Amens! and Hallelujahs!

As the people of God assemble today may they all give acknowledgement and give assent that Yahweh is due “Amens” and “Hallelujahs” from everyone — from the ancient ones all the way to us today and to the ones who are yet to be born. Ps.106:48, TPT — “Blessed be our Lord God forever and ever. And let everyone everywhere say, “Hallelujah!” Amen! Faithful is our King!” Let them all say, “Be it so, certainly, truly” for merciful, Almighty God is faithful and true to His Word and to His character. Though people had sinned, though the sins were listed in this Psalm as a witness against them, yet the Lord was merciful to them so that there was reason for thanksgiving, for “Amens” and “Hallelujahs”. Amen, Oh, King of Kings!

Catastrophes and Purpose

No matter what catastrophe is making headlines, we are already obligated to the purposes of Almighty God. We have already made a decision for the God of heaven. Bad things that happen may make it a bit more difficult to get certain things done and may knock wind out of us but they must not become insurmountable walls; they must only be obstacles which we overcome to fulfill purpose. (Rom.8:39)

Hearts Turned to Thanksgiving

Our hearts are turned to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in thanksgiving for His sacrificial and redemptive acts of love in our behalf. We receive them and what He has procured through them that we may gratefully bring glory to His Wonderful Name.   “And let the peace from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ’s] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always].” (Col.3:15, Amp)

My Father Has Sent

Jesus was shaking the present religious and political scene when He was recorded to say, “All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and earth has been given to Me. Go then…” (Matt.28:18-19a) and “…just as my Father has sent Me forth, so I am sending you.” (Jn.20:21) Key factors we must be aware of: (1) “all authority” and (2) “just as” and (3) “go then.”

Great Politician or Real Church?

Is the real need of this nation a great politician or a real church? Politicians would hardly ever get a mention in the news media if the church was being and doing everything Jesus was and did when He was on earth. One of the major factors that got Jesus crucified was that He was getting more press than Caesar.  People were following and clamoring after Jesus because of His acts which so effectively represented the Father. When Jesus confronted and contradicted darkness through redemptive acts it got the nation’s attention. After consistently revealing the Father in this manner, there was a snowballing effort to make Jesus king. Simply put, Jesus was more representative of life and productivity than was Caesar with all his financial resources and all his millions of citizens. Needs were met and problems solved that Caesar had no capacity for.

Preferred Government

Preferred Government — Nebuchanezar was in office for an unlimited term. Nebuchanezar is the one who took the choicest of Israel’s future and enslaved them for the purpose of culturizing them to the values of Babylon. In spite of that fact the Hebrews Daniel, Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego triumphed and impacted the culture of Babylon with the precepts of Jehovah. (Let us not forget that much prayer was the habit of Daniel.) Saul was in office for an unlimited term. Saul is the one who attempted to murder the future of Israel’s government. In spite of that fact David triumphed. Saul was actually used as a catalyst to join the tribes of the nation to David and see that he was seated on the throne. (Remember: David is an Old Testament type of the New Testament Christ) After being under Saul’s government, Israel much preferred the government of David (NT Christ) over the government of Saul (Heb.: “desired”). He who was so desired became so undesired. (Let us not forget that much worship was the habit of David.)

Mindful of Suffering

As the people of God assemble today, may they be mindful of those who have suffered loss in shutdowns, business closures during the Covid crisis, the loss of loved ones, riots and recent hurricanes and for the effects of those crises upon America. May they pray for those who are hurting and those who have lost so much. And may they be thankful for the mercies of the Lord that are new every morning, for great is His faithfulness. ”For He has not despised nor detested the suffering of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from him; But when he cried to Him for help, He listened.” (Ps.22:24, Amp)

Looking Beyond Today

When we can look beyond today and see tomorrow, God will give us all we see and our children will benefit. “The Lord said to Abram…lift up your eyes from where you are…All the land you see I will give to you and your offspring forever.” (Gen.13:14) We can break in our generation the things that have bound us so our children do not have to live under them.

Look Ahead

We must see tomorrow. We must see it as God sees it. Don’t adopt this age’s sense of hopelessness. It does not take God’s love or miracles into account. Do not be held in the grip of present circumstances but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.(Rom12:2) Get into the Word of God and get a new picture. Get God’s picture of things. Prov.23:18, TPT — “Your future is bright and filled with a living hope that will never fade away.”

Out of Dark Places

In October we are going up and out of dark places hand over hand on the three-cord rope of hope and promise and God’s faithfulness (Eccl.4:12—“a threefold cord is not quickly broken”). The joy of the Lord is our strength (Neh.8:10—“the joy of the Lord is your strength”) to reach and grasp and pull. His light and salvation  (Ps.27:1—“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life”)  are the bright glow of expectancy that we climb toward as we lift up our heads to where our help comes from (Ps.121:1).

What Price Immediate Relief?

What are you willing to pay for immediate relief? Israel desired to return to slavery after being freed at their own request (Ex.3:7,9). The main concern was immediate relief. Esau was hungry, so he traded his birthright for immediate relief. We may find it necessary to deal with a rumbling stomach or uncomfortable surroundings for a period of time to get to promise. Ex.3:7-9, Amp – “The Lord said, “I have in fact seen the affliction (suffering, desolation) of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters (oppressors); for I know their pain and suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand (power) of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a land [that is] good and spacious, to a land flowing with milk and honey [a land of plenty]—to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite. Now, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me; and I have also seen how the Egyptians oppress them.”

