A Rich Inheritance

passing the batonIn Galatians the word “adopted” does refer to the privilege of being adopted by a father into his family and becoming a family member, but it also refers to the inheritance we have been adopted to receive. Eph.1:18 and Col.1:12 both speak of the richness of the inheritance we have been given by our Father. Our beneficent heavenly Father has a rich inheritance for His sons. He wants all His sons to receive the rich inheritance He has adopted them to function in.

Changelessness Dissipates

FogDissipatingAs the people of God assemble today may all impression and/or delusion of sameness and changelessness dissipate like a mist in the face of the truths and reality of the Word of God—that Word which changes not but changes people and circumstances.
“I want a walk in the country, I want a cabin in the woods.  I’m desperate for a change from rage and stormy weather.” (Ps.55:8, Msg)

Cast Your Care on Him

BurdenBearingCounsel For Living #6— When looking at a Source beyond ourselves, anxiety has a sneaky way of implying distrust and implying that we might do better for ourselves out of our own efforts. But Peter counsels us to cast all our concerns on all-powerful and wise God. As the original language suggests, may we take even the cause of the concern to the Lord and leave it there. The very words of Jesus show us in Jn.10:14 that HE is the Good Shepherd Who stands in defense of the flock and that He is nothing like the abandoning shepherd of v.13. May we give ourselves to Him unreservedly trusting His watchful care.
“Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.” (1Pe.5:7, Amp)

Full Rights as Sons

FatherArmAroundSon1In the Bible, families are where rights, privileges and inheritances are distributed. The first-born son receives the double portion and inherits his father’s authority. Scripture shows us that Jesus is the “first born among many brethren”. (Rom.8:29) In God the Father’s family, all the sons have the inheritance of eldest sons. Gal.4:5— “so that He might redeem and liberate those who were under the Law, that we [who believe] might be adopted as sons [as God’s children with all rights as fully grown members of a family]. (Amp—Bible Gateway)  In the New English Translation it says, “so that we may be adopted as sons with full rights.”

Accomplished With the Help of our God

With the frequency of national and international crises threatening life and liberty, we need the intervention of Almighty God. May Jehovah God help Flaghandsprayhis people in such a way it cannot be denied that it was His hand that intervened and delivered them. May He act in behalf of the righteous and further His work in this nation so that the enemies of this nation recognize His acts and lose confidence in their devices. May Nehemiah’s testimony be ours: (Neh.6:16, Amp)  “When all our enemies heard about it, and all the nations around us saw it, they lost their confidence; for they recognized that this work had been accomplished with the help of our God.” May you discover daily your victories are accomplished with the help of your God.

Sons and Inheritance

A very basic matter to understand at the outset is that “son” in the Bible is not about gender. It is about position in Christ and His Kingdom purposes. A person who has been cleansed by the blood of Jesus is brought into the family of God as a son to receive inheritance and authority and function in the Father’s household. In the time period that the Bible was written, inheritance, authority and territory were distributed  within families. Inheritance and authority were given to “sons”.

God can Turn the Tide

TideTurningThe weariness of pushing and getting nowhere can be disheartening. It seems like a strong tide that pushes in the opposite direction to our attempts to gain harbor. Power to gain our goals seems no more than an ethereal wisp of cloud. But, powerful God can turn the tide that has pushed against you and brought weariness as you have tried to press forward. May you flow, full sail, into victory after victory as the hand of God assures your overcoming.
(Ps.118:15-16, Msg)  “Hear the shouts, hear the triumph songs in the camp of the saved? “The hand of God has turned the tide! The hand of God is raised in victory!” May you discover daily the hand of God turning the tide in your favor.

Sonship and Inheritance

ChildrenWithParentsIt is very important to understand the concept and position of “son” in the Bible. It is not just another topic for a Bible study or something to cover in a Sunday School class before the end of the year. It is a must for the people of God to realize their sonship through Jesus Christ. We (both male and female) cannot understand and operate in the inheritance we have in Christ if we do not understand our sonship.

Advancing Against Odds

PlantOutOfPavementAs the people of God assemble today, may they realize the sense of advancing forward against odds that cannot weigh them down to defeat. May they look up into the Face of promise and may they find shackles falling away as they begin their new, brisk pace of momentum into victories.

