Truth and Relationship With the Lord

Melissa Gabler—Truth and relationship with the Lord is about your meditations, thoughts, words, prayers. Are your thoughts and prayers abounding from His truth or the latest from Fox, CNN, Facebook, or Twitter? A safe and healthy place from which to operate your day is praying in tongues throughout. It’s the perfect prayer not swayed by national or family events. It’s the perfect prayer not swayed by the soul. In fact, don’t limit it to that. You may think you’re praying about what is concerning at the moment, but the Spirit prays what needs to be prayed at the moment whether it be for that particular situation or something completely different. Thank God that type of prayer cannot be touched by soulish fears and desires. That is exactly why it is perfect! God knew what He was doing when He gave us such a gift. Yes, I’d say it’s for today. My thought, the soul might say otherwise because it can’t control it. Ok, I’ll just leave that right there and wrap this up. It’s time to call on Him. It’s time to see great and mighty things. It’s time to be great and mighty things.

Love of Jesus Stands Out in History

The awesome contrast of the LOVE OF JESUS stands out vividly and most significantly in history.  It stands out noticeably in comparison to the harsh government and rulers and culture of that time.  Political rulers and military were cruel and unforgiving while religious rulers were stiff and legalistic, meting out punishment without mercy. Jesus walked among the people, talked with them, touched them and wept over them–all motivated by His love and compassion.  His signs and wonders never benefited Him, only those He lovingly touched.  I suppose that if we look at the life, motivation and actions of Jesus, we would come to the conclusion that the definition of love is “redemptive action.” “For God so loved . . . that He gave . . .” (Jn.3:16)

Meaning Of February

FebruaryFebruary means: “expiatory” (the means by which atonement is made). This is the month that many people, and certainly retail businesses, turn their thoughts toward what they label as “love.” So many posture themselves as doing something loving while it is an attempt to get something from the other person. But Jesus showed all mankind for all ages the true selfless act which is truly love: that a man lay down his life for his friends. He didn’t merely lay down His life for mankind but in an expiatory act, paid the price for our sins (Rom.5:6-15).

“By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” (1Jn.3:16, NKJV)
