Kathy—Jesus’ death, burial, resurrection and ascension were for our salvation. That salvation includes the power to overcome any obstacle to your life and purpose. The fact that Jesus came to die for you proves that you have value. That’s your trump, that’s undeniable proof that you have value! Now let’s figure out how to get our emotions to agree with that truth so that we don’t bottom-out if someone treats us as if we don’t have worth. It is a lie to believe someone else’s problem can make you worthless. Matthew 10:30 “the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore, you are of more value than many sparrows.” We are praying you discover daily your worth to your God.

Kathy — The second temptation of Jesus was when Satan said, “Since you are God’s Son, jump.” Many grow up never being affirmed. No authority figure notices their worth or ever takes the time to declare it, but God did. “This is My beloved Son in whom I’m well pleased,” affirmed Jesus personally and publicly. Satan couldn’t make Him test His own worth because he couldn’t make Him doubt His Father’s affirmation. (Mt.3:17)

Father is different from pleasing others. Pleasing God is not the same as pleasing the boss or pleasing a task-master or pleasing a judge or pleasing the powers that be in the human realm. God is not affected by humanness, and He is not so shallow that pleasing Him is about emotions or preferences or moods that humans or Greek gods seem to be fraught with.