”‘Hear, O Israel: you are advancing today to battle against your enemies. Do not lack courage. Do not be afraid, or panic, or tremble [in terror] before them,” (Deut.20:3, Amp)

Good Times, Happy Times

In days to come, as you walk before God Most High in the light of His Word and trust in Him, may our beneficent Father grant you good times, happy times and times of celebration. May you look to the future expecting to see the goodness of God in your life and the lives of your family. Don’t be defeated by what appears to be on the horizon. Don’t be disheartened by rumors and every story that finds flight on the fancy of someone’s fears or imagination. May our merciful Father God send delightful surprises your way and grant you good times, happy times and times of celebration. (2Chron.6:41b, Msg) “…let your holy people celebrate goodness…” May you discover daily God’s goodness working in your life.

Minor Inching Toward Major

GraphInchingUpHow far up on the list have we let “minor” items inch toward “major” positions in recent years? Habits, indulgences and expenditures tend to creep ever upward among priorities and can eventually press biblically-based convictions out of position.  May the Lord help us to keep things in the order that the wisdom of biblical values would put them.

“First things first. Your business is life, not death.
Follow me. Pursue life.” (Matt.8:22, Msg)

What Does the Coming Generation Anticipate?

What will the coming generation anticipate? What are they anticipating now and who was it that set them up to anticipate it? The coming generation will anticipate something. One of the biggest favors we can do the coming generation is to build anticipation into them. Let’s build into them anticipation for the intervention of God, anticipation to see God do something no previous generation has ever seen. Before Daniel came along, who had ever seen anyone walk out of a lion’s den? Before Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came to town, who had ever seen three guys walk out of a fiery furnace without even so much as smelling like smoke? Let’s get our chins up off of our chests and allow our eyes to look upward into the Limitless One. ”Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.” (Ps.24:7, KJV) Every time people speak of tragedy and hopelessness, let us say to the coming generation, “But God….”. Let’s help them keep their anticipator alive and well and functioning at peek capacity. Let’s charge it up at every opportunity!

Taking Plan “A” With Both Hands

HoldRopeHands(Melissa) This is the year to loose your grasp on plan B and take hold, with both hands, of plan A – His original intent for your life in 2016. If your answer is hidden, ask God what the right question is in this moment.  Ask Him what, in you, might be hindering the answer.  Ask Him what you need to know today.  He’s got plans for you, He is not into punishing you.  His M.O. is all about forgiveness, redemption, relationship, and promotion all for His glory. Hey, if He tells you it’s simply about timing then it’s really that simple.  His timing is perfect.  Look at the birth and life of Samuel.  Perseverance is key!  It’s going to be an amazing year.  Get ready for your answers.

God is Faithful to Sustain Us

FatherArmAroundSonThe God-cloaked answer is not about God withholding an answer because we don’t get it.  This is not about Him being mean or cruel.  He is indeed right the opposite. “It is because of the Lord’s lovingkindness we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness.” Lam. 3:22-23 (AMP).  This makes me cry.  Our God is so faithful to sustain us through these battles to our answers.  In fact, His goodness NEVER runs out! This scripture tells us they are NEW EVERY MORNING! There is new strength and grace to be set free right now.  Y’all, He NEVER gave up on plan A which is the John 10:10 abundant life.  We choose to live plan B simply because we don’t have a grasp on His love and true intent for us.

God Holds Back Nothing

HandsPouringGrainAs the people of God assemble today, may their heavy laboring cease and may stacked-up circumstances fall to the ground as they receive good things from their merciful God Who covers them.

“For the Lord God is a sun and a safe-covering. The Lord gives favor and honor. He holds back nothing good from those who walk in the way that is right.” (Ps.84:11, NLV)

Jehovah Preserves

BirdInHand
May our Lord’s presence assure you that He is preserving you and keeping you even when you didn’t realize you needed it. Go out and come in in peace.

