Take-That-Mountain Mindset

We live in a nation that must be turned to God. There are many difficult nation-affecting challenges before us and the coming generation. Every challenge and difficulty that we do not meet and overcome in our generation is weight that gets added to the load of difficulties that our children will have to deal with, and that is added on top of the ones they will have to handle in their own generation. Those challenges require much more than a viewpoint which expresses a belief that they will be met and adequately handled by divine fiat in a time period that is yet to come. The Israelite generation exiting Egypt viewed the challenges before them as giants and themselves as grasshoppers (Num.13:33). The giant/grasshopper mindset was not a Promised-Land-possessor mindset. After the giant/grasshopper mindset generation died off, there finally arose fathers (Josh.14:10-13) with a gonna-take-that-mountain mindset that produced a take-the-land-mentality generation—not a generation of mere survivors, but one of possessors. What’s Going On, On God’s Side?

What’s Going On, On God’s Side? When Joshua saw the man with the sword in his hand he asked, “Are you for us or for our adversaries?” (Josh 5:13) The man said, “No.” Joshua met someone who was not evil that was not on his side. He had to stop and think. We are so concerned about our causes, handgrippingropeour comfort and our interests that we seldom stop to find out what God’s causes and interests are in a region or in a season. Many are asking, “What is going on?” I think God is asking, “Who is on my side?” “Who truly has my interests at heart?” What is going on? What is going on is that what can be shaken is being shaken until all that is left standing is an unshakeable Kingdom (Heb.12:27). “Occupy till” . . . sounds like: don’t stop doing anything I have ordained you to do with any less faith, dedication, or enthusiasm. Heb 3:14  “If we can only keep our grip on the sure thing we started out with, we’re in this with Christ for the long haul.” (The Message)

Advancing Against Odds

PlantOutOfPavementAs the people of God assemble today, may they realize the sense of advancing forward against odds that cannot weigh them down to defeat. May they look up into the Face of promise and may they find shackles falling away as they begin their new, brisk pace of momentum into victories.

”‘Hear, O Israel: you are advancing today to battle against your enemies. Do not lack courage. Do not be afraid, or panic, or tremble [in terror] before them,” (Deut.20:3, Amp)

Taking Your Mountain

Climbingmountain
“They” likely told old Caleb, “There is only one way for you to take that mountain: hire a strong group of highly trained young mercenaries who have all the latest firepower.” Those poor Anakites believed the wrong report. Old Caleb drove them out. The doubters who didn’t know the Word of God to Caleb have come too late to tell Caleb there is only one way to defeat giants and take your divinely promised mountain.

Looking Beyond The Giants To Promise

SpiesGrapes
When wading into war became obvious on the present course of progress, 10 spies decided to change course for a whole nation and a whole generation. Not desiring to deal with any difficulties, they began to yell, “Giants!” Taking that lead in opposition to the will of God became very costly for them – much more costly than the war which was waged for the promised land (Num 32:13). But Caleb’s response to the opposition was, “We are able to overcome it.” Caleb and Joshua, who gave the good report, were the only two out of that generation who possessed the promised land.
