Going Back is not an Alternative

HikingWalkStickPharaoh said, “They are entangled in the wilderness.”(Ex14:3) Entangled means “involved”. It would appear that, in the present, they were so worried about rocks, brush and varmints that they forgot about the freedom on the other side of wilderness. “Coming out” may look different and require different decisions and actions than we originally predicted. But going back is not an alternative.

Get an Adjective Change

HelloNameTag.jpgWhat adjective do people put in front of your name? After heaven invaded JerichoRoad, they could no longer call Bartimaeus “blind” because Bartimaeus pushed beyond what was normally acceptable & defied religious limitations & barriers. Heaven is invading your road. Cry out! Get an adjective change. ”When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus from Nazareth was near, he began to shout out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Mk.10:47, TLB)

Above All we Think

HandCheekThinking

All things are possible with God. The sticky part about that is, we believe the things that are possible are the things we can conceive. But ALL things are possible with God whether they are those we can imagine or those beyond our realm of knowledge and experience. Eph.3:20 “above all we ask or think”

Subtle Things Changing Things

Subtle things in the Bible that no one noticed until they were put in place and Tiny flame.jpegactivated by the timing and purpose of Yahweh: (1) One Hebrew in Pharaoh’s prison (Joseph); (2) 300 men on a hillside outside a Midianite camp (Gideon); (3) 14 yr. old with a slingshot (David); (4) A baby born in an obscure stable (Jesus); (5) 12 nonsdescript men sitting at the feet of Jesus (ragtag, imperfect group of disciples); (6) A little boy’s lunch (feeding of 5,000); (7) 120 people having a prayer meeting in an upper room (believer-empowering, city-rocking move of Holy Spirit). Result: History Changed! Conclusion: Don’t give up!

So They Might Arise

As the people of God assemble today may they praise from their hearts, give from ManPraiseSunrisetheir obedience and hear from true Biblical understanding so that they might arise with God’s power to meet the needs of the hurting and oppressed.  “I’m sending you off to open the eyes of the outsiders so they can see the difference between dark and light, and choose light, see the difference between Satan and God, and choose God. I’m sending you off to present my offer of sins forgiven, and a place in the family, inviting them into the company of those who begin real living by believing in me.” (Acts 28:17-18, Msg)

Grow Beyond Bounds

May the Lord make the remainder of the year, the people, circumstances and time TallTreeof it, a fertile ground for your purpose and destiny to grow in.  *   May you grow beyond all the bounds of what you have been told you would never be and never accomplish.  *  May you outgrow the small view and reputation that family, acquaintances, church and culture have believed they had every right to keep you in. “God sent me to announce the year of his grace—a celebration of God’s destruction of our enemies—and to comfort all who mourn,  To care for the needs of all who mourn in Zion, give them bouquets of roses instead of ashes,  Messages of joy instead of news of doom, a praising heart instead of a languid spirit.  RENAME THEM ‘OAKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS‘ PLANTED BY GOD TO DISPLAY HIS GLORY.” (Isa.61:2-3, Msg)

Wilderness Experience-Wilderness Heart

WildernessLeaving

It’s OK to take a wilderness experience into the promised land but it’s not OK to take a wilderness heart into promise. (Just ask Achan; Judges Chapter 7.) What we don’t leave in the wilderness, trips us up in the promise. What we don’t get over today, overcomes us tomorrow!

Yesterday Today and Forever

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. We tend to draw a straight line and FatherArmAroundSon1point at the left as yesterday, the middle as today and the right side as forever. Rather, draw a circle as representing yesterday, today and forever. He is never-ending and we are the ones He is covering inside that circle with His never-failing, never-changing character. You are surrounded by His love, presence and wisdom!  ”You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past. With your hand of love upon my life, you impart a blessing to me. (Ps.139:5, TPT)

Stay Still and Stay Thankful

After a time of wrestling with unanswered prayer that hadn’t seen the slightest possibility of being answered and after asking the Lord for wisdom and counsel rowing in stormbefore my attitude got way out of line, the Lord spoke to me, “Stay still and stay thankful”. Those are very clear instructions. Immediately I began to think about stillness and thankfulness and Jn.14:1 “Don’t let your heart be troubled”, came to mind. Having studied it I knew it meant “don’t let your heart be agitated or tossed to and fro or perplexed with doubt” and all that is the opposite of being still. Unanswered prayers don’t get to determine the mood for the day. When the man arrived from Jairus’ house and told him not to trouble the Teacher any more because his daughter was dead, Jesus heard the man and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid! Just trust me, and she’ll be all right.” (Lk.8:50, TLB) Trust is the place where you don’t live by what you see or by what you hear; trust is the place where you stand on the Lord’s steady faithfulness, His unshakeable goodness, His undistracted awareness of what you need, of your prayers and when and how it will be best to answer them. —Kathy Gabler
