Unresolved Anger Undermines Joy

KATHY—Unresolved anger can become a driving force, a passion, an energy that can seem good and productive, while it undermines like termites until the core of character, integrity, hope and joy of life is eaten away.  Unresolved anger can become depression, fear, sickness and even a pattern of failure.  I know a young lady whose anger at criticism and injustice as a child kept her grieving.  She became a prisoner of her focus.  Because she could not take her eyes off of her victimization, she remained a victim, actually positioning herself for more criticism and injustice.  Resolving her anger was the release from the pattern.

Treasure of Good Common Sense

As the people of God assemble today may the powerful Word and purposes of God fill their minds with heavenly wisdom and good common sense to face and advance beyond the base reasoning of this present age. May they be confident in making Bible-based decisions, taking a stand in Yahweh’s truth and righteousness and enjoy the fruit of the Tree of Life. Prov.2:6-7, NLT—“For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity”.

Trust

Melissa — As of late my meditation topic has been Trust.  You know: “reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence.” It should be a natural byproduct of being a believer. I thought so until God asked me if I trusted Him.  Of course… wait, do I?! That’s an answer I thought was sure at this point in my life.  The amazing thing is in that moment, trust made sense for the first time.  All of a sudden there was a relief in my core that I’m not sure I have ever felt.  Without Him saying a word, there was an understanding that actually trusting God meant to actually let go of needing to know the process of getting to an answer.

With Scriptural Integrity

BibleGlobeWhen issues are pressed hard upon society through politics and the media, it becomes quite evident who, in the church and outside the church, is faithful to scriptural integrity and who is embracing the mores of the present culture. Issues and those who support or oppose them are polarizing people to take a stand more definitively for or against. But the Word of God on matters never changes position. Those who stand in opposition to the unfailing Word of God do so to their own detriment and find themselves on shifting sand (Matt.7:27).
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away.” (Matt.24:35, KJV)
“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.” (Isa.40:8, KJV)
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” (Heb.13:8, KJV)
“…the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (Js.1:17b, KJV)

Intense Exertion

pushing_exertionIn spite of the angle of descent of morals and values, in spite of what the world money market looks like, in spite of what the state of the union looks like, we stand on the brink of a destiny that our forefathers never imagined. But it will require our moving from waiters and observers to acting. It will require shifting, transition and intense exertion; the “violent” action of Matt.11:12 which means “intense exertion.”  It is not violent in the sense of doing persons harm but in the sense of putting forth effort in opposition to things that oppose purpose. We must oppose darkness like opposing a rattlesnake trying to crawl up in our bed.
