which may help us in deciding to vote or not. If you could remove the two candidates who are seeking the presidency and not replace them with any new candidates, you would then have only thing to vote for, i.e., the platform of both the Republicans and the Democrats. Which one would you prefer? To me, the answer is clear! If you do not want to vote for the person, vote the platform.
If you have not read it yet, I strongly recommend going to www.dutchsheets.org and reading his article, “What Should Christians Consider When Deciding Whom To Vote For?”
In Philippians 3:20, the apostle writes: “For our citizenship is in heaven… .” Paul was a citizen of heaven and a citizen of Rome. Both gave him rights and responsibilities. Our citizenship in heaven in no way dismisses us from our responsibilities as citizens of our beloved nation. The word, citizenship, can be translated as “commonwealth” or “colony.” The root word in the original language is polis. The full word is polituma. The rudimentary application of this verse is: Heaven has policies and earth’s policies should align with them! Followers of Christ are called to “colonize” the earth with the policies of the Kingdom of God.

Fear Deep in Subconscious
(Melissa G.) I’m going to break it down into some real life situations so you can see just how this DDF (Due Diligence Fear) sneaks in. Here are some examples:
– “This is EXPECTED in this situation, this has to happen… it’s just life!”
– AGE RELATED ISSUES/DISEASE: by “this age ___” you can expect “this” to go wrong.
– FAMILY GENETICS: This disease is in our bloodline.
Breaking it down even more. Due Diligence Fear says:
– “It’s too good to be true” it’s better to err on the side of expecting nothing good to happen so that I won’t be disappointed when it never does.
DON’T LOOK AT IT – YOU’LL SPOOK IT!!! (please tell me I’m not the only one who has thought
this?!)
– “WHAT IF” this particular fear seems to keep you from getting hurt or dying. I may as well act as IF this thing could happen so I can prevent it from happening. This one’s a real stinker!
DDF happens when something touches a fear buried in our subconscious, a fear never dealt with that lies dormant in the dark. Once that fear is stimulated it prompts the DDF mode to try and keep that fear from manifesting. It feels like something I MUST DO to survive!
One of the biggest issues with this kind of fear is thinking it is wisdom. We must see the difference between wisdom and fear, and how do we do that? By first, and foremost, understanding GOD DOES NOT GIVE US THINGS TO FEAR! We must learn to realize that the issue is fear, and stop concentrating on what the fear is about.

Things not Seen
1Cor.2:9—“But as it is written, ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’” (NKJV) This is not God hitting us over the head saying, “You haven’t seen or heard things, so here is a whack to show my displeasure.” Rather, this is God saying, “There are things that I want you to see and things I want you to hear.” This is a scripture that is meant to instill in us a desire for the things we haven’t seen and haven’t heard concerning the enabling graces of our beneficent Father. May you discover daily God’s truths that you have not discovered in the past. (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24 hours/day.)

Due Diligence Fear
(Melissa G.) Now that we have Plan A figured out, let’s talk about Plan B. Plan B is anything that does not fit in God’s original intent for you, 2016, and beyond. There are multiple components of plan B, but I am only going to address one of them right now. This particular component is no where near God’s original intent for us: Due Diligence Fear (DDF). Due Diligence in a broad sense refers to the level of judgment, care, prudence, determination, and activity that a person would reasonably be expected to do under particular circumstances. (uslegal.com) Due Diligence Fear [DDF] (my definition): is the level of judgment, care, prudence, determination, and activity that a person puts into particular circumstances in their life based off of fear and not wisdom or God’s provision. It actually feels safer to live with this fear than to rely on what God said about the situation. It feels like something I MUST do to survive. It feels like the wise choice.

Walking Forward With Confidence
As the people of God assemble today, may they worship and dwell upon the Word of God Most High so that they find their strength in Him and so that they may walk forward into the coming week with confidence that what God has started, He will bring to completion.
“The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet And makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility].” (Hab.3:19, Amp)

Duty to Country as Duty to God
“The Church must take right ground in regard to politics… The time has come that Christians must vote for honest men, and take consistent ground in politics,… or the country will be ruined. God cannot sustain this free and blessed country, which we love and pray for, unless the Church will take right ground. Politics are a part of a religion in such a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to the country as a part of their duty to God… He will bless or curse this nation, according to the course they [Christians] take [in politics].” (“Lectures on Revival”, Charles Finney, 1835)

What is Plan A?
(Melissa G.) It’s about time for some good news, and here it is: we are heirs of Plan A! What is Plan A? Plan A is God’s original intent for you personally that is absolutely connected to His original intent for 2016 and beyond. And what is God’s ORIGINAL INTENT? “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]”. (John 10:10, Amp) Abundant life is about His original intent of bringing Heaven to earth through our living what Jesus made accessible. Here’s the even better news, Plan A was NEVER aborted. It is still active and accessible!