Angelic Company

Melissa — In days to come we will realize we have massive amounts of help from a God-created angelic company.  It’s time to be aware that God has created an angelic army doing His will on this earth right now.  It’s time we realized we are intended to network with them because they know our destiny and it is their job to help us get there.  Just like Elisha’s servant in 2 Kings 6, it is time for our eyes to be opened to this partnership God intended.  By the end of 2020 we will look back in amazement at what He has done and where we are. So, go ahead and ANTICIPATE the inevitable, supernatural intervention of God! (MELISSA will be leading us in a Worship Encounter and speaking at DREAMS VISIONS PROPHECY <> September 11-13, 2020.)

Can’t Learn to Live With Evil

There has been a proliferation of evil unleashed upon the earth and every nation is reeling from its blast. Many are taking precautions that have radically changed their routine. But evil cannot be tolerated and we must not ever resign ourselves to learn to live with it. Staying close to home or beefing up security will not solve anything. We will find in days to come that we must deal with evil. Prov.14:22, TPT — “Haven’t you noticed how evil schemers always wander astray? But kindness and truth come to those who make plans to be pure in all their ways.”

Strategic Dreams

Kathy — I have sensed for several months that the Body of Christ is in an important time of transition into new norms.  One of the new norms I believe we can expect is strategic dreams that equip us for the purposes of God.  I consider strategic dreams to be those timely telegrams that confirm direction or give instruction or release insight and understanding for a mandate and call to action.

Carrying What the Nation Needs

LoadCarryBurden.jpgMelissa — We carry what our nation and the world needs, and you can change things from where you are at this moment. God used a remnant of people time and time again to make big changes. He’s God, a tiny dose of His power can turn this nation right-side up! Our new motto for this unconventional year and beyond can be: As goes the remnant, so goes the nation. (Melissa will be speaking on the “Prophetic Lifestyle for Every Believer” at DREAMS VISIONS AND PROPHECY Sept.11-13, 2020__No Fee. Grace Church Willis Phone# 936-856-2455)

The Master is Unconventional

While dealing with the wind and waves of a violent storm, the disciples were not expecting anything unconventional from Jesus. Ps.50:21 “These things you have BoatCloudsShore.jpgdone, and I kept silence; you thought that I was just like you; I will reprove you, and state {the case} in order before your eyes.” (NAS) They may have been thinking that He was like them, being subject to the same limitations they were subject to. They were expecting conventional things from an unconventional Savior. If only they could have grasped the concept that He is THE MASTER OF THE STORM.  After Jesus had calmed the storm in Mk 4:41, they asked one another, “What manner of man is this?” (KJV). In other translations it reads “Who is this?” Not fully knowing who He was, and was therefore capable of, little did they know that He would be coming to join them walking on the water! If your logic is questioning, “What manner of man is this?”, the answer is, The Master Of The Storm. When the Master is called on and relied on, it is possible to get unconventional results in an unconventional year, for He has power over the power that threatens, even over the storm.

Beyond Skills to Purpose

David was sent by his father to check on his brothers who had gone to war. When David came up over the top of the mountain and saw the scope of what was in the ManLookMountain.jpgvalley below, he could have easily concluded that this ordeal was none of his concern. It did not appear that David had any abilities or skills or protocol to deal with this escalated national problem. The lesson we take away from this bit of Israel’s history (as in numerous others) is that we should never forget to factor in God’s purpose and power. Zech.4:6, CEV — “So the angel explained that it was the following message of the Lord to Zerubbabel: I am the Lord All-Powerful. So don’t depend on your own power or strength, but on my Spirit.”

Keeping Darkness in Check

There are mountains for the people of God to rule in. There are seven mountains or mind-molders of culture: 1) religion 2) family 3) education 4) government 5) media MountainsSeven.jpg6) arts 7) finance. Every believer is to have some degree of influence at some level in one (or more) of those mountains. According to the mandate of God upon his people as far back as the Book of Genesis, we are to rule in those mountains. (Gen.1:26) There are “giants” in those valleys between the 7 mountains. They oppose the advancement of the Kingdom of God. As long as there is a Kingdom of Light and a kingdom of darkness, there will be opposition. The kingdom of darkness must be confronted and contradicted in each of its expressions. Jesus called us “light” (Mt.5:14). The Holy Spirit-energized church is the only entity on this earth to keep darkness in check.

A Foe at the Door

Kathy — God said to Cain: “If you do well, will you not be accepted?” In other words, “Cain, you realize you can change, right?” Then He said, “Cain, sin is crouching at HandKnockDooryour door; its desire is for you, but you must master it.” (Gen.4:6-7) Let me put that another way: “Cain, a life habit of missing the mark and being offended is crouching outside your door. It’s waiting to control you, but you can and you must master it.” God told Cain there was a foe at his door (Gen.4:7). That indicates a personal issue that is too close to leave unconfronted. Cain was being called to think differently but he did not overcome the life habit of offence and anger. His rage resulted in his brother’s murder. If we do not overcome our destructive hang-ups (e.g., habits, emotions, attitudes, judgments, fears, etc.), what we do not master will master us.

Coming Prepared for a Fight

Giants won’t stay in the valley. They intend to go far beyond their threats and use their intimidation and bulk to conquer. Goliath had not come all the way from FightingHandsBattle.jpegPhilistia to intimidate a few Hebrews. He was of a mind to march right through the middle of Saul’s army, right through Jesse’s farm and straight into Jerusalem. He came prepared for a fight. Israel had only confronted the giant and didn’t seem to even have a plan for contradicting him. The best time to deal with giants is while they are still in the valley. There must be plans, commitment and action. 1Sam.14:6, Amp — “Jonathan said to his armor bearer, “Come on now, let’s go across to these uncircumcised pagans. Maybe God will work for us. There’s no rule that says God can only deliver by using a big army. No one can stop God from saving when he sets his mind to it.”
