Putting on Jesus

MELISSA—A practical way to pray is by putting on Jesus: Romans 13:11-14 “Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.  Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy.  But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.”  – Back to the above mentioned side note, you “put Jesus on” through relationship and the prayer that flows from that relationship hits the target because it comes from His thoughts and ways which stand above anything happening here! (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Fear and Authority

Most everyone would admit, at some point, that they are fearful. Many things can drive the fears that deplete our hopes and expectancies. But, everything you fear operates on the authority of a government that is inferior to the government and King of the Kingdom of God. (Lk.2:11b, The Voice) “…He is the promised Anointed One, the Supreme Authority!”  (Matt.4:23b, Msg) “[Jesus]… taught people the truth of God. God’s kingdom was His theme—that beginning right now they were under God’s government, a good government!”  (Rom.13:1a, Msg) “All governments are under God.”  (Col.2:10, GNT) “and you have been given full life in union with Him. He is supreme over every spiritual ruler and authority.”  We are praying you discover daily that you are fearlessly living under the rule and authority of God Almighty.  (One of Marty’s Daily Discovery radio spots.)

As God Leads

Kathy — We can repent of putting preference above obedience and of failing to honor God’s set-in leaders, with all their warts and bruises. We can either pray for their imperfections or we can refuse to team up as God leads and then we can just march around Isolation Mountain again! The only thing more dangerous than giving into the temptation to undermine God’s spiritual authority is believing you could never do that! Rom.13:7, KJV – “Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.”

Snakes Coming out of Hiding

The truth will come out and that will draw out the “snakes”. The “snakes” will come LightRaysBlueout of hiding. It is a law that God built into the universe. (Matt.10:26, Amp) “So have no fear of them; for nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, or kept secret that will not become known.”  (Lk.12:2-3, Amp) ”Nothing is [so closely] covered up that it will not be revealed, or hidden that it will not be known. Two notable factors may be found in the authoritative words of our Lord: 1) everything hidden will be revealed and 2) have no fear of those who operate in darkness and do not fear the things they do in darkness. (Also, Isa.5:20; Isa.58:10; Micah 7:8; Matt.4:16; Lk.1:79; Jn.3:19; 8:12; 12:46; Acts 26:18; Rom.13:12; 1Cor.4:5; 2Cor.4:6; 1Pe.2:9)

Embracing the Light

There are two kingdoms that are recognized in Holy Scripture, the Kingdom of Light and the kingdom of darkness (Col.1:12-13; Acts 26:18). “I pray that you will be ManInSunlightgrateful to God for letting you have part in what He has promised His people in the kingdom of light. 13  God rescued us from the dark power of Satan and brought us into the kingdom of his dear Son,”  (Col.1:12-13, CEV)  As long as there is a kingdom of darkness, the Kingdom of Light will never form a treaty nor will the two kingdoms ever even sit down for a parlay; there will never be a cease-fire nor an armistice; total hostilities will never cease because they will each be opposed to the other and must, by nature, contradict one another. The very nature and purpose of each of the kingdoms sets them, perpetually, at odds with the other. It is not possible to exist in a “no-man’s-land” between the two — neither is there any neutral ground. There is either the embracing/participation of Light and the works of the Light or the embracing/participation of darkness and the works of darkness (Rom.13:12; Eph.5:11).
