Labeling and Praying

I saw the picture of a man on the internet and was immediately moved to pray for him. I prayed this and that for some minutes and then I believe Holy Spirit began to shift my praying to pray that Father would help him to rise above everything he has never risen above, to be delivered from everything that has ever held him captive so that he can be everything he is supposed to be right through 2023. It isn’t doing us (or the other person) any good for us to just label their bondage and feel that the fruit of their lives has proven us correct in our assessment. We can allow their defeating shortcomings to drive us to our knees in intercessory prayer and declarations of liberty over them. 1Tim.2:1-“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people.”

Him Who Moves in the Affairs of Men

May the people of God be filled with the knowledge of Him who is moving by His hand in the affairs of men. May they be encouraged and filled with faith that their Mighty God is actively moving people into situations that are advantageous for acts of righteousness to penetrate into the cultures of all nations. And may they realize their praying is significant and integral to it all.  “. . .and you will learn that the High God rules over human kingdoms and that He arranges all kingdom affairs.” (Dan.4:25, Msg; also Jer.29:7; 1Tim.2:1-2,8)

God Was Kinda Wondering

Of all the things God could possibly wonder about, the Bible tells us He was wondering where His interceding people were. Is 59:16—And He saw that there was no man and wondered…(“wondered” 8074  shamem- to be desolate, to be appalled, to stun, to stupefy; to be deflowered, to be deserted, to be appalled, causing horror (Brown-Driver-Briggs). Could it actually be that this God who loved Israel so much felt “deserted” or that the Arbiter of the universe was actually “stunned” or maybe even “stupefied” that people who knew His precepts and had heard His voice so clearly through His prophets could possibly leave His beloved Israel uncovered from lack of prayer? While we have a great host of people who want to speak for God and prophesy (some eagerly volunteering to prophesy judgment and doom), where are those falling on their face and interceding? 1Tim 2:1 “I exhort therefore, that, FIRST OF ALL, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;” (KJV).

That We May Lead A Quiet Life

CongressPray

If such an outcome were not possible, we would not be instructed by our Lord to pray this way: “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,  2  for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” (1Tim.2:1-2, NKJV)
