Minor Inching Toward Major
How far up on the list have we let “minor” items inch toward “major” positions in recent years? Habits, indulgences and expenditures tend to creep ever upward among priorities and can eventually press biblically-based convictions out of position. May the Lord help us to keep things in the order that the wisdom of biblical values would put them.
“First things first. Your business is life, not death.
Follow me. Pursue life.” (Matt.8:22, Msg)

What Does the Coming Generation Anticipate?
What will the coming generation anticipate? What are they anticipating now and who was it that set them up to anticipate it? The coming generation
will anticipate something. One of the biggest favors we can do the coming generation is to build anticipation into them. Let’s build into them anticipation for the intervention of God, anticipation to see God do something no previous generation has ever seen. Before Daniel came along, who had ever seen anyone walk out of a lion’s den? Before Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came to town, who had ever seen three guys walk out of a fiery furnace without even so much as smelling like smoke? Let’s get our chins up off of our chests and allow our eyes to look upward into the Limitless One. ”Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.” (Ps.24:7, KJV) Every time people speak of tragedy and hopelessness, let us say to the coming generation, “But God….”. Let’s help them keep their anticipator alive and well and functioning at peek capacity. Let’s charge it up at every opportunity!

Taking Plan “A” With Both Hands
(Melissa) This is the year to loose your grasp on plan B and take hold, with both hands, of plan A – His original intent for your life in 2016. If your answer is hidden, ask God what the right question is in this moment. Ask Him what, in you, might be hindering the answer. Ask Him what you need to know today. He’s got plans for you, He is not into punishing you. His M.O. is all about forgiveness, redemption, relationship, and promotion all for His glory. Hey, if He tells you it’s simply about timing then it’s really that simple. His timing is perfect. Look at the birth and life of Samuel. Perseverance is key! It’s going to be an amazing year. Get ready for your answers.

God is Faithful to Sustain Us
The God-cloaked answer is not about God withholding an answer because we don’t get it. This is not about Him being mean or cruel. He is indeed right the opposite. “It is because of the Lord’s lovingkindness we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness.” Lam. 3:22-23 (AMP). This makes me cry. Our God is so faithful to sustain us through these battles to our answers. In fact, His goodness NEVER runs out! This scripture tells us they are NEW EVERY MORNING! There is new strength and grace to be set free right now. Y’all, He NEVER gave up on plan A which is the John 10:10 abundant life. We choose to live plan B simply because we don’t have a grasp on His love and true intent for us.

God Holds Back Nothing
As the people of God assemble today, may their heavy laboring cease and may stacked-up circumstances fall to the ground as they receive good things from their merciful God Who covers them.

No Relapse
(Melissa) Now, here is where the “God cloaked answer” comes in. If I would have been healed immediately, I would have sabotaged my healing. I say
that because just two weeks ago I was asking the Lord what do I need to know today about this, and as plain as day I heard, “You have a fear of relapse.” OH MY! He absolutely hit that one dead center! That little stinker has had its claws in so many areas of my life. Now, it no longer does. That fear will not sabotage the answer.

Focus Back on Possibility
The attitude of cynicism tends to be contagious: the attitude of the person who has been somewhere and it was a disappointing venue, now others
don’t want to go there; the attitude of the person who was married and it was a disappointing experience, now others don’t want to take the chance on marriage; the attitude of the person who went all out to succeed but they ended up broke and embarrassed for having even tried, now others are afraid to step out. Cynicism displaces anticipation and induces lethargy. We must dwell on the God of the impossible and His Word that brings our focus back to all possibility. He is God and will never cease being everything He has always been. Our experiences plus the experiences of others, or even the lack of experiences, do not determine the ability of God to do wonders among His people. The Bible does not say, “All things are possible to him who has always had a perfect track record.” But it does say, “… If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mk.9:23, NKJV)

Fasting Fear
(Melissa) Last year was a year of getting the tools needed for the tool belt. It was a year of starting to ask the wise, right questions instead of the fear-
driven questions. A fear-driven question already has an answer in mind and can’t hear anything but that. A wise question is open to hear truth. Asking those wise questions last year always got an answer. A lot of answers were personal things that needed to be dealt with in me. This even led me to go on a fear fast (that has not ended)!