“Jehovah preserveth thee from all evil, He doth preserve thy soul. Jehovah preserveth thy going out and thy coming in, From henceforth even unto the age!” Psalm 121:7-8 YLT

No Relapse

(Melissa) Now, here is where the “God cloaked answer” comes in.  If I would have been healed immediately, I would have sabotaged my healing.  I say MountainSunriseCloudsthat because just two weeks ago I was asking the Lord what do I need to know today about this, and as plain as day I heard, “You have a fear of relapse.” OH MY! He absolutely hit that one dead center! That little stinker has had its claws in so many areas of my life.  Now, it no longer does.  That fear will not sabotage the answer.

Focus Back on Possibility

The attitude of cynicism tends to be contagious: the attitude of the person who has been somewhere and it was a disappointing venue, now others PictureFocusdon’t want to go there; the attitude of the person who was married and it was a disappointing experience, now others don’t want to take the chance on marriage; the attitude of the person who went all out to succeed but they ended up broke and embarrassed for having even tried, now others are afraid to step out. Cynicism displaces anticipation and induces lethargy. We must dwell on the God of the impossible and His Word that brings our focus back to all possibility. He is God and will never cease being everything He has always been. Our experiences plus the experiences of others, or even the lack of experiences, do not determine the ability of God to do wonders among His people. The Bible does not say, “All things are possible to him who has always had a perfect track record.” But it does say, “… If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mk.9:23, NKJV)

Fasting Fear

(Melissa) Last year was a year of getting the tools needed for the tool belt.  It was a year of starting to ask the wise, right questions instead of the fear-HandSayNodriven questions.  A fear-driven question already has an answer in mind and can’t hear anything but that.  A wise question is open to hear truth.  Asking those wise questions last year always got an answer.  A lot of answers were personal things that needed to be dealt with in me.  This even led me to go on a fear fast (that has not ended)!

See Beyond the Norm

We must do something to see beyond our norm. What about an imagination that is available to God? Do we only see the mundane and the predictable BoyWearCapeand then do we pray and limit our expectations from that mundane perspective? Have we sentenced ourselves to only praying within the predictable because of past disappointments and the conclusions of others? Children run around with a towel tied around their neck imagining that they can fly, imagining they are super heroes until we talk them out of it. There is no evidence in scripture that anyone imagined the Red Sea parting. Phillip could not begin to imagine 5,000 people fed with only a couple of little fish and a little bit of bread. What if when we come up against the next impossible situation we just said, “Hey, what awesome way does God want to do this?”  “What would the average person never imagine in this situation?” Graham Cooke was quoted as saying,  “Sometimes I think that sin is not necessarily immorality or selfishness. Sometimes it just means we live drab, colorless, stale, and unimaginative lives before God.” Holy Spirit, quicken the Word of God within us to inspire us to see beyond the limiting realm of our daily existence. ”For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isa.55:9, KJV)

Year of Reversal

(Melissa) Here’s how God started breaking down this cloaking idea for me.  I’m going to give a very recent and personal “for instance”.  I’ve been ArrowsReversedealing with a physical matter, not life or death, but an irritating battle that has almost caused a lock down due to the “WHAT IF this gets worse” record playing in my head… on repeat.  It’s that kind of battle that sent my emotions from one side of the spectrum to another.  After all, I’m not the only person to have dealt with this issue.  There are plenty of others living with it.  BUT I don’t see why I HAVE to live with it. So, I have been seeking God on the matter, and He has so beautifully and faithfully been giving me revelation regarding my healing all along this journey.   Throughout this journey I have known in my core that this physical issue is a done-deal.  In fact, at the beginning of this year I heard someone say that this is going to be a year of reversal! WELL, COME ON NOW (go ahead and take that for you and yours right now!).  Just another confirmation that not only am I being healed, but this thing is going to be reversed!

Broken Shackles

ShacklesBrokenAs the people of God assemble today, may they stand in the liberty wherewith Christ has made them free, and in their praise and worship of Him may they pull further from captivity and its residue than they ever have before. May sounds and acts of freedom fill the atmosphere and may those who are bound be set free in an atmosphere of breaking shackles.

”Plant your feet firmly therefore within the freedom that Christ has won for us, and do not let yourselves be caught again in the shackles of slavery.” (Gal.5:1, Phillips)