Father’s Original Intent
(Kathy G.) The toughest wilderness experience on record for me stretched out over five years of confusion and anger and ulcers. Before our daughter Melissa was born, I had prayed two specific things, that she would never have asthma or kidney trouble because both were bloodline issues. By the time she was eighteen months old, we were in Texas Children’s Hospital Houston because she’d had a bronchial asthmatic attack due to a severe kidney infection. After two weeks in two hospitals, we were facing kidney surgery.
Each night after I’d get her to sleep, I’d look out that tenth floor window. There were lights and noises and people filling the city, but I had never felt so alone. Marty was in Missouri in seminary and for the first time since I was nine, God was not there for me. I couldn’t figure out why He had abandoned me. I wanted to scream what David prayed in Psa 83:1, “God be not silent and be not still”, but I just stood there, hurting, angry and confused.
The day before surgery I sat on the twenty-third floor waiting for Melissa to come out of nuclear X-ray when a sudden headache hit me between the eyes. I barely got her back to the room in time to throw up my toenails. I then laid down on the cot by her bed and closed my eyes. I felt a little hand on my head and heard a little voice say, “Jesus, heal my momma.” As her hand lifted, the headache left. I should have been grateful but that made me angrier.
My identity was gone because I felt abandoned, orphaned. My self-worth was shattered because there was no backing, no affirmation, no inheritance of healing within reach. I was disappointed enough to be angry and disregarded boundaries and self-government to be rebellious. Why follow the rules when you are no longer even in the game? My silent reaction to the sudden relief from the headache was far from grateful. Jaw locked, I demanded, “Why would You answer her prayer but not mine?”
It took five years for me to hear and acknowledge Father’s response to my question. “Kathy, Melissa prayed in faith, but you prayed in fear. You can’t take that fear where you are going. I had to let you confront and defeat what threatened you.” The thing most important to me was what God could do but didn’t. The most important thing to Him was His Original Intent for our lives. If that fear remained, it would cause road blocks to where both Melissa and I were born to go. Fear would be a contradiction to both our assignments. I was intent upon surviving the experience. Father was intent upon bringing us to glory. If we focus on self, glory is a problem. If we focus on Father, glory is a certainty.
Our Father’s Original Intent is Relationship with Mature Sons that reflect the image of Christ as they fulfill their life assignment and thereby share His Glory in their generation. Please be encouraged. Our faithful and patient Father will keep working with us and through us until we get this!

Leadership and Love for Family
Everywhere people gather, eventually discussion will get around to talking about family and the difficulties of relationships. I remember hearing about a man who attended a seminar and upon arriving told someone that he had come there to learn how to manage his family. One of the older leaders responded saying, “Don’t try to manage your family; learn to love and serve them, then leadership in the family will come as a by-product of the loving and serving.” It has been said that the biggest favor fathers can do their children is to love their mother.
(Eph.5:25, NKJV) “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.” We are praying you discover daily that you and your family are walking in our Lord’s sacrificial love.

Strong Rope of Expectations
(Kathy G.) Psa 37:9, Those who wait for the LORD . . . will inherit the land. The word “wait” here means gather your expectations and twist them together. That sounds like we should gather our expectations of a God outcome together and twist them into a strong rope to hold to until we see them come to pass. The word “land” here is defined as wilderness. We can outlive the wilderness and own it and profit from it as we move on to the next glory.

Feeding the Flock

As the people of God assemble today, may they realize afresh that they are purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and may they be fed by the enabling of the Holy Ghost which is upon the overseers of the church of God.
“Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.” (Acts 20:28, KJV)

Do you Really Have to Live With It?
Have you ever heard people talk like they expected to live in bad health, like it is just something people must deal with? Do you believe you must wrestle with the same old physical issues your parents died with? We do not have to yield to those things and there is no law that says a person must die sick. Wholeness is part of the salvation we have available in Christ Jesus. May you exert energy just because you want to delight yourself in the Lord Who is your wholeness and strength. May family and friends speak of your good health from this day forward. (Prov.3:8, Msg) “Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life!” We are praying you discover daily that you are blessed with life and health.

You Decide Rules of Engagement
(Kathy G.) More keys we can take from Jesus’ wilderness example. 3) Don’t be baited to prove your worth. Don’t even be baited to doubt it. The fact that Jesus died for you shuts out doubt and question of worth. Many wars are won at the point that doubt is kicked out. 4) Don’t let the enemy decide the rules of engagement in the wilderness. That means don’t jump when he says, “Frog.” In fact, sons don’t talk to snakes, they stomp them.

Live with Different Results
In time to come, may you live differently with different results than you have lived in times past. May your home and work be filled with different conversation in times to come because you are no longer discussing threats and defeats but hopes and victories. May your home be fuller of the things you have needed, full of evidences of victories and full of love. May it be full of the language of prosperity. May the months ahead look totally different as you look back on them. May they have the look of answers, resolve and fulfillment. (3Jn.1:2, NASB) “Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.” We are praying you discover daily that you and your family are prospering in God’s will.

Don’t Question Your Family Bond
(Kathy G.) Another key we can take from Jesus’ wilderness example will equip us: >> Don’t allow your identity to come into question during the process. You don’t question your family bond, and if anyone else does, don’t answer them. Stand confident that your Father will not de-son nor de-daughter you, and you must be on guard against allowing a rebellious or orphan spirit to de-Father you.

Teachers of What is Right and Noble
May the Lord Most High keep His powerful hand upon our school teachers in this coming year. May He minister to them their importance in our culture and bless them for giving of themselves to our children. May He protect them and make them righteously effective beyond all logical measures for the children’s future and the future of our nation.
“…They are to give good counsel and be teachers of what is right and noble,” (Titus 2:3, Amp)

Led out of the Wilderness
(Kathy G.) I believe the reason Jesus was led into the wilderness was because He was the prototype for wilderness training. He went there as a son and left there as a son, and there’s no indication it took a long time in between! Some keys we can take from His wilderness example will equip us: 1) It is difficult to be led by one thing while dominated by another. So when you are in wilderness circumstances, don’t allow an orphan spirit or rebellious spirit to dominate your thinking. Father will always see to it that sons “are led by the Spirit” out of wildernesses to fulfillment and glory, but orphans and rebels are not thinking like sons and do not know how to be led of His Spirit.

Remain Solidly Committed
As the people of God assemble today, may they recall the blessings of God and the rich, life-giving Word of God and be encouraged and strengthened to remain solidly committed to Him.
“When he arrived there, he was pleased to see what God had done for them out of kindness. So he encouraged all the people to remain solidly committed to the Lord.” (Acts 11:23, GW)
