Patterns and Expectations
The purpose of the pattern of a prevailing spirit showing up at threshold moments is to thwart times of fulfillment or transition and purpose. If the hits of a prevailing spirit become a life pattern, that spirit often remains unchallenged because it is hidden in familiarity. Patterns that are familiar mold our expectations which become unconscious agreement. That is why people find Murphy’s Law comforting. Their expectations agree with the pattern that whatever can go wrong will.

Shine More
Rest is not giving up and flopping down on the ground. It’s not sitting down and doing nothing. Inactivity is resignation to opposition. After recent events in this nation, we must not stop assembling ourselves, must not stop giving, must not stop shining. It is time to pray more, assemble ourselves more, give more and shine more in the light of our Lord’s love. It just might become contagious. (Isa.60:1) “Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!” We are praying you discover daily that the glory of the Lord is shining on you and through you. Interference at a Threshold
(Kathy) Interference at a threshold can be the machinations of both men and minions. Men under the influence of their own thinking (spiritual wickedness of their own high places) or men under the influence of powers of darkness can build blockages. It doesn’t take a big devil to cause interference, just a cunning devil that thrives on timing and manipulating circumstances for the perfect storm. Melissa’s birthday package loss exposed a pattern of a prevailing spirit that only shows up at threshold moments to cause chaos or loss.

Spies and Focus

The spies were not sent into Canaan to see how big the giants were so the spies could repetitively tell horror stories about them. The spies were sent there to see what opportunities awaited Israel to glorify the name of Jahweh in the growth and advancement of their nation. Is our focus God’s focus?

War at a Threshold
A friend of Melissa’s (our daughter) went to great lengths to prepare her birthday gift. The gift was a unique collection of items that connected promise and timing and encouragement specifically for Melissa in her plans for this year. The package was mailed from Mississippi to Texas and
made it to the end of Melissa’s driveway, but she never got the gift. Every step of the gift’s route was traced, confirmed and documented by the post office from the sender to being set upon Melissa’s mailbox. The mailbox was the threshold of fulfillment, however, there was an unpredictable, unprecedented and unreasonable culmination of circumstances at that point. The mailman said the driveway was too flooded to deliver the package to the porch and so he set it on the mailbox and honked to notify the man he saw on the porch. Spring rains had indeed flooded the drive, but there is no explanation for the “man on the porch,” since there was no man on the premises (that had any right to be there).
This incident was interference becoming a weapon used in a threshold war. A “threshold” is a doorway of decision or choice, a place of entry into new potential and change, an opportunity for fulfillment or taking new ground or laying hands on promise or crossing a line of no turning back, but interference causes circumstances to collapse or go awry in war at a threshold. It is like standing on the shore seeing ships in the distance that are headed inland, but do to navigation errors or sudden weather or tide changes, they pass on by or disappear into the night.

Strengthen Hands and Knees
As the people of God assemble today, may they lift up and strengthen the hands that hang down and are tired; may they strengthen the knees that are weak and trembling from heavy loads and stress. May many leave the meeting and go into the coming week with strength and encouragement from their brothers’ and sisters’ words and prayers.
“Give strength to hands that are tired and to knees that tremble with weakness. 4 Tell everyone who is discouraged, “Be strong and don’t be afraid! God is coming to your rescue, coming to punish your enemies.” (Isa.35:3-4, GNT)

Get a Deep Breath
Do you feel like your neck muscles are so stiff that you can barely turn your head? Have people and circumstances got your chest so tight you can
hardly get a breath? God’s love, wisdom and Word are available for your relief. May you be able to get a deep breath today and may the infusion of fresh impartation from the Holy Spirit relax your nerves and muscles. May you be able to relax and be settled in your spirit. (Eph.3:16, Amp) “May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].” We are praying you discover daily that the Holy Spirit is empowering your life.

Out of the Burning Bush
Just as God used the burning bush to get Moses’ attention, He uses signs to get our attention today. God desires to get our attention in order that He may say something to us which could lead us into a revolutionary direction as it did Moses. Out of the burning bush experience came a people to bless the nations.

