What is Going On?

A question I have heard asked repeatedly over the last few months is: “What is going on?” There is a sudden dawning upon people and nations that things are not the way they used to be while there is an underlying desire within the breast of the typical person for things to go back to the way they were in spite of the ever-present fear that they won’t. Even if you could get back to “the good old days” you would find them woefully inadequate in their revelation and application for today. Current events are not just the result of bad politics or bad politicians. They were not left in charge. An apostolic order for accommodating and advancing the Kingdom of God in the earth was the design when Jesus ascended to the right hand of Majesty on High (Acts 1:3). Things, therefore, must shake and adjust so that the church and the nations might come into correct order.

Unprecedented Victory

StoneSlingshotDavid hit Goliath in the mind with a rock. That resulted in an unprecedented victory. There are unprecedented events that are making history for the first time. There are more to come. Unheard-of giants must be met with unprecedented courage and means. “I will work a work in your days, which you will not believe, though it be told you. (Hab.1:5; Acts13:41)

Confident Of The Outcome

holding out hand stopThe curtain rising on equipping insight may come in a dream. Recently a friend had a dream that laid out priorities for dealing with an attack.  As she was being shot at on the way to her car in a parking lot, she never stopped walking toward her assailant and she simply deflected the bullets with her hands as she kept moving. Three equipping strategies came from the dream:  1) Do not allow the enemy to determine the rules of engagement.  She did not respond with the weapon he chose.  Instead she responded with a supernatural tactic.  2) Though the attack is personal, don’t lose time and momentum by feeling like a victim.  She did not run or hide to become the hunted.  3) Wield your supernatural authority offensively, deflecting and defeating every obstacle between you and your goal. We are about to grasp equipping that produces confidence.   Confidence comes when we realize the enemy does not get to decide the rules or the outcome and neither will statistics or the odds determine the outcome.  Equipped as mature sons, we can go into battle fully confident of the outcome.  She woke up rehearsed and equipped.  The follow-up challenge, of course, is to walk out that equipping and watch God happen.

(*In this dream we are, of course, dealing with typology and not suggesting you walk toward someone who is shooting at you with an actual gun.–MG)

The Kingdom, The Process, The Benefit

The Kingdom, The Process, The Benefit

Most of us have been vaguely aware of things going on in the spirit realm and their effect in the natural realm. We may not have been acutely tuned in to what is happening but we are grateful that they have been happening and that there are, at least, some results that are noticeable and some that are of benefit to our way of thinking.

jesus-disciples 2We are glad to be identified with Christianity. People who first came into contact with Jesus in His earthly ministry noticed His miracles of healing and bread-breaking and followed Him for those benefits. They did not seem to produce or accomplish anything except fill the ranks as onlookers and receivers of benefits. His twelve disciples followed him for a few years as he spoke of and demonstrated the Kingdom of God. In teaching them to pray, He taught them a prayer of offering themselves as agency for the coming of that Kingdom into this earth (Mt 6:9-13). He spent His last forty days on this earth speaking to them of the Kingdom of God (Acts 1:3) and then He sent His Holy Spirit to empower them for their part in demonstrating the Kingdom (Lk 24:49; Acts 1:8).