See Beyond the Norm
We must do something to see beyond our norm. What about an imagination that is available to God? Do we only see the mundane and the predictable
and then do we pray and limit our expectations from that mundane perspective? Have we sentenced ourselves to only praying within the predictable because of past disappointments and the conclusions of others? Children run around with a towel tied around their neck imagining that they can fly, imagining they are super heroes until we talk them out of it. There is no evidence in scripture that anyone imagined the Red Sea parting. Phillip could not begin to imagine 5,000 people fed with only a couple of little fish and a little bit of bread. What if when we come up against the next impossible situation we just said, “Hey, what awesome way does God want to do this?” “What would the average person never imagine in this situation?” Graham Cooke was quoted as saying, “Sometimes I think that sin is not necessarily immorality or selfishness. Sometimes it just means we live drab, colorless, stale, and unimaginative lives before God.” Holy Spirit, quicken the Word of God within us to inspire us to see beyond the limiting realm of our daily existence. ”For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isa.55:9, KJV)

Year of Reversal
(Melissa) Here’s how God started breaking down this cloaking idea for me. I’m going to give a very recent and personal “for instance”. I’ve been
dealing with a physical matter, not life or death, but an irritating battle that has almost caused a lock down due to the “WHAT IF this gets worse” record playing in my head… on repeat. It’s that kind of battle that sent my emotions from one side of the spectrum to another. After all, I’m not the only person to have dealt with this issue. There are plenty of others living with it. BUT I don’t see why I HAVE to live with it. So, I have been seeking God on the matter, and He has so beautifully and faithfully been giving me revelation regarding my healing all along this journey. Throughout this journey I have known in my core that this physical issue is a done-deal. In fact, at the beginning of this year I heard someone say that this is going to be a year of reversal! WELL, COME ON NOW (go ahead and take that for you and yours right now!). Just another confirmation that not only am I being healed, but this thing is going to be reversed!

Broken Shackles
As the people of God assemble today, may they stand in the liberty wherewith Christ has made them free, and in their praise and worship of Him may they pull further from captivity and its residue than they ever have before. May sounds and acts of freedom fill the atmosphere and may those who are bound be set free in an atmosphere of breaking shackles.
”Plant your feet firmly therefore within the freedom that Christ has won for us, and do not let yourselves be caught again in the shackles of slavery.” (Gal.5:1, Phillips)

Standing in Freedom
If it were not possible to keep standing in freedom, our Lord would not have commanded us in His Word to do just that. He does not want us to be
captive to any degree of slavery. We have been set free to enjoy freedom within the auspices of His character and redemptive purposes. Living our lives under the wisdom and direction of the Word of God leads us in the liberty of sons/daughters who know their Father desires nothing less than the richness of that purchased freedom. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ Who has brought us to liberty that we may glorify Him who purchased it.
”Plant your feet firmly therefore within the freedom that Christ has won for us, and do not let yourselves be caught again in the shackles of slavery.” (Gal.5:1, Phillips)

Don’t Make Devil’s job Easy
(Melissa) If God cloaks something for a time, it is not only to hide it from the devil and his destructive minions, but it is also to hide it from our own
self-sabotage. Yes, the devil and self-sabotage are two different things. However, the devil LOVES stoking the flames of self-sabotage! All we have to do is let our fears and concerns fall out of our mouths like kindling for the enemy’s threatening bonfire. So many times we make the devil’s job so easy.

Available Imagination
A child is always full of anticipation and is always using their imagination to carry them beyond the mundane of ever-present limitations. When children approached Jesus in Mark 10:13-15 He expressed a desire to be surrounded by them and their minds ripe with anticipation. He announced to
the deeply, zealous religious people around Him that He desired they become like those little ones who don’t try entering the Kingdom with agendas, preconceived ideas, preferences and jaded imaginations which leave no room for the limitless possibilities of Almighty God. It would appear from this context that we will not see (v.15) the awesome, mind-shattering acts of the rule and power of Jehovah unless we approach Him with an imagination and attitude of anticipation to enter into His redemptive workings in this hour of unprecedented need and opportunity. Many have made their time, talents and money available to God to do the predictable, but mustn’t we make our childlike imaginations available to participate with a God Who has never been creatively stagnant and Who has never bowed to limit Himself to the mundane?