May the Lord do a life-work in you. May it be a work that will settle something, that will loose something, that will open up something, that will
thrill your soul and cause your spirit to soar. May it be a part of your present victories and your future accomplishments. (2Thess.1:11-12, Msg) “…we pray for you all the time—pray that our God will make you fit for what He’s called you to be, pray that he’ll fill your good ideas and acts of faith with his own energy so that it all amounts to something. If your life honors the name of Jesus, he will honor you. Grace is behind and through all of this,” We are praying you discover daily God’s grace working in you.

Is God Strange?
When Moses approaches the burning bush he discovers that what he has called “strange” is actually God. When the LORD saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush, and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” (Ex. 3:4-NAS) It is not the
bush that is something phenomenal; it is the fact that God is in the bush that causes this whole scenario to boggle the brain. God in the bush is creating a scenario that is most extraordinary. If indeed Moses was actually calling this spectacle “strange,” it was God he was calling strange because God was within the bush making the bush to appear as it did. We best be careful what we label things in these days when God is fulfilling Joel 2. It very well may be wisdom to stop saying “this” is not God or “that” is not God. A good practice would be to say, “I don’t understand that.”

Preferred Government
Preferred Government—Nebuchanezar was in office for an unlimited term. Nebuchanezar is the one who took the choicest of Israel’s future
and enslaved them for the purpose of culturizing them to the values of Babylon. In spite of that fact the Hebrews Daniel, Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego triumphed and impacted the culture of Babylon with the precepts of Jehovah. (Let us not forget that much prayer was the habit of Daniel.) Saul was in office for an unlimited term. Saul is the one who attempted to murder the future of Israel’s government. In spite of that fact David triumphed. Saul was actually used as a catalyst to join the tribes of the nation to David and see that he was seated on the throne. (Remember: David is an OT type of the NT Christ) After being under Saul’s government, Israel much preferred the government of David (NT Christ) over the government of Saul (Heb.: “desired”). He who was so desired became so undesired. (Let us not forget that much worship was the habit of David.)

This Strange Thing
Moses was pretty much just going along minding his own business as he tended to his sheep. One thing he was probably doing on the back side of the desert is that he was walking around kicking rocks and working out his theology. As he walked along he noticed a bush that was
burning. Although that did not seem to be a particularly unusual thing for that part of the world, Moses noticed that it simply continued to burn without being consumed.
It seems that his curiosity finally peaked, so he decided to go over and check it out. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight– why the bush does not burn up.” (Ex. 3:3) While he is observing this phenomenon and while he is actually walking toward it, he refers to what he is seeing as “strange (NIV).” According to Brown-Driver-Briggs’ dictionary Moses could have also been calling this phenomenal spectacle “large in magnitude,” “great in number,” “great in intensity,” “loud,” or even “distinguished.” At any rate, it was something which was quite out of the ordinary. Moses was quite unaccustomed to being presented with such an unusual sight and circumstance. It was now something which had reached a proportion that he was going to have to deal with it or at least make a decision about it.

Is The Lord’s Power Limited?
The Lord asked Moses in Num.11:23, “Is the Lord’s power limited?” In difficult times have we thought the Lord’s power to be limited, even just a little bit, especially in areas of disease or national disturbance or international crises? Is the Lord’s power limited or are we sometimes guilty of considering someone else’s opinion instead of God’s Word? When the Lord told aged Sarah she would bear a child and Sarah doubted, he asked her in Gen.18:14 “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” God Almighty has never come up against a set of circumstances in an individual or a nation that was too hard for Him. God’s power is the same yesterday, today and forever. We are praying you discover daily the power of God working in your life. Generation to Generation
My mother, at 80 years old, told me that, as a girl, she personally witnessed all of the manifestations we have seen in the past few years, including the gold fillings and gold teeth. God showing His wonderful Person through those manifestations is part of the reason that both sides of my family are Spirit-filled believers and ministers today. All of my uncles, but one, on both sides of my family are ministers because of the impact the character of God, displayed in manifestations, had on them as children.

God’s Word is Sharp
“The Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even unto the dividing asunder of soul and spirit.” The emphasis left us in Heb 4:12 is that the Word that is alive and the Word that is indescribably sharp, will leave nothing in us alone. The
Word of God cannot be anything but alive, active, operative and penetrating and it addresses everything in us. That powerful Word is going to leave nothing alone in your life. The Word of God is going to get after sin. It’s not going to leave the destiny of Jesus that is in you alone. It’s not going to leave the songs alone that God inspired and brought to you in worship concerning His greatness to be and greatness to act in and through you. We are praying you discover daily the living Word of God working actively in your life. (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24 hours/day.)

