Everywhere people gather, eventually discussion will get around to talking about family and the difficulties of relationships. I remember hearing about a man who attended a seminar and upon arriving told someone that he had come there to learn how to manage his family. One of the older leaders responded saying, “Don’t try to manage your family; learn to love and serve them, then leadership in the family will come as a by-product of the loving and serving.” It has been said that the biggest favor fathers can do their children is to love their mother.
(Eph.5:25, NKJV) “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.” We are praying you discover daily that you and your family are walking in our Lord’s sacrificial love.

There is a statue in the Woodlands area just north of Houston. A child is standing on the shoulders of a man. The plaque at the base of the 
statue is a quote attributed to Sir Isaac Newton. It reads something like this: “The reason the present generation can see so far is because it is standing on the shoulders of the former generation.” Is the generation coming after us presently standing on their fathers’ shoulders? Does that generation even know that those shoulders are available? Have we taken that generation and lifted them, no matter what the cost, up and onto our shoulders? Are we expecting them to simply stand alongside us and inherit the same inadequacies and shortcomings we have been willing to live with? Some people rehearse to their children the failures and injustices and less-than-desirable qualities of their heritage. While some boldly abort the coming generation while they are still in the womb, some abort them in a more socially acceptable manner once they are out of the womb. In either case, the future has been robbed of their God-ordained potential. Perhaps it is the job of the mothers to push until they are born and then perhaps it is the job of the fathers to push up until they are securely standing on our shoulders.

Self-image, self-worth and self-government cannot be determined by your IQ or strengths or looks or successes or skills, but neither are they determined by experiences or failures or opinions or lies. The thing that outranks all of that is your relationship with the Father and guaranteed 
daughtership or sonship. Identity, affirmation and boundaries are powerfully established through that relationship. Consider David. Even when his self-government completely crashed, it did not kill his self-image, nor did it steal his self-worth. Ding dong! If you refused to take care of your duties and obligations as a God-appointed leader of a nation while taking time out to plot murder, so you can commit adultery and end up with a child out of that affair, wouldn’t that crack your mirror and change the way you see yourself? Well, it didn’t seem to faze David, but I’m pretty sure the whole nation had a cracked view of David, especially when Nathan the prophet, publicly exposed all this. (2 Sam 12) Most people would have crawled in a hole to eat worms and die, but David took personal responsibility and owned his mess. That positioned him to repent (vs. 13). He didn’t act like Adam and try to hide after he sinned. Neither did he spend the rest of his life cowering as unworthy or continually seeking reassurance that God still accepted him. No, in fact, after he repented, he begged God to change His plan and spare the child born out of adultery. Who would have the nerve to ask God for mercy at this point? Even after his mirror cracked publicly, David didn’t allow condemnation to seep in the cracks. It wasn’t that he was a simple-minded optimist, nor was he thinking in terms of deserving this, he was simply convinced God loved him. None of David’s mess-ups ever got bigger to him than God. He remained “a man after God’s own heart,” who continued to see himself as a son just like God did. That’s relationship. That’s a strong family bond and some awesome sonship!

Declaration 2.—TAKING THE FIRST STEP
Father’s strength and wisdom are available for defeated people to take the first step after not moving against things that have defeated them in the last year.
The time of not doing something about defeating factors is over.
Taking the first step toward resolve of relationship problems with family.
Taking the first step out of a habit, victimization, porno, poverty, abuse.
The first step will be admitting there is a problem and wanting the answer, even if it means we have to put forth some effort and make some changes.
The first step will be to not wait for others and not wait for those circumstances to change, but begin the change in us.
First Step Plan:
1.) Admit there is a problem 2.) Identify that problem 3.) Begin taking steps to change while looking to the Word of God and Spirit of God for strength.
Ps.37:23 “The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step].” (Amp)

I am still standing on this Scripture for my household (my whole family), that the life-giving Message of Holy Scripture will save them all (Acts 11:14). And that the Holy Ghost would fall on them (v.15) so that those watching their lives might glorify God (v.18).
“He will give and explain to you a message by means of which you and all your household [as well] will be saved [from eternal death].” (Acts 11:14, Amp)

