What Does Accusation Sound Like?

MELISSA GABLER—So, what does accusation sound like? Literal accusation is a claim that someone has done something wrong or illegal. Criticism is an opinion or judgment of what is wrong or bad about somebody. Slander is saying something false or malicious that damages somebody’s reputation; it is also gossip or rumors.  It is even words spoken out of skepticism, bitterness, resentment or offense.
Here’s how this works: It’s repetition that builds a force against someone.  It is when the issue is rehearsed and it’s rehearsed with multiple people, when there is continual mouthing of accusations day after day, week after week.  When it’s shared and rehearsed with others it builds a force.  Some things said might be true, but words compound the issue if they are not dealt with.  Again, this is the epitome of using your powers for good and not evil.  Our words are intended to make a difference and we tend to forget that it goes both ways.

Fruit That Overcomes Self-Destruction

KATHY GABLER—Fruit That Overcomes Self-Destruction —  I was praying for a lady who was incapacitated and went through months of emergency room runs, hospital stays and testing, but the doctors could not bring the sickness to resolve or even a clear diagnosis.  As I was praying, the Spirit of God revealed what the doctors were looking for: they were looking for her self-destruct button. Where is your self-destruct button? More importantly, why is it there?  Is it embedded in disappointment, self-pity, deceit, desperation, selfishness, unforgiveness, bitterness, anger or guilt?  Once your self-destruct button is pushed, can you recognize how you feel or how you feed destruction?  Have you ever connected the dots to realize that agreement feeds destruction and agreement comes with every unkind word and action, every foul mood freely expressed, every dark habit or pattern and every self-justification when you are wrong?
Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit and it is a powerful expression of self-government, a powerful, non-carnal weapon to defeat enemy strategies and strongholds.  Choices concerning our attitude, words and behavior take dominion eventually.  Over time, every ruling force and condition (good or bad, healthy or destructive) gets in control through attitude, words and behavior, and all three begin with thoughts and feelings.  The one-two punch that defeats self-destruction is: 1) recognize destructive feelings and discern dark thoughts, and 2) refuse to be controlled by them or behave as they dictate.  Self-government becomes our weapon against self-destruction.

Bitter Roots

Free RootsLarry Burden — Bitter roots are defined as sinful reactions to painful events. The events, themselves, do not cause the root. The reaction to the events is at the core of the bitter root. Bitter roots express themselves as condemning judgments of people or the refusal or inability to forgive those who have hurt us. They manifest as names or careless words that we have either thought about, called others, or said about the ones who have hurt us. They are powerful toxic pollutants that damage and defile our souls and others around us as well. In response to hurts, wounds, or painful events, we express condemning judgments. We may try to push down the hurts, rationalize them, blow them off, or simply just pass them off as no big deal. But they are big deals! Over time these seeds of bitterness will build a root system and, if left unchecked, become the driving force of our personality, manifesting such things as: Cynicism, Apathy, Negativity and more.  (LARRY BURDEN will be speaking at Kingdom Congress 2022 March 2-4. No Chain too Great for God to Break

There are certain things we can expect if we have been “eating” things like the gruel of bitterness or disappointment. Such a diet renders one unable to give birth. There is no birthing of the promise of God in an embittered spirit. That which God ChainsBreakingdesires to perform in and through us has no “fertile womb” in which it can be conceived when infected by bitterness. A wounded spirit is more difficult to heal than a broken body. It is more subtle, yet more devastating.  Cf.”A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones (Prov.17:22).”  Fraud, adultery and divisions in organized religion have not together taken a toll on the church to the extent that embittered spirits have. But no matter how devastated you may be, God has prepared deliverance. Before Israel could even come up with a plan of escape, God had a plan in a deliverer called Moses. No prison or chain is too great or too old for God to break (cf.Jer.30:8).

A Healthy Soul

(LARRY BURDEN is speaking this morning at KINGDOM CONGRESS 2018) — I cannot tell you how important it is that we examine the fruit of our lives and be courageous enough to face our areas of bitterness by repenting and releasing forgiveness. This action makes all the difference between a healthy soul, or a lifetime of bitterness, cynicism, jealousy, hatred, and ultimate destruction. We have the opportunity to change our future by addressing these issues in our own lives today.  Jesus did it for me. He will do it for all of us! (KC2018 info: martygabler.com/kc2018/)