This is That
There are people who, in recent years, have tried to summarily dismiss various manifestations of God. Some have claimed that because they do not see specific examples of some of the specific manifestations in the Bible that those manifestations are not of God. They go from making that point to actually speaking and working against groups which embrace such moves. If the upper room crowd would have had time to look over the manifestations of the Day of Pentecost, they might have rejected them on the same basis. Peter said, “But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;”(Acts 2:16-KJV). Yet, there is no mention in Joel of tongues, tongues of fire or Spiritual inebriation.

When God Charges the Battery
When God restores something that generations have lost, He must put emphasis on it. In this century we have seen an emphasis on Bible
teaching, healing, faith, prophesying and joy. Each time God has restored one of these truths and highlighted it the teacher and the teaching have been rejected and even vehemently opposed by many. God must emphasize and spotlight each of these things because they have fallen into such neglect. Entire generations have become ignorant of them so that they must be jump-started. You cannot start a run-down battery with a typical 10 amp battery charger. You must put a 250 amp charger on it if you want the car to start right then and be useful then rather than many hours later.

Breaking Loose
As the people of God assemble today, may they soar to new heights as they break loose from legalisms that have only served to bind and obligate them to systems that do not produce life. May they worship in freedom and speak and hear the true Word of God in liberty that produces liberty in others. “So we [Jewish Christians] also, when we were minors, were kept like slaves under [the rules of the Hebrew ritual and subject to] the elementary teachings of a system of external observations and regulations.” (Gal.4:3, Amp)

God’s Planned Horizons
May you reach the next horizon with strength to spare and may you rocket into the heart of the God-ordained participation that awaits you
beyond that horizon. May you realize the knowing and joy and fulfillment of participating with our Lord and His purposed-people over that horizon. ”Jesus said, “You’re tied down to the mundane; I’m in touch with what is beyond your horizons. You live in terms of what you see and touch. I’m living on other terms.” (Jn.8:23, Msg) Today, even now, we can lift our eyes beyond the limitations and doubts of our environment and our immediate circumstances. Today, we can hear the voice of Him Who calls us to open up our considerations for His possibilities. We are praying you discover daily Almighty God’s horizons and His desire to get you there. Carnal Reactions
God-fearing people can have carnal reactions to a move of God. Those making fun of the work of Holy Spirit were what we might call the
“churched people” of that day. Yet when the presence of God began to manifest in that city, they were bewildered. These religious, faithful members of the synagogue even made fun of the move of God: v.13 “Some, however, made fun of them and said, ‘They have had too much wine.'” Today people would say something like, “Oh, they’re just in the flesh.” When God restores a truth to His people it can get messy because humanity, dug into its carnal comfort zones, is not easily moved. The way the God-fearing people reacted in Acts 2 is proof positive that God-fearing people can have carnal reactions to a move of God even to the point of making fun of it. A preacher I heard quoted said, “The ways of God must be inscrutable beyond understanding. If they were not, they would be surrendered to man’s mind. And if to man’s mind, then ultimately to man’s control.”

It is the Lord’s Doing
“This is the day which the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Ps.118:24) On this passage Clarke basically says that since the Lord has called us to triumph, this is the day He has appointed for that purpose. He seems to be claiming it for himself, as should we—this time period, this season, even this very day is the day of our triumphing in Christ. This is rejoicing for what the Lord had done for the nation. V.23 “This is the Lord’s doing.” Now, as then, mere man does not have the answers for our nation. Let us lift our voices to the throne of God that we may rejoice in what Jehovah has done in our nation. Rejoice and be glad! We are praying you discover daily the Lord’s doing in your life. Bewildered and Utterly Amazed
The people who were amazed and bewildered were not heathen. They were very religious people (v.5″God-fearing Jews”). These were the
“churched people” of that day. They knew the Scriptures and they had been trained in theology. They were those who were supposed to know about God and know what He was like and know the kinds of things He does. But they didn’t know everything about God nor everything about the way He does things. They hadn’t seen all the ways in which God moves. They didn’t have knowledge of all the ways in which God might manifest Himself. Cf.Isa 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. 9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” This unprecedented Power surge left these religious people “bewildered” in v.6, “utterly amazed” in v.7 and “perplexed” in v.12 (NIV).