In 2014 God will deliver people from destructive heritage. Our merciful and caring God wants to deliver people from the illnesses and/or diseases that their parents had; such as heart disease, kidney disease, cancer, blood issues and mental issues as well as others.
He wants to deliver people from out of the same rut a parent was in; e.g., poverty, stubbornness, temper, anger, dependency on alcohol, drugs or personalities.
I DECLARE that we are coming out of the defeat of generational curses and setting a victorious course for our generation and generations to come. We will enter into and possess promises that former generations never embraced.
Heb.4:6 “Seeing then that the promise remains over [from past times] for some to enter that rest, and that those who formerly were given the good news about it and the opportunity, failed to appropriate it and did not enter because of disobedience,
7 Again He sets a definite day, [a new] Today, [and gives another opportunity of securing that rest] saying through David after so long a time in the words already quoted, Today, if you would hear His voice and when you hear it, do not harden your hearts.”(Heb.4:6-7, Amp)

Profitable To Family, Tribe And Nation
The sons of Issachar understood the times in which they lived, understood what was being said by the rulers and cultures of the times. Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do… (1Ch 12:32). They were able to speak more than just their tribal, colloquial tongue. They both understood and spoke the understandings of culture, politics and science. They were then able to articulate those matters to their tribe (v.32) so that action could be taken upon their wisdom. Their knowledge made them profitable to their families, their tribe and their nation.

May your home be filled with different conversation in the year to come—different because you are no longer discussing threats and defeats but hopes and victories.
Your Home #32—May the Lord break you loose from the past limitations of your family, even from many generations past. May you and your seed far surpass the deeds and accomplishments of your former generations so that the Lord is known as Almighty God to you and yours now and in time to come.

Everywhere people gather, eventually discussion will get around to talking about family and the difficulties of relationships. I remember hearing about a man who attended a seminar and upon arriving told someone that he had come there to learn how to manage his family. One of the older leaders responded saying, “Don’t try to manage your family; learn to love and serve them, then leadership in the family will come as a by-product of the loving and serving.” It has been said that the biggest favor fathers can do their children is to love their mother.

It reads something like this: “The reason the present generation can see so far is because it is standing on the shoulders of the former generation.” Is the generation coming after us presently standing on their fathers’ shoulders? Does that generation even know that those shoulders are available? Have we taken that generation and lifted them, no matter what the cost, up and onto our shoulders? Are we expecting them to simply stand alongside us and inherit the same inadequacies and shortcomings we have been willing to live with? Some people rehearse to their children the failures and injustices and less-than-desirable qualities of their heritage. While some boldly abort the coming generation while they are still in the womb, some abort them in a more socially acceptable manner once they are out of the womb. In either case, the future has been robbed of their God-ordained potential. Perhaps it is the job of the mothers to push until they are born and then perhaps it is the job of the fathers to push up until they are securely standing on our shoulders.

Even when his self-government completely crashed, it did not kill his self-image, nor did it steal his self-worth. Ding dong! If you refused to take care of your duties and obligations as a God-appointed leader of a nation while taking time out to plot murder, so you can commit adultery and end up with a child out of that affair, wouldn’t that crack your mirror and change the way you see yourself? Well, it didn’t seem to faze David, but I’m pretty sure the whole nation had a cracked view of David, especially when Nathan the prophet, publicly exposed all this. (2 Sam 12) Most people would have crawled in a hole to eat worms and die, but David took personal responsibility and owned his mess. That positioned him to repent (vs. 13). He didn’t act like Adam and try to hide after he sinned. Neither did he spend the rest of his life cowering as unworthy or continually seeking reassurance that God still accepted him. No, in fact, after he repented, he begged God to change His plan and spare the child born out of adultery. Who would have the nerve to ask God for mercy at this point? Even after his mirror cracked publicly, David didn’t allow condemnation to seep in the cracks. It wasn’t that he was a simple-minded optimist, nor was he thinking in terms of deserving this, he was simply convinced God loved him. None of David’s mess-ups ever got bigger to him than God. He remained “a man after God’s own heart,” who continued to see himself as a son just like God did. That’s relationship. That’s a strong family bond and some awesome sonship!
The time of not doing something about defeating factors is over.
