May the Lord awaken people to true concerns about life and our nation. (Amos 6:3-6, Msg) “Woe to you who are rushing headlong to disaster! Catastrophe is just around the corner!… Woe to those who live only for today, indifferent to the fate of others! Woe to the playboys, the playgirls, who think life is a party held just for them! Woe to those addicted to feeling good—life without pain! those obsessed with looking good—life without wrinkles! They could not care less about their country going to ruin.” May people awaken and embrace biblical values, and think and act righteously so that our families and our nation not go to ruin. We are praying you discover daily that you are awake to biblical values and righteousness for the sake of others. Counsel For Living #6— When looking at a Source beyond ourselves, anxiety has a sneaky way of implying distrust and implying that we might do better for ourselves out of our own efforts. But Peter counsels us to cast all our concerns on all-powerful and wise God. As the original language suggests, may we take even the cause of the concern to the Lord and leave it there. The very words of Jesus show us in Jn.10:14 that HE is the Good Shepherd Who stands in defense of the flock and that He is nothing like the abandoning shepherd of v.13. May we give ourselves to Him unreservedly trusting His watchful care.
“Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.” (1Pe.5:7, Amp)