God-Cloaked Answers
(Melissa) Have you ever had times when a revelatory nugget pops up, then within days you hear the same nugget from other sources? That’s been happening as of late and I’m learning to pay attention to those! Following is one such instance that has been not only ringing in my ear, but answering some of those seemingly unanswerable questions.
While in conversation this was quoted to me from a book, “God hides some things for specific times so that the enemy cannot destroy them.” That stuck with me, and a couple of days later I read a quote from someone else that was expressing the exact same thought! Well, that really hit me between the eyes, especially because these came from trusted sources. It was an “Are you listening?” moment.

Like a Child
The parents were sitting in the kitchen going over their finances and planning the family vacation coming up in five months. The little boy was walking down the hall past the kitchen door. As he passed, all he heard were the words “OK then, we’re going to Disney World”. He picked up his pace
and headed straight for his bedroom. After an hour or so the parents decided it was bedtime and headed down the hall. They stopped at their little boy’s room to check in on him. He was sitting on the edge of the bed, laying over on his over-stuffed zipper bag, fast asleep with his swim mask on his head and wearing his Mickey Mouse t-shirt. He had heard something that filled him with anticipation and that anticipation had him prepared to get under way. Mk.10:15-“…Whosoever shall not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.” This is not declaring to us that we have to be like a child to go to heaven. It is talking about seeing the authority, power, rule and active sovereignty of God because we have childlike anticipation for participating in God’s Kingdom agenda and activity.

Ready to Resurrect
The fact that you need to change your thinking in some part of your life is not an indictment against
you! The simple truth is that without repentance, there is no change and without change there is no overcoming contradictions that keep affecting your life and your legacy. In the vision (several posts back) of that man being resurrected out of contradiction, he started in a death lock and was getting nowhere. That right there was a contradiction to the will of God, but he not only rose up to move on, he rose up and broke free of the smothering consequences and effects and residue of contradiction that were piled on his life in those layers of dirt. We can choose to overcome contradictions in our lives that have hindered us and troubled us too much and too long. Beyond that, God is also ready to supernaturally resurrect us out of the damage they’ve done to us! Our Redeemer is Resurrection and Life! He intends to restore what was lost under siege. His good plans are powerful and precious and within reach. So let’s become who we were born to be and do what we were born to do for His Glory! (This is the last excerpt from Kathy Gabler’s article “Resurrection out of Contradiction“. More excerpts will be posted Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The Road I Must Travel
As the people of God assemble today, may He use our instructors to clearly point out the path for us to walk on. May we hear and see all the truths, directions and wise instructions that bring us to the path of Light so that we may go victoriously throughout our lives displaying the worth and value of a life lived according to the unfailing Word of God. May unbelievers observe and inquire about the road that Jesus pioneered for us.
“. . . Point out the road I must travel; I’m all ears, all eyes before you.” (Ps.143:8, Msg)

Placeholder
In your daily faithfulness to God, you might just be a placeholder for someone else. You may be standing between someone and their destruction and, were you not there, they might just move into that thing or that relationship or that distress that prevents their getting to destiny. Moses was a placeholder for Joshua. Elijah was a placeholder for Elisha and Paul was a placeholder for Timothy. It is like being the shoulders that someone else gets to stand on and start out on. Our ceiling is their floor. You are a placeholder for your children and very possibly even for others.
1Cor.16:13 ”Be alert, stand firm in the faith, be brave, be strong.” May you discover daily God’s purposes in your life.

Issues on the Doorstep
(KG) Cain didn’t recognize the threat on his porch until God told him, “Cain, Sin is crouching at your door.” God was not saying, “You have a ticket to hell on the porch,
Boy.” God wasn’t writing him off. He was warning Cain that he had a personal issue on his doorstep that would trip him up. It was a behavior pattern of messing up and then being offended about it. That thing would crouch on his porch and dictate his life if he didn’t master it. Cain had a call to repentance, a call to think differently and change so that he could overcome a contradiction before it overcame him, but he didn’t and it did. Cain’s thinking did not change and the contradicting behavior pattern of offense and anger drove him into a rage and he killed his brother.

Name of Jesus Powerful
In the next few days and weeks I believe you will find the name of Jesus to be very powerful in your life and your environment — if you will call upon His name, “Jesus”, see Him heal, watch as He delivers others out of impossible strongholds of bondage and fear. Say His name and see how marvelously He delivers you from the threat of harm, even from bullies. The children’s ministers at our church have taught them to declare, “The name of Jesus is my super power”. In Acts 3:16 (Amp) Peter declared: ”And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man…” May you discover more of the power of the name of Jesus this week.
