OUR SECURITY

KATHY — Our security is not in having many absolutes to protect us, but in knowing Him who is absolute wisdom. Principles hold true, but they get put in priority order by the wisdom of God in every situation. Traditions can have us believing in our beliefs more than we believe in Him, and at that point His Word and counsel have no power or effect in us or for us. Our beliefs are not holy, He is. Therefore, let us give respect and follow through to the gates our holy and wise God builds specifically to get us to the fullest future He desires.

Finding Security

KATHY—Does God ever send us a word that conflicts with our personal beliefs?  Yes.  It’s not that God is out to upset our apple cart.  It is that He loves us too much to let us continue finding security in our beliefs that are tainted by error, warped by experience or hindered by misunderstanding.  These things will leave us at dead ends, frustrated and unfulfilled at some point in our destiny, and He loves us too much to simply allow that.  Prov.3:26,NLT—“for the Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.”

The Lord my Keeper

GoodShepherdThe Lord God is our keeper. He keeps us in the palm of His hand and watches over us daily. We can trust Jesus, our Good Shepherd, to take note of His sheep in very practical matters. May the Lord help and protect you to keep your confidential matters confidential. May the Lord keep your passwords, emails, FaceBook, webpages and bank accounts secure. May those who would attempt to say things to your detriment be checked by the Spirit of the Lord, lest they hinder your righteous progress. May the Lord rebuke the devourer in your behalf. (Isa.33:6, Msg)  “God keeps your days stable and secure—salvation, wisdom, and knowledge in surplus, and best of all, Zion’s treasure, Fear-of-God.” We are praying you discover daily that the Good Shepherd is keeping you.

Cast Your Care on Him

BurdenBearingCounsel For Living #6— When looking at a Source beyond ourselves, anxiety has a sneaky way of implying distrust and implying that we might do better for ourselves out of our own efforts. But Peter counsels us to cast all our concerns on all-powerful and wise God. As the original language suggests, may we take even the cause of the concern to the Lord and leave it there. The very words of Jesus show us in Jn.10:14 that HE is the Good Shepherd Who stands in defense of the flock and that He is nothing like the abandoning shepherd of v.13. May we give ourselves to Him unreservedly trusting His watchful care.
“Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.” (1Pe.5:7, Amp)

Your Sanctuary

home and familyMay the people of God find their home a sanctuary where they are able to have peace and be rested. May it be a place of love, understanding and acceptance. May it be a place of affirmation and support.

“Then all the people departed, every man to his house; and David returned to bless his house.” (1Chron.16:43, NKJV)
