Challenged to a New Level

As the people of God assemble today, may they be filled with the fullness of God and challenged to a new level in what our Lord has in His purposes for each member of the Body of Christ, as we stand for our families and as we confront the present climate of culture in our nation.
“May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;  19  And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.  20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” (Eph.3:18-20, KJV)

Character Builds

Zeal can attract people and even hold their devotion for a time. But zeal cannot replace character nor can it substitute for lack of character. Character, not zeal, is the wineskin for the new wine of the new level or the new season of authority. I have seen zealous people split churches and destroy the reputation of a church in a community in a fraction of the time it took to build that reputation. I have seen zeal undo the work of spiritual leadership in a hurting person and drive that person from the church. But character builds, sustains and adds to. It doesn’t take away.
“For Barnabas was a good man [privately and publicly—his godly character benefited both himself and others] and he was full of the Holy Spirit… And a great number of people were brought to the Lord.” (Acts 11:24, Amp)

Keep Out #2

Keep Out! #2 – -May the power of the Word of God and enablement of the Holy Spirit help us keep out tendencies to obsess over difficult people.
“Forget about what’s happened;  don’t keep going over old history.  19  Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new…” (Isa.43:18-19a, Msg)

Releasing What You Have

Just because you do not communicate or give at the same level or in the same manner as other people, does not mean that you are to hold back what God has for you to release for others. In Jn.6:9 the little boy did not hold back his little lunch of loaves and fishes just because it wasn’t sufficient in the eyes of some. He didn’t withdraw saying, “This won’t do any good.” He released it and Jesus took the little and made it sufficient for many.  (Lk.16:10a, Amp) Jesus: “He who is faithful in a very little [thing] is faithful also in much…”  We are praying you discover daily that you are not holding back but offering your best for God’s highest good.   (Marty’s Daily Discovery as heard on TEXAS PRAISE RADIO at the bottom of the hour 24 hours/day. Source of Anticipation

It is not unusual to hear something like, “But the guy who works at my office said ‘such and such’.” “But I read an article on the internet and it said ‘this and that’!” I have observed people making decisions and acting on something reported by a casual acquaintance or even a stranger. How often do we stop and measure the person speaking, much less the source and agenda of their argument? Why would we, in the moment, take their report as though they were expert on the subject (especially a total stranger on the internet) or that they are reporting it absolutely accurately? When we do not properly weigh information, no matter how zealously reported, we may likely end up with its consequences. Once we take a sober assessment of our personal history, many of us will probably find that we have been the recipient of those things we have anticipated that came out of an off-hand statement someone made.

Study to be Quiet

When our little friend got demerits at school, on several occasions, for talking so much his grandmother asked him why he does. He replied, “I’ve got a lot to say”. Sometimes it’s just best not to say anything. May the Lord help us to not speak when it would be wiser to just listen in particular settings; and may we trust the Lord to handle the outcome of what we felt was so important to say in those settings.  (1Thess.4:11, KJV) “…study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;”  We are praying you discover daily that you are studying to be quiet until wisdom releases you to speak.

Anticipating in Days to Come

timeclockcalendarEach of us already has a pretty full plate of anticipation about coming days and events. We are built to anticipate. If we are honest, I believe we will admit that we are continually anticipating what is ahead whether we are anticipating good or bad, productive or nonproductive, desired or undesirable. Right in the middle of it all it would be quite helpful to us if we considered that it is quite difficult to anticipate the provision or intervention of God if we are not looking to God and His Word. Ps.145:15 (NKJV) “The eyes of all look expectantly to You, And You give them their food in due season.”  (NET)  “Everything looks to you in ANTICIPATION, and you provide them with food on a regular basis.”   (This is the first excerpt from Marty’s article “Anticipation”.)

Anticipating God’s Goodness

As the people of God assemble today, may they anticipate the inevitable, supernatural intervention of God in each other’s lives and circumstances. May they agree in prayer and declare that intervention and may they anticipate the goodness of God.
“So understand that it is the people who live by faith [with confidence in the power and goodness of God] who are [the true] sons of Abraham.” (Gal.3:7, Amp)

Lift Your Head

200521907-001

May you lift your head, get a deep breath, may your eyes clear and focus and may you walk in the way that is right and enjoy the favor of the Lord.

“For the Lord God is a sun and a safe-covering. The Lord gives favor and honor. He holds back nothing good from those who walk in the way that is right.” (Ps.84:11, NLV)

Living Stones

stone wallWhen you think about the purpose for your life, how do you think about yourself? We think of ourselves as human, male or female, young or old but have you ever thought of yourself as a living stone? Peter says that each believer is a “living stone” in 1Pe.2:5. That is a designation with purpose. May you see the value of your place as a living stone in the household of God. May you be faithful and augment the local work where God has set you. (1Pe.2:5, Msg) Present yourselves as building stones for the construction of a sanctuary vibrant with life, in which you’ll serve as holy priests offering Christ-approved lives up to God.” We are praying you discover daily that you are a living stone.
