While Walking Through a Season
When walking through a season, wouldn’t it be best if we got all we could out of it so that we don’t have to go through another one just like it? It may not be possible for some of us to get through the experiences that course will take us through while maintaining our same old paradigms about who God is and how God works. One purpose of seasons is likely to open up a wider revelation of who God is and what His ways are and how we are to participate with Him. Ps.25:4, TPT — “Lord, direct me throughout my journey so I can experience your plans for my life. Reveal the life-paths that are pleasing to you.”

See the Bigger Picture
Prayer & Declare — All-Powerful Lord, I pray that we might be able to see what is beyond our limited sight and understand that which is beyond our confined
comprehension that we may see the bigger picture which You have in mind and function more effectively, not being held back by our small paradigms. May we no longer prefer our petty paradigms but deny them their limiting hold on us while looking to see your expansive possibilities. I declare that we will lift up our eyes from the din of what we hear and see and will look to You and Your Word and Your Power that are able to perform that which You have promised and that which You intend according to Your great wisdom. “And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward;” (Gen.13:14, NKJV) “I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.” (Ps.121:1-2, NKJV)

Challenge to Adjust
We all have paradigms and they are in our mental files and they affect our choices and our expectations. So, the challenge is to realize when our examples and typical patterns need adjustment. That realization does not come by focusing on the pattern, but rather by following the Holy Spirit. The adjustments will come and we will build newer models as we walk in fresh obedience to the Holy Spirit. Fresh obedience will never contradict God’s principles nor His character, but it may reach past known borders and it will not bow to former limitations. (Second excerpt from Kathy’s article “Fresh Obedience”)

Shedding the Scales
May our Lord’s mercy, Word and Spirit remove scales from our eyes. “Scales were representative of Saul’s ignorance… and unbelief.” (Gill) How do
“scales” form? They come from past paradigms, from traditions of our environment, opinions, and personal preferences. Persons of significance whom we have given place in our lives, in our development may, in their views, expressions, and theology be instrumental in helping to form the ignorance and unbelief that prevents our seeing readily and clearly the truths of the Kingdom of God. It takes the Holy Spirit to enable us to realize that those blocking, hindering scales are actually there and are actually preventing our seeing even Scriptural truths. (Acts 9:18, NKJV) ”Immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he received his sight at once; and he arose and was baptized.” And, may I add, Paul then became a powerful instrument in advancing the Kingdom of God—as vehemently as he had opposed it.

Going Through Doors
May we not slam doors of opportunity that are open to us through our words and/or our actions (even if we did not intend those words or actions to
be detrimental). May we be open to approaching doors considering the possibility that we just might have to go through this one after adjusting our paradigms and preferences. May we not look back in several years and wish we had done something differently or wish we had been willing to “pay the price” to walk through that door. May we hear the voice of our LORD as we approach doors in the future and walk through them in the manner of His choosing within His timing.
“Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.”(Jn. 5:19, NKJV)

Gates In Our Fences (by Kathy Gabler)
Gates In Our Fences (by Kathy Gabler)
While praying, I heard the Spirit of the Lord say He is going to put gates in our fences. There is new ground He wants us to take that is beyond our fences, beyond our norms, beyond our paradigms, beyond our limitations and beyond our traditions. He’s going to open new things to us and open us to new things. I know the Bible says there is nothing new under the sun, but sometimes we forget our God is not under the sun. Besides that, just getting past misbeliefs can be a whole new world for us. Going through a new gate is getting to change, getting to new horizons and getting to fulfillment, and its journey starts with a new thought that touches the future.
